I usually process all of my own deer, but due to personal time constraints, I found Dittmer Meat Packing online and their website looked very professional and up to date so I decided to give them a try. Shortly after parking and dropping off my deer, I noticed a small, black toiletry bag near the right, right tire of my truck. My wife being a type one diabetic, it reminded me of her insulin kit. Being worried that I might have accidentally ran it over, I picked it up and examined the contents to discover it was someone’s meth kit. The old, burnt spoon inside along with the needles is what gave it away. I gave it to an employee who told me that he “thinks he knows who it belongs to” and then we joked about how dumb some people are.Later when I came back to pick up my deer after getting a call that they were ready, I pull up the local fire department there putting out a fire that had broken out in their smokehouse.Then, the woman working behind the counter tried charging me again for the deer processing that I had already paid in full when dropping off. Luckily, I paid with a credit card and was able to pull up my banking app and show her the amount that I paid on the day I had dropped off the deer. I would have had to pay double if I had initially paid in cash. I’ve read other reviews about possibly having to pay double and I would think that this business would have a better way of tracking who has and hasn’t paid prior to pickup.Had one of these incidents happened, I don’t feel it would deserve a 1-star review, but the fact that all of these happened in my only experience with this business is a little worrisome. I will not be giving them my business in the future.

They gave us a date for steer drop off months in advance. About a month before our drop off date they called asking if we could move up the date, we could not. On the day of drop off they cancelled our appointment after our steers were already on the road! They offered no apology and tried to blame the USDA because they couldn't process deer and cattle at the same time. Their incompetence cost us an additional $182 in hauling as well as an additional $140 in butcher cost. We gave them weeks to apologize in any way and nothing. There are much better butchers around. Don't waste your time

We purchased a quarter side of beef last year. (yup mid covid) LOVED it!!! Great quality, cuts and packaging. Definitely will purchase from this business again. The only thing I would do different is get thicker cut steaks, but that is a preference. Great customer service as well.

We are repeat customers. Everything was packaged as we had previously requested. Meat was frozen solid on pickup and stayed frozen for the trip home. You can taste the quality difference from store bought. We ordered both beef and pork.

I came here to purchase one or two pounds of beef liver, and the worker that helped me gave it to me on the house, as they only had a one pound bag thawed and an eight pound frozen. Great service and wonderful quality! I'll definitely be stopping in again!

I had the chance to dine with members of the family that owns this store. The quality of their meat is as good or better than the best I have tasted in New York or Chicago. I sampled sirloin, beef sausage, chicken sausage and port loin -- all wonderful. The animals are all grass fed with no chemicals. They have a special spice that they use in cooking (no I couldn't get the recipe).And yes, I saw their retail store and the prices are absurdly low. You could order meat and ship it and still come out ahead.

I brought my deer here a few weeks ago after my previous processor retired and closed up shop. The prices are very reasonable, the turn around time on the sausage is very fast, and most importantly the sausage is delicious and packaging/processing is top notch. I will definetly be bringing my future deer here.

Dittmer meat for the last 7 years has never dissaponted me. Ive order meat from them numerous times and can say they have the best around! The family working has always been ever so polite to my family that we will never go anywhere else to buy meat. Their prices beat Walmarts and their meat is fresh! I highly suggest anyone go to them if you need any meat and they also do deer processing!

We've been buying all of our meat from Dittmer Meat for over a year now and all the meat weather it's beef or pork it's always amazing and the service we receive everything is exceptional. If you want real meat instead of that stuff the stores call meat then give them a try you won't be disappointed.

The man i spoke to was Ed , really polite, and help full when i picked up my order, the gentleman i ordered it from was also helpful picking out different cut of meat when i got ordered the side of beef , I will be going back to them and recommended any one to go there , Its family owned and ran, also I pray for this buissness to keep going strong and be blessed as they work hard threw these crazy time,
