This place is awesome! It is suck a wonderful bookstore, filled with all the things that should be there (books!). The staff was anxious to help and very personable. The store has a good mix of literature, and a super-cool children's area. If you want a local bookstore, rather than some big chain, this is the place to go!

Skylark is your quintessential local bookshop. I went on a Saturday morning when there was a children’s book reading in the shop’s front window to greet me as I entered. It was busy, but not crowded. The staff were kind and helpful, but provided the space for patrons to peruse leisurely. Based on my selections, at checkout, the staff suggested a book club offered at the shop each month where everyone is welcome.

The best bookstore I've been too! The staff and owners are very friendly and helpful! The selection was amazing. I loved the bookish items (including jewelry, candles, wallets, stickers, and more)! The ascetic was beautiful and clean. The children's section had a tree with birds hanging from it. It was everything I wanted in a bookstore, but haven't found until now!

Skylark is such a wonderful store! It has a great location for downtown shopping, they allow (and even encourage) friendly, leashed canine pals, and they have an extensive collection. The interior of the store is beautiful, and the staff is always so friendly! They always remember me despite the fact that I don’t actually go all that often. I don’t have a lot of money, and I seldom buy things for myself. However, if I do buy myself something, my go to is to buy a book at Skylark. Moving to MO from IA was a difficult adjustment, but Skylark has that community feel that I missed from my own local downtown. It makes you feel connected to Como.Skylark may not have unlimited breadsticks, but just like Olive Garden, when you’re here you’re family.Lol

Great place to lose yourself for a while. My daughter and I were traveling through Columbia, and she had two requests, Shakespeare pizza and a visit to skylark. Of course, I complied and picked up a freak sounding mystery by a local author.

This is my all-time favorite bookstore andI’ve been to dozens. Skylark Bookshop has a beautiful store, the architecture is amazing, the book selection is phenomenal, and the staff are more than willing to help you find what you need. The store is clean, organized, and it is easy to find what you are looking for. The kids section is also enchanting! I’m in love with this bookstore!

Incredible customer service! Top notch from ordering via email to delivery at my front porch due to COVID19. I was able to email them my request, they ordered it from their source, it arrived quickly and they accepted payment over the phone. It arrived at my door the next day and shipping costs were incredibly fair.Stop buying online folks and just buy from these folks. They seem to be able to get any book you could want and their your neighbor! I really enjoyed my experience and will be buying from them from now on.

Skylark is a small and charming bookstore. The staff are always very friendly, and are knowledgeable about the collection, ready to answer any questions you may have. The selection is not the largest, but effort has been put in to make sure there is a diverse range of books for everyone.

Probably the best COVID measures I've seen in a storefront during a whole year of pandemic. The staff is super friendly and will talk books with you, or just have a pleasant conversation while you browse. I picked up a few books I was looking for and a few I wasn't, and they were all very reasonably priced. This is the ideal bookstore.

Amazing bookstore. It is not just a regular bookstore, it’s an amazing experience! You’ll want to sit and relax and you’ll want to be there for an hour or so. The music, the smell, the color, everything is a great experience in this bookstore. Como here. I highly recommend it, especially if you’re a bookworm like me!

Such a welcoming store that begs book-lovers to come inside and browse: clean, bright and open, without those darkened aisles of bookshelves that make you feel like you’re in a labyrinth. Go smell the new books! This book shop is independently owned, GORGEOUS, and has an excellent selection. I love going here and asking the staff for recommendations for myself and others. They have book spas and book programs!

Certainly the best place to go for books in Columbia and vicinity. They have a great selection of fiction and nonfiction, and the staff is very knowledgeable and friendly.
