Dollar General's staffing approach seems quite unreasonable to me, as they rely on just one clerk to handle all tasks, including stocking and operating registers. This puts immense pressure on the poor girl, who is clearly overworked and underpaid. Moreover, their self-checkout system is hardly functional, which makes me question the competence of those responsible for its setup. The customer service experience is abysmal, as the staff is constantly running around in a chaotic manner. It would be more sensible for Dollar General to assign separate individuals for stocking and operating registers, rather than burdening one person with everything. Consequently, I have decided to refrain from shopping at Dollar General in the future.

Busy place with usually one or two employees often working to get more products out on the shelves. They're typically friendly, but you may have to go find them if you need help because they stay busy. The store is usually well-stocked with the basics and more, and is generally clean.

Handy store, I was camping nearby and discovered my coffee maker was dead. I ran to this store and fortunately they had some in stock. Girl checking me out was very nice and helpful. This is about the only store around this area, and I'm glad it's there, or I would have had to do without my morning coffee

There's been at least a half a dozen times I've stopped in for one item and have to wait in line 15minutes bf I checkout bc they only have 1 employee working the register but have a line of 7+ people. Besides that the women that work there make it enjoyable to come in!!

the staff there was very nice and friendly, especially the older women. She spoke very highly of Anthony, as I did. He helps Dan a neighbor of mind detail cars on his days off. A great polite young man.

It's the only place for miles that has more selection than a gas station. It probably saves lives because people aren't having to drive all the way back to town for basic necessities. The convenience of it's location shouldn't go unnoticed.

Clean and staff are very friendly.Well it used to be. Since Rhonda left, the store is extremely messy. Bins everywhere.. There is a young man there with long hair and he doesn't wear it back and he is always messing with it, while checking you out. Very annoying. Shelves are not stocked! Today sales associate rang me up without even ahello. She never said a word! Yes,very disappointed! Starting to look like the Eureka Springs store! A big big mess!

Easy access in and out of parking lot. A blessing to have here in eagle Rock. Our only store for quite a ways. Staff always friendly. Sometimes a little slow getting through check out but it's always busy

I gave this store one star for one reason only - Empathy. Three innocent people were very negatively impacted. First and foremost, my wife. We live on a fixed income, she is the thrifty little shopper, but lacks management experience. She downloaded the DG App, and has been diligent in checking the coupons. We were to save $8.00 on a $43.00 purchase. The register did not recognize the checked coupons. This was the second consecutive time in two weeks this had happened. She asked the clerk to look into a remedy, who approached the store manager with the issue. The previous week's discrepancy was quickly and easily resolved by the manager. But this was Saturday, Memorial Day weekend, they were VERY busy. The manager replied; try running it again, if it still doesn't work there's nothing I can do about it. This leads me to my second innocent person impacted by this. The manager. You see, most folks believe that management is a high end position of authority. Ever met a manager who worked less than 60 - 80 or more hours per week? Now, divide their pay by the hours put in. That's where minimum wage starts looking prosperous. Now imagine that you are required to keep payroll and other expenses at, or below projected in order to succeed. That manager was faced with overwhelming odds, at or less than minimum wage. Her response was her only choice. The third victim in this equation was a customer behind my wife. He simply told the clerk; " Put the $8.00s on me, I just want to get out of here". This was a man of integrity. He likely worked all year for 3 days of rest. In the end, the DG Corporate management could have opted to ensure, that this store was adequately staffed (2 employees, and a manager to resolve issues and maintain continuity of operations), and had a profitable weekend, but instead chose to adhere to "Bottom Line Projections", save a buck and lose customers, and perhaps a good manager. Wake Up DG! There are three parts to success. Customers, employees, and the profit/Loss equation, or Bottom Line. All three are crucial. Their Apps relate directly to all three. Delete the app (it only works occasionally), and go to Walmart. It's easier.

Place is always cluttered but full.Staff can be rude. Felt like I inconvenienced one girl when I wanted to purchase something. She kept talking to her friend and never even looked at me while checking me out. No hello, good bye, or even a f*** off.

Not a fan of this store. They can have several people working, one register open and usually no one at it even if 5 people are in line. Most of the staff that has worked here awhile are rude and are not helpful, I asked where something was once and got the response, "over there somewhere," which I don't need to say is terrible customer service, I am going to fill out one of their online surveys next time I have a bad experience here which is almost every time I visit. Not only that, if they are playing music over the speakers in the store it is so loud you can't hear to talk to someone. I really only shop here because it is close to my house and there are very few shopping options in Eagle Rock, MO. This location would get 0 stars if possible

The manager (Lynette) at this location is just AWFUL! They must be really hard up to staff that place, being in somewhat of a remote location. She is rude, she throws your stuff around, then if you confront her she laughs, and talks you down to other employees, and customers. The parking lot has garbage flying around, and the inside is dirty and items on the floor. I did get a number to call from another employee, will do that next.

Love having a choice like DG close by. Decent selection, helpful staff, hours are my only complaint. 10pm close? Really? 11pm, or even midnight would be so much better for those of us that have late schedules.

I wouldn't normally give a Dollar General 5 stars but this place deserves it. we were on our honeymoon and we were traveling from Devil's Den to Branson and we broke down and this Dollar General parking lot. We got a flat tire. The people who work here were incredibly friendly. They let me charge my phone near the bathroom and hang out inside with my almost two year old daughter. Who was extremely bored and wanted to scream and cry and Destroy Everything. But the cashier was amazing. She was super patient. She said that she had babysit some kids so she is used to it. They tried to help us find a place to fix our tire. They went out of their way to do that. They didn't have to but they did. We bought supplies here as well before we realized our car tire was flat. So we did actually buy things. All the things we bought were worth it. Lots of Gatorade and water. I would recommend buying Gatorade here it is really cheap. Other than that just seemed to have found the only friendly people in this town here at the store.

Not a very clean place. Not well stocked and organized. Staff wasn't eager to help, when I checked out the lady seemed like I was inconveniencing her. Even the parking lot was filthy. Unfortunately the store is located on the outskirts of town and it's the only one nearby so I'm sure it gets a lot of business for this reason.

Messy isles, some so cluttered you can hardly get down them. Under staffed, there never seems to be more than one employee. Five miles away in Holiday Island is avery nice DG with clean, well organize shelves and uncluttered isles.

I appreciate the convenience at the store tries to offer but for some time now the Isles are always blocked with merchandise that comes in and isn't put away. I know countless other people have called about all the trash that is in the parking lot in the outer grounds didn't make it just look horrible

Very convenient! This Dollar General was only 8 miles from camp. The staff was very nice and friendly I found everything that I was searching for. A doll, sippy cup, water, snickers, summer outfits and as always everything at a very low price.

The manager there has a very bad attitude and has been rude to me twice. I told another employee that if she's rude again I would be calling her boss. Well instead of me she humiliated my friend and she went home crying. I've lived out here for over 25 years and have never been treated so poorly. She's rude and has the worst attitude twords people I've ever seen. I'm 56 so I've seen a lot . The managers name is Lanette. If something isn't done about her rudeness I won't spend a dime in this store!

85% of the time when I come here it is cash only. Proves to be a real inconvenience whenever you only carry card around. Make sure you stop and get cash before trying to come to this Dollar General otherwise you are having to leave and go find an ATM if you really need what you are getting.
