My husband and I both had the Bang Bang burger with Smokey fries. It was DELICIOUS!!! The food was AMAZING! The atmosphere great and what we saw on the menu only made us want to come back! Definitely recommend if you are in Hermann!

This place is amazing! I’m from Hermann and every time I go back home, I always have to get food from the Downtown Deli. They have a huge menu to where everyone is sure to find something they like. Being from Hermann, I have been there a lot and have never had a bad experience. This place is a must! Be sure to check out their daily specials.

Gorgeous sandwich! The caprice is the yummiest sandwich I've ever had. Omg!The garlic parmesan fries were quite yummy as well.The only thing I would change is the Styrofoam. Please think of the planet!

One of the best places to grab a quick lunch in Hermann. Great deli style sandwiches, chips, shakes and malts. The location is perfect and the employees were very helpful.The Reuben was fantastic so much so that I came back the next day and ordered it again!

Downtown Deli & Custard Shoppe is a fantastic place to grab a quick bite. Their sandwiches are excellent - I particularly loved the Reuben. They also have a wide variety of ice cream options. Don't miss out on this tasty spot for a casual meal and dessert!

Food was good we just got a burger and two sides of fries, when it came to paying my boyfriend tried to insert his card and I guess the girl at the register wasn’t having a good day or something and just grabbed the card with him still holding it and jammed it into the machine. I don’t think she was rushing us as there were no customers in line, but she definitely could have had better customer service skills.

I am writing this review from inside the shoppe. It’s so good! My wife and I got the salted caramel malt and cupcake sundae with chocolate mouse ice cream and peanut butter topping. It’s very good! Will be back for sure.

Visited here twice during our Hermann trip. Once for ice cream and once for sandwiches. Both were delicious. The people working there were very helpful and provided excellent service. The fries were crisp and coated in Cajun seasoning.

A less than average chocolate malt, purchased solely because one of us needed a restroom. Directed to the restrooms without being told the door exited to the outside behind the building AND the restrooms are porta potties. But the juke box looked interesting. And the place was clean - other than the potties.

We asked about restrooms at the counter before ordering as we'd been walking around and not every place in this downtown area has public restrooms AND we needed one! We were assured there is one so we ordered and paid. Then I followed directions --- out back to the port-a-potty! It was so cold! The indignity! I felt they could (and should) have said. I prefer making choices with pertinent information, don't you? What we ordered to eat and drink was mediocre, too. But they have and interesting juke box and album cover display..

A hidden gem in Hermann. We asked some locals where to take the kids for ice cream and they all said Downtown Deli was the spot. It did not disappoint! Great flavors and the concretes were every bit as good as Ted Drewes; my wife initially didn't get anything but tasted my concrete and went up and ordered one for herself right away. Will be back!

It has been years since I have been to the Deli. I had to meet my grandchildren other grandparents there. My grandchildren had fries and ice cream. They serve a big portion of fries, they were very good.

Excellent Tuna sandwich and a nice twist on a Caprese. The homemade chips are very good. But the pickle spear was a huge disappointment. Deli's should make sure the pickles are crisp and tasty.

My favorite place for a banana split. Their ice cream freezer is being replaced but the custard in the split was almost as good. I had food there for the first time--a chicken salad on a croissant; the chicken salad was excellent, however the pickel was soggy and I am not a fan of kettle-style chips. Great place though, highly recommend!

We visited on a busy weekend, 4 counter helpers assembled our family’s order. They were fast and we found seating immediately. Plenty of napkins, complimentary water and a restroom in the back to wash the hands of messy littles. ( the sign out front says ‘no public restroom’)
