This was a good hotel for us - a clean, quiet place to lay our heads. The interior is set up quite differently with the pool in the middle of the rooms - that was fun to see. Don't worry about the chlorine though, once in your room, there's no hint of it. I completely understand why they close the lobby area after 10:00 - thank you! The registration person was great - very welcoming!

Rooms were not bad. This is the first hotel I have saw in a long time that the windows open in, the fresh air was nice. Was loud inside until the pool closed so don't plan on sleeping until then. Overall the location is amazing. Would have to say to make sure and lock your vehicles when we left the next morning a bunch of homeless people were sleeping under the stairwells outside..

Wonderful stay! AMAZING staff. Mary, the amazingly sweet lady working the night desk, was super friendly and a pleasure to chat with. She greeted us by name and a smile, remembered our plans and asked us about our day, and helped us acquire extra blankets and toiletries! Breakfast had several options to choose from and was cooked well.Rooms: Clean and comfortable! The beds had plenty of pillows. Sizeable for two beds and plenty of extra space.

The pool is in the middle of the hotel with hallways and rooms facing it like a courtyard. It was very humid in the hotel and our room. The carpet in our room was stained and a little "sticky". Breakfast was provided, but nothing noteworthy and missing several things I would expect. Good location downtown, walkable to several stores, restaurants, and sites.

Stayed here while in Hannibal to visit the Mark Twain museum. Location couldn't be more convenient. A very short walk to downtown and to the light house. Nice room, very clean. Staff was very friendly and provided an abundance of information on Hannibal, the museum, and other sites to see. Breakfast was provided, and it was very good. Reasonably priced. Highly recommend staying here if you're in Hannibal and want to be close to the sites

Tony at the desk in the late afternoon was great. He had answers for all of our questions, recommended a great bbq place within walking distance. The morning desk cleark also gave my husband great directions for getting out of town and on the road again. Loved the view of the Mississippi river from our room!! Fun area to walk around in. We will be back in warmer weather!!

Went downstairs stairs at 10:15 pm to sit in massage chairs and VERY rudely told that lobby was closed. Signs states quiet time 10pm. Not sure how she thought I was going to disturb the other guests by sitting and getting a massage but.... Very disappointed that after 10 pm on a Saturday night a person can't utilize the lobby without being talked to like a child..... RIDICULOUS! If you are an ADULT looking for a nice place to stay and escape for a bit avoid this location!Nearby activities: Near by activities are good but no point in returning to hotel to enjoy the rest of your eveningNoteworthy details: BEDTIME is 10pm. The lady at the desk is meaner than your mom!

Check in at 9pm, pool/hot tub closed don't open until 9am. Rooms are average, water damage to our ceiling. Tried to print a receipt at the computers, the Internet wouldn't work on one computer and the printer wouldn't connect on the other.Great location close to downtown.Walkability: Walking distance from downtown!!

I have to give more of a poor review for this hotel, the attendant for our check in was very rude to the customer in front of us and to us following them. He seemed like he truly did not care about our stay. Our room was pretty average, my mom had issues with her allergies because all the lampshades were extremely dusty. The parking areas were not large enough and hard to get into. But the location was very nice, a simple 5-10 minute walk to the Mississippi riverfront. We didn’t spend much time with the amenities, it was a little strange that the pool was in the middle of the common area and not in its own room. But it looked clean and well kept. The breakfast was nice, only apples for the fresh fruit choice but other than that it was pretty good! And the lady who prepared it was paying attention to it and it’s quality. Very clean breakfast room.

Room was adequate. Didn't even want to give service a one star as the front desk receptionist was beyond rude. I have read many of the reviews and don't understand how someone who is so disrespectful and rude can continue to work there - she must be the owner. Our friends booked the reservation. Had I known how rude this worker is to their guests, I would have booked a room elsewhere. We have NEVER been treated so rudely by someone who is supposed to provide customer service. We will be back to Hannibal but will NEVER stay at this hotel again!Rooms: Room was adequate.Nearby activities: We enjoyed our stay in Hannibal but actually dreaded coming back to the hotel and having to see/interact with the lady at the front desk.

