Acola is a little coffee shop in Columbia, MO, but it is also so much more. I feel an incredible emotional response when I walk into this place. It is warm, life-giving, homey, and my soul is at peace with the natural lighting and plants as well as the wooden decor and many nooks/crannies I can find to hide away.Don’t just take my word for it, look at the pictures below. Also, I highly recommend the pistacho latte with oat milk!

Great coffee and their pistachio-white chocolate scones are to die for! Usually scones are really dry, but their recipe is actually even better 👌 I got a London fog, never had it before, delicate and I enjoyed till the last drop. The atmosphere is chill, the place is really clean and the staff is friendly. I did not explore the whole place but I know there are plenty of seats. It reminded me of Northern European coffee places for their minimalist design.

A charming coffee shop with an abundance of seating environments - and LOTS of plants! I came here to grab coffee with a friend and was shocked at how many different spaces there were throughout. It was beautiful outside, so there were lots of folks upstairs outside, but there were also quiet, bright, light-filled nooks for studying or reading. As we explored, it felt like there were more areas around every corner. And there was beautiful greenery everywhere. It was beautiful and inviting, no matter where you went, and I appreciated all the different seating options for different size groups and different goals. We did not get food, but I saw several delicious-looking platters as we walked around, and I enjoyed my tea (and my friend enjoyed his coffee). I would definitely recommend this spot!Parking: There is free street parking around, or there's the parking lot across the street.

Went here for coffee for the first time with my husband earlier this morning... Great experience! My latte was excellent, and he said his cold brew was great also. We flak walking int the door in most places for being together --yes, it still exists; dirty looks, whispers, etc... We get hairs in our food... and coffee. We often walk out or have to never go back... Didn't have the slightest problem here. Glad there was no hair in my coffee! The atmosphere is great, the plants are very nice, the people were friendly. It is designed very well. Definitely my new go-to place for coffee.

The best coffee shop in Columbia hands down. Tomato and mozzarella sandwich is delicious, avocado toast, hummus, spinach artichoke dip, lattes, the atmosphere is amazing with lots of lofty seating filled with plants and beautiful flowers.

Visiting from out of town. Beautiful shop. Loved that they sell Onyx coffee! Unfortunately, service was slow and we were the only people in line. Baristas were busy talking about a trainee and not super focused on service. I also order an iced latte, the barista repeated my order, but I was given a cold brew, which was disappointing… cookies were great, though.

I love their coffee and atmosphere but just having one person making handcrafted coffees makes for a long wait. I arrived at 9:15 am waited in line, placed order ( staff were very polite BTW) but my latte wasn’t ready until 9:50. No good place to stand and wait in the small pickup area. Busy place and needs additional baristas! I probably won’t go back; there’s other good coffee shops around CoMo that can serve more quickly.

I don’t pass through Columbia often, so the last time I was here it was smaller (while they were in the build process). It was excellent back then and it is still excellent. The shop has grown in size but the attention to detail remains the same! Ordered a pour over this time - which is not often offered at shops these days and even then, the chance it is done right is slim. Thats not the case here as it was done perfectly. The barista even warned the cup with hot water while brewing. Doesn’t get more professional than that. Well made coffee. You can tell that they actually care what they serve.

I love to come here to work on my art! It's a very chill vibe with friends meeting up to study or hangout. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. You can get free water refills at their counter and they always have cool and interesting drink specials. It can get busy during the school year, since it's right by a lot of colleges. They have so much indoor seating with couches, tables, bar areas and communal tables. There is also outside seating on the balcony. The attached florist shop is also very sweet and you can sit in their area as well. Never had a bad experience here :) Wi-fi is reliable and free as well with no time limit.

Where do I begin to talk about the very special place that is Acola Coffee Company!? I suppose starting with the coffee would make sense, but that’s not what makes this space warm and delightful. It’s the people!!! Acola’s baristas are some of the kindest, most authentic people you will get the pleasure to meet. The coffee that keeps you wanting more is just a plus!! :))) You can visit alone on a study date OR bring your friends and enjoy each other’s company. Take in all the natural lighting and sip on some yummy lattes. The two-hour drive for me is worth it! You’re doing an amazing job Annie!!!!!!

If you're looking for a peaceful place to have a nice cup of coffee, catch up with some reading and just be--this is the place for you. Had some really good coffee--a vanilla latte--and enjoyed reading the vox as the sun sets. Loved the white decor with all the plants for some much needed photosynthesis. Visited twice already and will definitely go back!

Super cute coffee shop! Working next door, and the aroma is killer all day long! Had a caramel cold brew, and was not disappointed! Seems to be a great little hangout, as they are busy all day! Staff was very courteous and helpful. BEAUTIFUL mother-in-laws tongue inside the doorway! ❤️❤️❤️

My favorite study spot! The coffee is tasty. My personal favorite is their Burundi. It’s a nice smooth medium roast with some delicious high notes. The espresso is robust but creamy, with a beautiful crema. WiFi is always fast and reliable. The staff is friendly and all good baristas. If I had a nickel for every time I went to Three Story for a matcha latte and study sesh, I’d have enough money to buy another matcha latte.

Love the vibe of this coffee shop! Neutral-toned, calming, atmosphere with lots of live plants and nooks to enjoy your visit. Outdoor seating is located upstairs on the roof, and looks out over the northern arts district.

This is hands down the best coffee shop I've ever been to. Seriously. The coffee is the best I've ever had, The decor is so relaxing, and the staff are super nice. A friend introduced me to Three Story about a month ago and I've been hooked ever since. I come here at least 3-4 times per week now, and I'm even on a first name basis with some of the baristas. All of the friends I bring also say it's the best coffee they've ever had. It can get a little crowded, but I imagine more people will utilize the deck area in warmer weather. The wifi is also exceptional. The ONLY downside is that I've seen staff pull their masks down for extended periods of time a few times, and there are not many tape markers on the floor or COVID precautions (at least, not as many as I think there should be. Masks are of course required to enter, though.)All in all, I highly recommend this shop to anyone looking for amazing coffee in such an adorable space!

It's not often that I review on Google, but I had to give a shoutout to one of my fave coffee places EVER. From Los Angelas to New York, there is nowhere like Acola Coffee Company. The staff (Brooke and Tyler especially) are brilliant and kind, matching any energy that walks in the door. With a smile and a nod, they could help the most novice coffee drinker or make a delicious drink for the trickiest coffee snobs of our time. And don't get me started on the beauty of the shop itself! It is eclectic and homey; a great space for quiet study hours or for your next staff meeting. And its gigantic! I could come here everyday for the rest of my life (I wish this was possible!!), and I don't think I could possibly see every plant in Acola. Kudos to Annie for running the best coffee shop in Colombia, MO, if not the best coffee shop in the universe.

Amazing building and location. We where absolutely in love with the interior and all the different seating options. A great spot to have a conversation or get some work done. Lovely rooftop as well. Unfortunately they where out of the matcha which is what we came for so we did leave and went elsewhere but will definitely try it again.
