DO NOT WORK HERE UNTIL MANAGEMENT FIXES ITSELF. The current Manager is probably the biggest joke I’ve seen when it comes to bosses. She will tell you to do something when you have not received the proper training, tell you she will be available and to reach out if you need help(exactly as management should do) but then ghost you and fire you for not knowing how to do a task, etc. there was a lot and I don’t even think she knew what she was doing herself. I had applied and was hired with the notion that one day I would have my own store. But after working for the company and under the management who is currently running this store, when I tell you to run don’t walk away from this place I mean it. On the other hand, if you like management that have not the slightest clue how to run a store, getting management duties dumped on you for $14 an hour without training, and the most unprofessional environment you will be around in your life, this place is for you. I see why every single person left as soon as the new Manager took over🤷‍♀️

They "lose" FedEx packages, and it's IMPOSSIBLE to call and speak with anyone at the store because the line is always busy. There is NO WAY a dollar general stores phone is ringing off the hook for 14hours.

This place needs new management. The store is filthy... ALWAYS. Nothing is stocked... EVER. And as stated recently. All the inventory is on carts in the middle of the aisles. I spent 15 minutes searching for a light bulb the other day. Looking in boxes and on the top shelf because they were not organized and nothing has been stocked for a while. This is a management issue. I'm honestly surprised this has gone on as long as it has being this is the only DG in GV... :)

The store has a number of issues. For one there is a lot of inventory always in the isles. This makes it difficult to find the items that you need. On a lot of the products the prices are not clearly marked. This makes it difficult when you're on a budget. Would it hurt them to clean the floors every now and then. If you want the experience of waiting through dirt and moving boxes to get what you want this is your place.

The staff that I experienced on my last visit was exceptional! Went out of their way to point out sale items, and climb ladders to make them accessible. From walking in and being greeted, to having the clerk run after me with my forgotten item after check out and her taking my cart back for me, it was an awesome shopping experience!

Was greeted as I walked in the door. Was asked if I needed assistance on finding anything. Didn't wait very long in line to check out. The cashier was very friendly and attentive. She was also helpful on my questions! The only bad thing I can say is that the clearance aisle wasn't priced correctly or just no price at all.

WONDERFUL! The entire store was neat and orderly and the employees were refreshingly personable. And even though they seemed very casual and friendly, they were surprisingly vigilant about appearing casual in their hawk-eyed theft prevention patrols. The lighting was plentiful but not harsh and the selection of goods and wares was tolerably varied and well stocked. Overall, I'd have to say that this is my new favourite store. Especially if they accept WIC payments.

I rarely write reviews and I’m surprised because all of the other reviews seemed positive toward the staff, I wish I could say the same. I don’t go into dollar general often but the last two times that I have I have had the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced in any store. They don’t check on you, they don’t say hello when you walk in just look at you and look down which is fine i don’t even really care about the greeting but when I got up to the cash register both times, two different ladies acted rude, monotone, and just made me feel like I was inconveniencing their lives, AT WORK. that is their job.

The cashier at Dollar General was very nice and friendly! The boxes of items being placed on the shelves were put to the side and did not block the aisle. The items we needed were in stock and easy to find. Definitely going back!

My daughter and I stopped by this location yesterday to see if they offered helium and balloon services, which they do! They happily assisted us, offered to collect all the balloons in a big trash bag, and even helped add extra confetti in a few balloons. That is amazing customer service! THANK YOU!

RUDE manager with a smug look on her face that needs to take a class on customer service and needs to get a makeover asap. Also the employee there was not too friendly either and probably couldn’t even count down the register by himself.

The Dollar general has fair affordable prices on most of their items for sale. They have friendly staff and are conveniently located in just about every town now. If your looking to do some quick shopping and do not feel like dealing with a large crowd of people i would recommend stopping here.

Like the store much better since the update. Still need to work on cleaning floors and neatness of isles and shelves. AND STOP SMOKING INSIDE THE BUILDING. I can smell cigarette smoke every time I go in there.

Nice offerings of products and friendly empolyees, which is pretty unusual these days ina retailer like this one. The young lady at the register was kind and personable, I really apppreciate that as an experienced shopper ( shorthand for sr. :)) I would drive back there rather than shop at the Blue Springs store which I have not had pleasant service or experiences with employees. I hate when retail employees don't recognize that the customer is the reason they collect a paycheck.

It was a little busy, but didn't wait very long. Staff was friendly and quick... The store was clean and everything in its place and was easy to run in and grab what I needed and be on my way

it's got what you want, kinda. In the General manner. Beats going across town to price chopper. Deals vary, seems staff is pretty cool. No complaints. They seem to keep them busy though!

Nice people cashier was new but she knew where stuff was and was very friendly store was clean but little disorganized almost looked like to much merchandise for store size maybe delivery day but employee were trying to put up so all in all clean store nice people and very well stocked went for 3 items came out with 12 LOL

There are boxes everywhere that customers must maneuver, aisle by aisle, yet shelves are hardly ever stocked. Also, there are actually items on shelves, and in coolers that are already outdated, such as milk, frozen foods and eggs. Incredibly understaffed which can sometimes cause small staff to be frazzled or even rude.

Nice Dollar General with friendly and helpful staff. Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is due to store usually being filled with stock not yet on the shelves and could use one more cashier at certain times of the day.

Something needs to be done asap!! Always a mess and can't get through to walk without boxes everywhere!!! Usually a line with only one person. It's been in the condition for a couple years. You'd think they be able to find someone who knows how to run the place. Maybe to much to ask?????

This store is lacking management. The employees are not well trained to solve problems when they arise. The store is staffed with aloof employees that don’t care about anything at all. I’d rather brave Walmart.

A fast place to grab standard staples in the middle of the week. They also sell toy guns which I never thought important until I had to find one. Walmart and Target do not sell toy guns at all.

They have changed the whole layout of this store and I like it a lot! Staff is friendly and helpful! Great for Grain Valley! Keep up the great work!

. Just visited the store today. I'm telling you I shopped there for a really long time. They got to the point where they had nothing absolutely nothing in stock. I was told by somebody that was new in the store that they were redoing it and everything would be restocked in two weeks, that was two months ago. I will not go back. To bad up there for years

They work hard and don't get paid much, they greet you when you come in and thank you for coming in, what else can we ask for, these people are what Wally-Mart used to be before they became too powerful.

I absolutely hate going and Dollar General in Grain Valley. They always have boxes and tons of stuff in the aisles and it's hard to maneuver, There never seems to be Anyone readily available to check you out whenever you need to be checked out, And cashiers are just rude

Parking lot is in horrible condition due to big potholes, the lines for the parking spaces are hard to see. Inside the store was very crowded with product needing to be put away.

GV Dollar General has improved quite a bit. There are still days it's hard to move throughout the store, but the staff is helpful and friendly.
