Stunning views from inside or outside! Perfect spot to grab a pizza and beers.Service was fabulous. Everyone was friendly. We arrived very close to closing time and they still took care of us.We had the ranch chicken pizza and we ordered the Belgian White and Perfect Storm Pale Ale. Both were great!Would definitely visit again!

Beer and pizza. What more do you want?!?!?! This is a local microbrewery. The beer is great and the pizza is hot and cheesy! You can drive here or ride your bikes along the Katy Trail and stop for lunch. Plus, if you are of a faith- base like we are, this is also a Christian-owned brewery. Good News of the Gospel. You’ll be happy here. Trust me!!!

Great place, right on the KATY trail. Good food, great local beer, inside and outside seating, upper deck seating. Local bands (Calvert and Williams treated us to 60s, 70s and 80s music with a smidge of grunge mixed in today) make it even nicer.

Fabulous brewery and pizzeria right on the Katie Trail. Enjoy a bike ride to Good News, and then enjoy a brew and a pizza while taking in the sun on their patio. You can't go wrong with the Vampire Pizza (Spinach, feta and mozzarella cheese); it doesn't bite back. Lots of brews to choose from.

Great spot for a beer after riding on the Katy Trail. They have plenty of room indoors and outdoors. There’s even a rooftop patio! The food options were ok, but more veggies options for the pizzas would have been nice. The pizzas had a nice wood-fired char.

Have your wedding and reception at Good news! It is amazing space with tons of natural light and a roof top patio that the sun just to happens to set behind. Also, I have to say their pizza is hands down some of the best around!

Good News in Defiance is bad news if you don’t use credit or debit cards. They do not accept cash. Sorry, won’t be back. This place is a pile of sadness… after spending a couple of hours here, the staff is not very inviting. More reason not to come back.

We stopped here for a bite to eat after we had set up camp at the camp grounds on the south side of the Katy trail. We order 2 pizza's, one 3 meats & the other veggies. They both were Very good! The menu has pizza, salads, bread and sticks. They serve Coke products. And of course they have beer if that's your preference. It's a good place to meet a group of friends. It's also a good place to stop if you're riding the Katy trail. They are located just inside Defiance city limits

Not a fan of Microbrewery beers, but pizza was excellent. It's an open place so hot today but some big fans blowing really helped. Nice clean bathrooms too.Right on the Katy Trail in Defiance MO. Prices not bad and they offered a military discount! Always love places that appreciate and show it to the veterans.New rv camp ground next door as well. So plenty to do. Go for a bicycle ride or hike the Katy trail between Matso and Weldon Springs put in.You can even reach Klondike from there as well.

I really enjoy Good News Brewing. The pizza and beer are excellent. I also enjoy how the seating area is open to the outside. We stop here after our hikes.

My fiancé and I had a meeting with Mandy who gave us a tour and sat and spoke with us about what it would look like to have our ceremony and reception at Good News. The experience was wonderful, Mandy was a very welcoming host and focused on us while we were there. We were not her only appointment/meeting that day, but we did not feel rushed or like just one meeting on a list. While at Good News we were able to try some of their beer, it was great! We also tried their Vampire Deathwish Pizza, it was delicious. If you’re in the area, you should give it try!

A nice late afternoon ride on the Katy brought us to this terrific Brewery. There was plenty of seating and the outdoor area was open as well. The staff was friendly and very helpful. We grabbed a quick drink and snacked on some garlic bread...yum! Plenty of spots to park your car or (like us) your bike. They also had a tool and air station so, if you need to tighten something up or air up your tires, you could definitely do that here. We had to pedal back since it started to get dark, but we will definitely be back. Thanks for the hospitality!

Came across this place while riding the Katy Trail. Excellent beer in a beautiful town. It’s also worth a read of their history and outlook on life. I extracted this from their website: “…the power of sharing The Good News by being human. This means having fun, celebrating, being in community, and having parties. Remember how Jesus did that thing where he turned water into wine?”Right on.

Very disappointed went on st Patrick's day and prices did not match the menu. Talked to Hailey the manager she did not try to make it right blamed management. 3 tables in a row all had the same issue so overcharging is ok if you cam blame someone else ??? That's not right.

Find your own seat when you arrive; not marked anywhere and we waited a while to find this out. Folks working here are friendly. Covid protocols were a little hit or miss. Folks (including staff) walking around had masks on. Didn’t see much cleaning on tables so I’m not sure about that.I’m not a beer guy but my wife enjoyed several of their options - they have quite a few. Pizzas are just slightly bigger than a paper plate, so plan accordingly for your table. Great tasting, though! Had the Buffalo chicken and the meat pizzas. Really good.I’m sure we’ll be back at some point. Maybe I’ll see you there. :)

They were amazing! I needed a wedding venue short notice and they were incredibly well organized and helpful. The food was delicious and everyone loved the different beer selections. So thankful they came across my radar and I can’t wait to go back!