Let me begin by saying that this hotel is definitely in a great location. (Minus the part of being only a block away from the train tracks. So you have the pleasure of hearing loud train whistles. We stayed one night, more on that later, but we heard the train whistle at 11:20pm and 6:00am. I know the people running it didn't select the location near the train however I believe the rates should reflect it.)Speaking of rates, it's very overpriced based off of the aforementioned train whistle and the old, poor condition of the building. (see attached photos) The lobby is basically split into two. One side is nice and appeared to be newly renovated. However, the other side is where you enter and check in. The indoor pool is just a few steps from check in. The building is an atrium style, so all the rooms look down onto the pool. This location of the pool leaves a very musty smell throughout, including inside the rooms. I've seen atrium style hotels but never one with a pool in the center. So if you're at the pool you are on display to everyone that leaves or enters their room. It's kinda strange.Beds. Very important to most travelers. And I know that "comfort" is relative and might vary from person to person. If you enjoy laying on flat, hard plywood these beds will be great for you. We've stayed in countless hotels over the past 30 years and I can honestly say that these were the hardest, least comfortable mattresses we've ever seen. I asked if other rooms might have more comfortable mattresses and the girl at the desk said that they were all replaced last year. So they would all be the same.We requested the river side but the window was so dirty it was difficult to get a decent picture of the river. Wallpaper was falling off the wall in a couple of places in our room. The ice machine was broken on our floor so we had to go to the 1st floor. (Not sure how long it has been broken). Bathroom light switch was on the outside of the room, which I find very annoying, and it automatically turned on a very loud fan. Low water pressure in the bathroom sink and shower. There were stains on the bed sheets, I'm hoping they were chocolate or something like that. There was a good sized refrigerator in the room. AC was controlled by a thermostat rather than at the window unit. They had a decent, hot breakfast with some variety. In conclusion, we did ask to switch rooms to their other building which is newer. They told us that there were guests coming later in the week so we couldn't have those rooms. Seemed strange since we were already there but we found other, and better, accommodations for the rest of our stay anyway. My advice, don't be inticed by the location of this building, there are better options in Hannibal.Edit: response to (owner). Not sure that the (owner) was actually present during our time so that might account for inaccurate statements in their comments. We would have been unable to say "thank you for the "nice" room" when we checked in because we had not seen the room yet. Also, it was not "nice", hence our failed attempt to change rooms, and we would have never thanked anyone for it.Now, read this next part very carefully because I'm not positive that you will be able to understand. It makes you sound petty and unprofessional when you respond to all of these negative, and accurate, reviews by calling your customers liars and dilusional with statements like "supposed issues" and "I hope you find your Utopia". Did you notice that I shared pictures that support my ACTUAL issues. And we did find something closer to our "Utopia", so thank you. And, due to the moldy smell and dampness in the air, I would recommend others do the same, especially if you suffer from breathing issues such as COPD, asthma, etc.We didn't bother reporting any issues at the desk due to only staying one night. Shouldn't your cleaning staff be reporting those issues? Perhaps they are accustomed to the issues and assume them to be "normal".Changing my 2 Star rating to a 1 Star due to the rude response from (owner).

DO NOT COME HEREFront desk clerk VERY rude over the phone AND in person. We had nowhere to really sleep because of a flooding issue. I’m 19 and accidentally booked under my name, the family member who was coming with me was over 21. Changed the name and showed her the receipt. Did not care. She was rude over the phone AND IN PERSON That lady had no sympathy and no manners whatsoever. She went off on us and then proceeded to kick us out when we told her to stop being rude. We were very calm throughout this situation but since we walked in the door it was VERY unwelcoming.Whoever the older bigger lady is who works at the front desk needs to be fired and never work with the public again. As I did call in the morning!! But I however was not checking in, reservation name changed, someone 21+ was already staying with me. You were the rudest person and you sitting here replying and making up stuck up excuses because you don’t like your job ( get a new one cause jeez you don’t belong in this industry) but I also explained the situation and you were completely rude at that as well. Either way I’m glad I didn’t waste my money, I’d rather go to a 1 star hotel then deal with your attitude. We really don’t care for your response as you are just gonna make an excuse 😂 LMAO this place is a joke I mean look at how many people complain about the front desk!

The lady who answered the phone at the hotel was rude. I asked simple questions and she snapped at me. I was not even being rude. I called back at 9 in the morning for a Manger she stated she was the manager I told her how I felt like staying there would bring me down. And that I wasn't comfortable. And she canceled my reservation and stated I would not be charged a fee. Because she was rude for no reason. I did by the last call get my digs in but she really should not be handling customers.

