Yellow Dog is AWESOME. It's rare that a used bookstore has such a great collection; all the books are LIGHTLY used and a good deal cheaper than most new editions of the books. An entire wall is full of literary contemporary and classic fiction, there's a science fiction section worthy of your time, and a small but delightful shelf for novels in foreign languages. If you close your eyes, spin around, and point at a spine, there's a good chance it's a gem. I can't recommend this place enough!

This is the ideal form of a used bookstore. The shelves are overflowing with great reads, and the staff are super helpful if you’re looking for something specific. However, I honestly love going here to just browse. The old book smell permeates the store, and it just feels so cozy!

Books everywhere! They have so many books on any topic you can imagine, especially their modern topics/current events and culture section. They even have some new books! If you want a bookstore with a cozy feel and a knowledgeable owner that seems to have read every book in the store (so great recommendations) this is your place.For selling books, their prices are very fair. You can get a little more for in store credit, but if you just want cash back, they offer that too.

What a cool bookshop! This place is stocked to the ceiling with all sorts of stock. We liked the kids section, and Missouri travel/tourism section. The staff was busy, but kind. This place is a real treasure.Fair assortment of $1 postcards too!

Such nice people, very awesome service. I brought in some books to sell, there was no parking spots around, so I just ran in really quick to drop the books off because I had my two children in the car. I went and he bought a few of my books and gave me a good deal on them. Very helpful, and very nice. I didn't get a chance to browse around but it looks like they have some really good books in there as well, if you're in the area I would suggest stopping in.

Awesome as usual! Love selling books and getting store credit (though cash is also an option). Why would you sell books if you're not going to buy more books?? Their new system of appointment only selling also makes it super easy to get in and out. One of the best family owned local shops that everyone in CoMo must visit once.

Book stores are always a joy. I wasn't as pleased with my sales, but the owner is a very nice gentleman who is easy to speak with. Definitely will not be my last time at this bookstore.

Love the atmosphere here. I called about a book I needed for class, and they were able to hold it for me until I got there. Not to mention they are very affordable. I love the window displays they do every month. Support local ❤️

I love this place, it's one of CoMo's small business gems. The owners are helpful and they make the most of their space. Current books on almost every subject, with an emphasis an emphasis on diverse authors and books about social justice. If you're in the market for a book, skip the internet and support this local business.

There were a lot of books there, a nice setup in the front window, and even a kid's corner. Kid friendly books, for all different ages, and book suggestions. They had the rest of the store sorted into genres.

Yellow Dog Bookshop is a cute, quaint local bookstore in Columbia. The shelves are crowded with a great selection of books and the kids nook is adorable. It can be hard to find a specific book with a large selection, but it’s a great bookstore to browse.

We were in there for about 10 minutes, and we were right by the two people working, and they never said one thing to us or acknowledged us. We were within 10 feet for most of our visit. The two employees had a conversation the entire time. Never said hello. Never asked if we needed help. Never said goodbye. So bad I wrote this while in the store.

This place is just the best! Any book they don't have in stock, they will order for you. The staff is incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Plus, their window displays are always so cool!

This place has some good collection of old books, fairly priced also. Do not forget to check the bargain stack right by the door and the back room. I wish they wouldn't close the shop at 6pm during the weekdays. Check it out if you a book lover in Columbia.

One of my favorite used bookstores anywhere. Great selection and easy to find things. Interior is pretty cramped due to volume of books, so be prepared to bump into someone if it's busy.

Man, this place has some really great stuff. It didn't feel "picked through" at all, and I was able to complete a couple of my collections. Excited to make my way back there soon.

This place was pretty cool, they didn't have an expansive selection in each section, but very unique, like some of the stuff I couldn't even find on Amazon and let's not to say that the quality wasn't good, just very unique points of view, worth checking out