Been going here for years but they just recently went cashless. Wouldn’t take my money even though it’s legal tender for ALL debts. Their excuse was they have to count the registers so that’s pretty lazy. Our little pizza almost doubled in price, I understand (deliberate) inflation but coupled with the fact they won’t let me pay for the pizza with MONEY, I’m done. More people need to do the same so we don’t see this happening more and more…. I don’t care what the reason is, you accepted cash before, so it’s possible. If every single business did this, we are in huge trouble but no one seems to care.

Let me preface this by saying: this place was not in the plans. We were *supposed* to be 30 min away in St Peters, but when we arrived to our RV campgrounds, we were greeted by a road closure sign and flooding. In a scurry, we found the next place with vacancy, in the middle of what felt like the mouth of he'll opening up and swallowing us in a flood. The campground with vacancy is in Definace,MO (Beyond the Trail RV Park), a breath away from an incredible ride on the Katy Trail, and at the mouth of the entrance? THIS AMAZING BREWERY.So just picture this: we are flooded at campground #1, desperate in a torrential downpour, Beyond The Trail RV park accepts us, and after 4 hours of driving and some unexpected twists, you arrive at the best kept secret in the area. Ambiance: spot on. Allows and welcomes pups: check! Amazing IPAs, but also CIDER: DOUBLE CHECK! Annnnnnd FOOD! Pizza made from a super nifty guy in the back, tossing mini pizza dough like a pro,and adding toppings you request. Also? An adorable cheese, fruit, veggie tray with peanut butter, hummus, and chocolate raisens. I mean, what?! And how do you level ALL THAT up? You name the brewery "GOOD NEWS"!So when we landed in the flood plain, and we were wondering whether evacuations would have relocating again, there was at least some Good News to be had ❤️ And luckily, we had it.Absolutely pin to your maps and enjoy some Good News with us.

The pizza I ordered was really good. I had the "vampire deathwish." It had feta cheese, spinach, w/ homemade garlic sauce. I ordered a belgium beer, which was good. You have to order & pay @ the bar, & they give you buzzer. You seat yourself. I sat near a nice fire outside. There's also seating on the roof. It's a great place to grab drinks after a bike ride.

Very good beer and wood fired pizza. They had a Dunkleweiss beer and it is very close to the German version. My husband a a German pizza. Just imagine a brat with sauerkraut with cheese and brown mustard.

Exactly what it sounds like! Upon hearing the words “good news”, the word Gospel came to mind. So when the strains of Christian music hit my ears, I knew I was in the right place. As a recovering fundamentalist who is part of a growing community that loves Jesus and a good craft beer, this was the retail manifestation of that intersection. So drink responsibly here and talk to your neighbor about the News that changed your life!

We just happened to come upon this place after we finished kayaking at Klondike. Food and drink were both delicious! I had the chicken bacon ranch pizza with a cider. Hope I can go back soon!

We LOVE this place!Great beer and pizza in Defiance. Can't beat their monthly $10 buffet pizza and bingo night! Great unique microbrew beer selectionmade on site, always adding new ones.St. Charles, no masks required,(except staff) and yes, everyone lives to tell about it! 👍Tables grouped together by families/friends. Thank you, I feel normal again!Love this place and they are opening another location soon at the Katy Trailhead in Defiance with even larger food selection. Can't wait. A Christian based company and a great asset to the community.

Visited today just to try the new gluten free brick oven pizza. Lets just say we'll be back. It was a hit.

The best stop along the Katy Trail! They have incredible Neapolitan-style pizza and a nice selection of beer. It was very busy when we went over the weekend, but we had no trouble finding a table and getting food/drink in a timely manner. They even had live music which was nice to hear.Having been to their O'Fallon location, I was a little disappointed by the slimmed down selection – no pizza or beer flights. Only specific pizzas were available and the beers were only available in pints. I wanted to try several but had to stick to just one. Perhaps they allow flights on less busy days.Update: I just tried their coffee for the first time. Even though it was a perfect day for an iced latte, I judge coffee shops on their hot lattes, so that’s what I got. I’m sorry to say that I was very unimpressed. Their pizza is some of the best around, but their latte tasted pretty generic and lacked artistry. It’s passable, but I wouldn’t get it again.

The beet isn't bad. I won't patronize them again based on their card only policy. If my cash isn't good enough, forget it.
