I have been shopping here intermittently since I moved here seven years ago. They usually always have what I need and stock the best quality products. I have not had any issues shopping here until recently. The past two times I have gone to shop I am not allowed to just browse or look at items alone. A shop associate is literally hovering over me constantly. If I do get away just to look, my every move is being diligently watched. I don't know if there has been some thefts recently or what, but I feel so unwelcome and like I am a criminal or something. I also feel intense pressure to make a decision and get out the door. Most horse people know sometimes it's just about going to spend time browsing and enjoying the aroma of leather at the local tack store. It is a shame I no longer have a relaxing and positive shopping experience here.

I am disappointed with my experience at this shop, I bought tall boots, breeches, and gloves. They did have a nice selection, however they’re sale racks are extremely misleading. The 50% off rack is not what you would think, when I went up with my breeches from the 50% off sale rack I was told they are not on sale and just the sticker price.

I started shopping at the tack trunk at age 13 (when I got my first horse). In MO we don’t have many tack shops with the quality product they have. However, the amount of times I’ve felt uncomfortable or unwelcome because of my skin color is unacceptable & something that needs to be said. Myself and one other woman of color equestrian in the are are consistently mixed up by the staff here. We have addressed it multiple times explaining that we aren’t the same person. We rode at the same barn and with the same trainer many years ago, but even then know that we are different. We don’t look much alike or even ride alike, but our skin color is the exact same. She has dreads & I have long curly hair, she wears glasses, has nose piercing etc. I do not. However, we are consistently grouped together as one person. I also always feel eyes on me when I’m walking around and looking at things. This isn’t with all the employees, but a couple of them. I spend hundreds of dollars at a time with this company. The fact that they can’t remember my name or not mix me up with the one other rider of color is extremely disappointing & I won’t be quite about it anymore. It’s not fair for us to have to consistently go through this & be exhausted by it. When someone is spending this much money with you, the least that you could do is remember their name/understand that they are their own individual.The quality of the products are great though & I have never had an issue with what I bought. I just hate having to go in there because of the issue listed above. I now do my best to look everywhere else first before I step foot into this store.

I love this place for all my equestrian needs. Although I wish their consignment section was a little bigger I rather go here than purchase stuff online for the sheer fact I can actually see it's quality before I buy. The staff is friendly and always willing to help.
