We drove past Defiance Ridge Vinyards many times before while we were on our way to other wineries but never stopped there. We were invited by a friend to visit there and we were pleasantly surprised. It a fantastic winery, they have great wine and excellent food of all kinds. They provide regular wine glasses for you to use at no charge, we brought our own but didn’t need them. There was a band and they were great but I felt sorry for them because I didn’t see many people tipping, I’m sure those guys don’t get paid much from the winery and rely on tips. Anyway it's a really great place for a great time.

Excellent food and tasty. Service was very good as well. Huge place with lots of seating available. Smoked trout sandwich was a big hit. Beautiful area too. Worth the drive to visit.

This was a really great wine tasting and food experience. Stopped by with my sister and niece, and the gal at the tasting bar was super friendly and nice, and they had a great selection of wines to choose from. Then we picked our wine and went outside to sit and order some food, and our server gal was just as friendly and nice and the food was fantastic! We all got something different and everything was really good. I can't say enough good things about this place. Definitely a five-star experience!!

Fabulous location and food. Great view worth the ride up the hill from the Katy Trail. Perfect lunch spot while riding. Service was great and very accommodating. Had some lovely sandwiches salads and charcuterie board.

Gorgeous venue with a breath taking view of the valley over looking thr vineyard. Amazing space inside and out, staff, service team, front and back of house always hospitable.Special spot for weddings, receptions, any event really, or just a day/evening get away by yourself or with someone you want to share the experience with.Would definitely recommend, but don't take my word for it, check it out yourself.

Beautiful grounds. Soo crowded, wish the tasting room was a little bigger. Not my favorite wines and there was no explanations with the pours.I think our experience would have been a bit better if we came during a slower time.

We came here for my fiances birthday with a group of 10. The waitress was very kind and everything was quick and delicious. A member of my party was being rude to the waitress and so I just wanted to apologize on the behalf of our group. She was great!

DRV is the most magical place to get married. The grounds are beautiful and the staff is amazing. The DRV team made the planning super easy. Our wedding went so smoothly. Guests could not stop raving about how the food was so delicious and that they loved the surprise fireworks. All of this and DRV has the best wine around. Thank you again for making this day the best day ever. We will be back for wine on the patio and our anniversaries.

It’s our first time here and it was a pleasant surprise. The front entrance had a sign for self seating. So we found a table outside and the scenery was very nice. Service was prompt and courteous with no issues. We tried a glass of Defiance Ridge Norton and the Twig and Twine Chardonnay. As wine connoisseurs, we found the wine to be of exceptionally good vintage. The Rustic Cheese Board was well worth the price and just the right match for a midday snack. It’s the perfect place for a casual midday social and wine tasting.

I've been going there for close to 20 years...when it was still Wine Country Gardens. It's independently owned, food is always good and music is never excruciatingly loud because they didn't hire a sound guy unlike so many bars and restaurants in St. Louis & St. Charles Counties!

Excellent food, great wine and friendly service. Open late on Thursdays and independently owned were two additional selling points for us. Try the Norton Reserve and pulled pork mac and cheese!

This is an extremely hard rating and review! Venue is beautiful, but only saw 2 bathrooms. We did a wine tasting and chose the Defiance Ridge Cabernet, extremely easy drinking and tasty! We proceeded to the outside patio to drink and order some food. No one ever asked or approached us to take our order, very sad because the food looked delicious. Finished our bottle and told Lynn (she was our waitress for tasting) no one ever waited, she was more than apologetic and made things right. Like I said I usually don’t post reviews this low but Lynn was extremely nice and knowledgeable about their wines. She is the reason we will return!!!Update ** We returned and once again Lynne is the reason we love this place. She has an infectious attitude that puts you in a good mood. Try this place and look her up.

The grounds are very nice but the operations were very confusing. We walked in the main entrance and there was no hostess. Furthermore, there were no signs directing customers anywhere. We waited in the lobby for a few minutes and ended up asking a random waitress how seating worked. She informed us that all tables were open seating. Only one third of the tables were taken so it is not like the place was overrun.We went and found an open table but did not receive service for 15 minutes. We finally found the waiter and he told us he would bring the table menus but that took another ten minutes. When we finally got the menus, we tried to order the wine tasting we were informed that this was not possible at a table - a fact that was not communicated anywhere but was listed on the provided menus.It was 57 (yes, fifty seven) minutes from the time we walked in the front door to the time we got our first glass of wine. We got our food 80 (eighty) minutes after arriving but were not even given napkins. Again only one-third of the tables were full. Overall the service was extremely slow and very confusing.I gave two stars - one for the beautiful grounds and one for the food.

The layers of beautiful seating options here were amazing. We had the best experience here due to all the information and assistance, that Trenton, gave us! Wealth of knowledge and so personable. Definitely an asset! Plenty of inside space in case of a sudden downpour. Loved the wine tasting and left with a Norton reserve in our grasp. Great service in every aspect. Very disappointing visit. First time here today. I've literally been to every winery in Missouri and this is by far the worst. The wine is very disappointing. We sampled 5, and not only would I not buy a glass, I certainly wouldn't visit here again. It was sub par to say the least.

Great service and wine variety! Had a tasting of some of the wines made by the vineyard. Plus there a full menu of comfort food and a view of the lower valley. (But not too great a view due to the Dec 11 tornado damage nearby).

We had lunch here on a Thursday afternoon. While there were lots of other people there, it wasn’t terribly crowded. Our server, Theresa G, was very friendly and welcoming. The wine is quite good and our food came up very fast. The portions are generous and the prices are very reasonable. Everything tasted great. The extra large tiered patio provided ample shade and beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. We will be back and bringing friends along with us next time!

Stopped if for a Friday lunch day on our trip through wine country. The service was friendly and knowledgeable on the wines. She made great suggestions on food and drink choices. The patio had a great view of the valley to pair with a good selection on food. Worth the visit and would visit again.

Recently attended a event here. The venue is absolutely beautiful. Personally, I wasn't a fan of the wine but the staff was so friendly. There is a lot of outdoor seating, plus a covered outdoor area for seating as well and the food was amazing. Beautiful venue for any event.

My experience with Defiance Ridge Vineyards did not begin with this review, since they have always been incredible. My wife and I celebrated our reception here and had the time of our lives. Michelle took care of every need we had and met every expectation above and beyond anything we could have imagined. The food was out of this world for a reception. Every guest was happy and we had 220 plated dinners. We had compliments for days from everyone about the venue experience, the service of the staff, FOOD! We got the steak and chicken, the Italian salad and garlic mashed potatoes. Wow. Thank you again to every staff member who served our wedding!- The Biermann's
