What’s not to like about a neighborhood hangout that has a grocery store. You can sit and have a drink of beer or wine and visit with locals while grabbing this and that to out together for supper. My only hesitation about posting this review is that more people will start showing up and I like my peaceful hangout.

Absolutely rude cashier!! Could not believe it! And you have to have their loyalty card to get any of the prices actually on the shelf! Deceiving! Plus! There were refrigerator doors left open and liquid pouring onto the floor! No wet floor signs or anything. The stocking people acted annoyed to be bothered by any question. Never again!

If I could give the store negative stars, I absolutely would. The store is filthy. The meat packages were ripped open. The cashier was rude and refused to get a manager. The cashier kept talking to me like I was stupid, and I was ganged up on three employees. At that point none of them were managers. All of them refused to get me a manager and the only person that knew where anything was in the store was the pharmacist has definitely taken a turn for the worst. I will not be coming back.

Gerbs is my families go to grocery store. They are super affordable and have a wide selection of items. We personally love the seafood and meat department the best. Joey has helped us on multiple occasions in this department and he is great. Very informative and oh so friendly. 10/10 recommend this store!

I scanned my entire cart in self checkout, it beeped like normal for each item. At the end it said I needed an attendant, they came over fixed whatever error... It didn't register a single item... WOW. Totally unacceptable, I just left the cart and walked out. Ruined my day. Maybe pay for a system that doesn't completely suck.

Grocery store is average. Deli is slow and always gives you more weight than you asked for. Worst thing, though? No baskets... How does a grocery store not have baskets? Is this some kind of psychological trick to try to get me to grab a cart and buy more groceries? Not a chance. I come here to buy one kind of lunch meat that Hy-Vee doesn't have and then go to Hy-Vee for the rest. Do better, Gerbes.

Decent-size store, sometimes produce or dairy selections are a bit limited. The Starbucks staff are very friendly, however, and it is one of the better Kroger Starbucks locations I have visited.

Their cattle gates, I mean theft prevention, is absurd. Also, never any fresh veggies. Theyre always out of lettuce, celery and various other produces. Not to mention they hardly have fresh donuts out by 8am. Every other local grocery store has fresh donuts out by 7 am. Their management is slipping. Gerbes is growing more ghetto day by day.

This is my usual grocery store, but I feel like it’s going down hill. There’s rarely a small cart available, the hand baskets are gone 99% of the time, and the theft-prevention methods are getting absurd. I’m starting to wonder what kind of atmosphere the managment’s going for here.

Fun place. It is fairly easy to get into the store once you have parked.Some nice, inviting displays, some meat deals- though, you need to look for them.Usually friendly and helpful for the customer who has questions. Deals are infrequent, though some should be taken advantage of.The coffee and wine bar seem like a good place to meet friends...it is most times hopping. Always check the Asian specialty bar as a few delights happen there as well.The closeout deals are good, as long as you use them that day - this goes especially for the meat choices.

A great grocery store - AVOID order pickup at all costs. I recently started shopping at Gerbes & prefer to do pickup orders for my groceries - 4 orders in a row have ALL been 2+ hours late being ready beyond the pickup window. This is especially inconvenient because several times I drove to the store during my pickup window to be told when I arrived my order wasn't ready, come back in a few more hours. So now I am spending time taking multiple trips back and forth to the store & sitting around all day waiting for order to be ready. Additionally, the last time I placed an order, I called to make sure it was ready before leaving home, and was told they were running behind, please come in 1-2 hours and we will text you when it's ready. Okay - no problem. 2 hours comes and goes and I still have not received a text - I call back again and no one answers the phone, it just rings and rings. I chat with customer service online and am told the store decided to CANCEL my order without even contacting me - so I am sitting around literally half the day waiting for a grocery order they didn't even have an intention of fulfilling. Extremely unprofessional!! Why even offer a pickup service if you don't even try to fulfill orders by their pickup windows - a big waste of everyone's time.