I'm 43 and grew up in the area but live over in St. Joseph, MO now. For the past 4 years my son and I have enjoyed weekend trips over to Hannibal sometimes and always stay at the Best Western. All the Ladies that work there are so nice and super friendly and they all know me and my 8 year old son. They know I'm not rich just a forklift driver but we love staying there and when I call they recognize my voice and do their best to get me a discount and plus I'm a Best Western member we always try to stay at one in whatever state we are in. The man they have working the front desk now is mad all the time, he answers the phone always sounding stressed out. Tonight he quoted me a price I thought was too high, I said well I don't want to pay that much I guess we will drive 4 hours back home. My son was playing the quarter game in the lobby, he said dad I've won a few quarters and somethings blocking it and they won't drop out. I told the man my son won a few quarters and they didn't come out, he said loudly okay!!!! I'll have someone look at it and my 8 year old son said dad but what about my quarters then I said loudly I'm sorry son you got ripped off and they won't give you the quarters, he heard that and looked concerned but didn't even try to give my son 50 cents and it upset my son alot when we got out to the car because the machine wouldn't give him the money he won and the man wouldn't help us. If a nice cheerful woman is not back at the front desk we won't be back!!!!

10/23/23 We just stayed over the weekend and it was another great experience. Pool was warm, breakfast offered a nice selection, bed was comfy and the overall stay was wonderful. Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. We'll return next year!2022 Our first time staying here and we'll be back. Mary checked us in and was very friendly. Our room was clean, nicely decorated, and comfortable. The pool was nice and warm and good breakfast choices, too. It was a short walk to the festival which we enjoyed.

Advertised great view of river but our room was small with no window near noisy parking lot door. Friendly check in person. Nice breakfast room and buffet. Good location for walking downtown.Nearby activities: All Mark Twain buildings within walking distance as well as restaurants and shopping. Took Riverboat dinner cruise which we enjoyed.

Don’t try and work anything with Mary. We booked for 2 nights, but stayed only 1 night. I asked for a refund; two weeks after the stay, and ended up being called mean and hateful, being told they would sue us, and my whole family would be listed to never book there again. I never once raised my voice or said anything cruel. I asked for the owners name and I would call back and chat with them, as I find it hard to believe they would not refund 1 night. I did mention I could dispute the CC charge, and that was when Mary called mean and nasty, said my family would be listed, they would sue me, and hung up. Way to go for customer service. Thumbs down 👎🏻Walkability: Close to downtown.

This location is convenient to the historic downtown sites. While the room was clean, this property is old and needs updating. If you are sensitive to chlorine or pool chemicals then I would not suggest staying here as the pool is indoors and all the rooms surround the pool. Definitely needs better ventilation. Bed was just ok, the pillows were small, boxy and uncomfortable. The bathroom was small but clean. The parking lots are tight and difficult to navigate. The few employees we came in contact with were not friendly at all. I would not chose to stay here again, as I found the premium price they charge is not worth the convenience of downtown. I would chose to stay in town at one of the newer hotels that are closer to better restaurants and just drive to downtown to see the sites. Just park at the river front park parking lot and walk around.

Great location for exploring downtown Hannibal! We could see the Mississippi River from our room. The hotel provides a solid breakfast in the morning and the pool is a great amenity for travelers (hot tub is great). Rooms were clean and had everything we needed. My only complaint is that the doors and windows are very thin so noise travels very easily.Walkability: 5-10 minute walk to most downtown attractionsFood & drinks: Plenty of food and drink within walking distance!

This place would have looked dated 30 years ago. Parking lot is a nightmare. Internet is very slow and drops constantly (I'm not sure if they straight up turn it off at around 10). If you aren't here for the tourist stuff look elsewhere.

Great location, directly in the middle of town, and easy to walk to all attractions.Rooms are clean, and I would probably would have rated it higher if I hadn't spent most of my time walking around townBy far, the greatest part about this hotel was the service, especially Mary, who works behind the front counter. Great attitude, very friendly, and overall a fun person to talk to. She went far and above during my stay, even helping me when I ended up locking myself out of my room late at night.I hope the managers of this hotel are reading this because I can't stress how thankful I am for Mary's service.

It was a great hotel as far as customer service and room cleanliness. But there is a pool right in middle of hotel and if it's busy then it is so loud in your room. It echoes in the little hallway so if you're looking for peace and quiet before 9pm won't happen under those conditions. But employees are great at getting everyone out right on time. Great restaurant across street Mark Twain's Dinette. River in eye shot. Breakfast was good not outstanding and definitely not bad. If the pool thing didn't keep it so loud I couldn't do any work, it would of been five star for sure. Not a bad rate for weekend it was 120
