Like all animal shelters they are OVERCROWDED and understaffed.The staff LOVES and does the best thay can. Conditions are APPALLING for the cats and dogs, no fault of the shelter. The problem of course is BEYOND resolution. Never will they get enough money to SOLVE the problem. This is like poverty homelessness, and discrimination between NATIONS. Jesus said, "The poor you will ALWAYS have with you, me you will not."

Called to see if they can take my 2 dogs because we’re moving. Not only was Leslie rude from the start but she asked questions about what kind of dogs they were just to say, “no way in hell are we going to house them” after I said they were German Shepherd/Mastiff. Never had this issue with the Shelter in Trenton. I would highly recommend them over this rude, unprofessional place. Makes me wonder how the animals are treated here. STAY FAR AWAY. SAVE THE ANIMALS, GO SOMEPLACE ELSE!!!

We came to pick up a friends dog and we talked to a lady at 11 this morning and she told us to be here by 3:30 because they close at 4. It's 3:10. We're here. Gates are locked and nobody is answering the phone. Wasted an hour trip to Chillicothe. Fantastic. Thanks lady.

So glad my son and I went to the shelter today. We looked at a few dogs and even got the chance to bring one out for a meet and greet. Leslie does an amazing job keeping the place clean. All the animals look very well nourished. I totally enjoyed my visit today. Thank you Leslie and crew!! 😍

All employees here are very compassionate about their job.A stray dog showed up at my house and I was unable to keep her due to the fact that I already have three dogs and two cats living in my house but she was the most sweet-natured dog I've ever come across I did not want her to go to a shelter that does not have a no-kill policy the county that I live in does euthanize dogs after a period time and after calling and speaking to them and explaining my situation and how sweet natured she was they agreed to take her in and I am so thankful for thatI would like to give an extra thank you to the lady that got her out of my car took her for a little walk and rubbed her belly down when she laid down and was just looking for that attention I felt so comfortable leaving upon seeing how good she was with her she gave me the extra assurance that I was doing the right thing by taking the dog there when I seen that occurTHANK YOU !!!!THANK YOU !!!!THANK YOU !!!!FOR ALL THAT YOUS ALL DO

There phones weren’t working for 2 days. Someone dumped a stray on my road in the county. Carroll Sheriff dept advised me to take it here. Tried calling before I came up. Lady I dealt with had terrible attitude with me. I have posted on FB, contacted 3 different rescues, no one wanted this dog. She chases my cats and chickens and runs out to the highway. I did my best to find her a home, I don't need the attitude of the shelter because they are at capacity. What are people supposed to do?? Chillicothe PD said they have to take the dog because they are state funded. Again, no one needs attitude for crummy circumstances.

I could not be happier.Lesley is a lovely lady and extremely helpful. She is very kind and understanding and quick to offer help for my situation. This is the best Animal Shelter I have ever seen! Lesley is just a great person, that loves animalsThe time she has spent talking with me and helping so many of us through this nightmare we are in will never be forgotten. I had and unfortunate circumstances that come up and ask lesly if she could board my two dog until I got into my own place... we made a 30 day arrangement for me to come pick up my pets... I was notified today the she had them both euthanized and it has only been about 18 days.... they didn’t even have the courage to call me and let me know that this was being done. This is the most vile place and is supposed to be a no kill shelter.... I lost my two best friends chaos and buster.. their stories keep changing the more I talk to them...

Leslie was wanting $100 to take in puppies and was VERY RUDE AND CUT ME OFF for not wanting toPay and have pups go to a shelter. RIDICULOUS DO NOT RECOMMEND