Scammers! This place is a nightmare. Poor selection! Just a lot of the same stuff and no variety. Not to mention the prices are outrageous!!!!! Never again will I shop at a Gerbes

No baskets and everyone wants the smaller more convenient carts but there are only maybe 10 in the whole store... I’ve come multiple times now and I can never seem to get neither a small cart nor a basket. I’m one person I don’t need a giant cart. Super annoying.

Gerbes keeps making changes for the worse. It used to be a decent store, now everyone I know complains about it and many have stopped shopping there. Today was absolutely an exercise in frustration. They have removed MOST of the checkout lanes - this is not an exaggeration - and replaced them with self-checkouts. The self-checkouts are VERY SLOW compared to Walmart or any other store. It takes me forever to checkout just waiting for the machine to beep. I was at Walmart 15 minutes ago and the machines were so much faster in comparison. Also the digital coupons never work. Nobody asked for digital coupons in the first place. Nobody wanted a "Gerbes" app on their phone (this is coming from a guy that makes mobile apps for a living, btw). So each time I use a digital coupon I need to wait for a manager to manually give me credit.They also stopped carrying many of my favorite products.They also now charge for cash back now, ugh. American consumers do not like to be nickel-and-dimed, Kroger....

Self checkout sucks when it's 2 hours from close and there's still only self checkout available for someone with a cart full of groceries couple few hundred dollars worth at least and it has to stand there and can barely fit it all on the shelf and the spinner and every 27 things 37 things 47 thing 57 things oh stop make someone have to come fix it all because you're forced to buy all your groceries through the self checkout. I really bet it's so hard to have one checkout line with someone bagging and scanning so that there wasn't 15 people standing waiting to get to the four only available self check outs. I really do like gerbes they are a great store but not at the end of the day it just seems a lot like we're bothering people on their way out of work.

Second time I purchased Ben & Jerry ice cream (thats not cheap btw) but it was TWO weeks expired from this store. And then they act like it’s no big deal at all.

The store was great and the cheese lady was most helpful and friendly. But... the self checkout associate was rude and sarcastic. I had shopped for a while to get the deals I wanted and I just left the items without finishing my check out. She didn't seem to care. After her sarcastic, " you don't have to take them all out... " meaning the misring on one of the mushrooms, I said "never mind you can have it". She just said "Ok." Maybe this is normal customer service for her. Not for me.

It's my favorite grocery store just because of its location and affordability. I just wish they would quit changing their floor plan. The store is usually clean and well stocked. They could improve upon customer service which seems to be lacking at times.

Not one to normally complain but I've never had a grocery store tell me I can't enter 10 minutes before close. Never had that issue here before either. I understand the frustration of someone coming in before close but I just needed to grab a few things after work. Little disappointing

This store is awful—a joke. Among the litany of issues is the fact that they have zero internet, so you literally cannot use their app in store to get coupons etc. but beyond that—when you choose your coupons before going to the store (ie with internet) half the time they don’t load and you end up not getting to use them. Has happened several times. Customer service is a joke here. Also—hanging at their bar is literally the same creepy man, basically every day and anytime you visit. He stays there constantly, gets drunk, & follows/harasses women around the store. I’ve seen him do this MULTIPLE times, told management, and yet…he’s still always there. They just did a “re” grand opening, but that did about zero good in making this place any more quality or desirable than beforehand. Avoid.

Around the beginning of December I put an order in for donuts to pick up on Dec 24 at 3pm for Christmas morning. I picked my order up and it wasn't exactly what I ordered but my kids would eat it anyway so I went home. Well Christmas morning we all got our donuts and they tasted very very stale. I do this for Christmas for the past 18 years and never have they tasted so stale. I guess I will definitely keep looking for a good place to get donuts for Christmas morning.

Had to use coinstar to exchange some change for some last minute unexpected ingredients I needed to cook my first turkey this year. The ticket from coin machine can be redeemed at the register not just the customer service desk. Made my shopping experience that much more pleasurable.

Always instock. Associates are friendly. They are always willing to help if you cannot find what your looking for. Clean and organized store. Great store!This store recently did a relocation of all the merchandise. There are a couple of depts. that I think don’t make any sense of why they moved them to where they did (example: condiments) but then again the staff doesn’t mind helping you to get to the items your looking for.
