I love this small town grocery store. Cashiers are always friendly. Floor people are always helpful and has always checked on everything I have ever asked about. The Deli Crew is AWESOME. Every shopping trip involves a stop at the deli.

Closest grocery store to us, so we use it in a pinch. The convenience is offset by the cost of food... more expensive at Prenger in general. Very limited selection.

Most things are overly priced and since it's the only grocery store in Centralia, it's irritating, but when asking where something was they helped us look for what we were looking for, they didn't have it (Coconut cream) but they tried.

Nice home town style grocery store. The cashiers were pleasant, and the prices were decent also. The place was clean and friendly. For me personally, that is a big selling point. Pretty much will determine whether or not I would shop there again. I found all the items I needed at the time. Also, a bonus to see shelves stocked well. If I'm in the area again, I would most likely shop here again. The people of Centralia are pretty lucky to have this store in their town.

This was the first place that I have ever been in that gave me the advantage of shopping for groceries and actual home hardware, where people smiled 😃 and asked numerous times if I needed any assistance.

I feel fortunate to have such a nice grocery store in my little town. It's not the best store ever, but much more than I would have expected in such a small community. I shop there to support them and thank Prengers for providing an alternative to shopping out of town.

Most of the workers are friendly and helpful. The prices are outrageous, but it is the only grocery store in town. No competition. The meat is not good. I can't tell you how many times I have bought hamburger that is nice and red on the outside but the inside is grayish brown, smells, and is basically worthless.

The customer service was fantastic considering I made it there five minutes to them closing. The two employees had nothing but helpfulness in their voices. They have a great pre made dessert selection and I enjoy every bite. They're selection of products are diverse and I have compared certain items that I specifically buy with other grocery/retail stores and I have found that the prices do not differ to much and I am willing to pay the little bit of difference if it helps to make my shopping experience an enjoyable one.

Great if you do not want to run into town or just buying on sale. Regular price items will pay for gas for you to travel. Small town with no competition. Sale or single item friendly only.

Great staff, prices are fair for a small town grocery store. Meat is of good quality. They do offer carryout service for no charge. May have issues finding the less commonly used items however, but for the most part I can almost always get what I need there, and have a pleasant shopping experience.

Staff is friendly. But when it came time to check out, the cashier was not the friendly and she was in a rush to help to the next customer, I didn't get all of my items I purchased. I felt rushed and you are not supposed to feel that way. And not getting all of the items you paid for!?! This happened on August 19, 2021. In the evening. Great staff, but poor service at the end.

Too Too expensive . Only picked up a couple items on my list. Left and went to $general in sturgeon and walmart in moberly.I feel sorry for the older people of centralia. This is the only grocery store. Prices were always high in this store before the price hikes.

Always seem to wait in long lines before anyone is called to help check. Today during checkout the register crashed. Management eventually came to reboot the system. It was a very long wait. Once up and running, she walked off and couldn’t even apologize for the inconvenience. I work in Columbia. These types of experiences are making it easy to switch my shopping choice.Posting again a year later. Continue to be frustrated by long lines and a lack of checkers. Today at 8:30 I was stuck in a line. The only checker up front paged asking for another to help check. No one ever came. A few weeks ago I was in a line stretching all the way back to the bread isle. Again, only one checker. More help was requested and it took forever for someone to come. I’ve joked that if the store was open 24 hours and I came at 1 am, I’d be stuck in a line. There are times I walk in, see the line and then just turn around and leave. My favorite is when multiple people are at the service desk looking at the line but do nothing.

The only positive I have to say is, "It's convenient to have a grocery store close by., and they have protective shields up at the registers."Unfortunately, their customer service, friendliness, and concern for their fellow citizen, is deplorable. Just yesterday, as I was sitting in the parking lot, debating whether to go in due to NOBODY wearing a mask, there were two local ppl talking outside my vehicle after they came out of the store, complaining about the cashiers. They said a man in his 80's checking out ahead of them, had 6 bags of groceries, but nobody offered to help him out with his bags, and other cashiers were standing around talking, doing nothing . They elaborated how tired they are of seeing this lack of respect for their customers, and the utter shame of quality service everytime they go in there. "My, how times have changed. They have no morals, or the respect that we grew up knowing. They care nothing about their customers."They went on to say, "We need another grocer here to run them out of business." And, I couldn't agree more! I have never been asked if I wanted help out, have never been asked by the stocking employees in the isles, if I needed help finding anything, etc.. They don't even say, "Hi." Most of the time, the cashiers don't even say, "Thank you." I have stood there and listened to cashiers complain/talk about other ppl/employees, never engage in talking to me (their paying customer), and the majority of them have a less than friendly attitude. How about, "Hello, how are you today? Did you find everything you need? Would you like some help out? ....Now, the lack of protective measures to curb this virus. I realize there is no mandate in order, but how about using some common sense! Even when there was a mandate, they refused to enforce it with customers. A sign was on the door, but that's as far as it went. When I brought this to the cashiers attention, she said, "We don't have to enforce it. Our manager said we don't have to." When I stressed the importance of they doing so to protect our community, she instead, argued with me, was a smart aleck, and disregarded anything I said. Meanwhile, multiple conversations going on with mostly female customers, yacking away with the cashiers, and No Masks on anyone. Disgusting! You'd think this was the local, gossipy beauty salon rather than professional, essential, business.

I like that Prengers has been around for a while and it gives locals somewhere to shop for groceries. I personally do everything I can to avoid Prengers because of their extremely high prices. No their prices are not due to recent inflation as they have ALWAYS been very high. Honestly with the cost of everything going up I do not see how anyone especially your families on fixed incomes can afford to shop here. They know they can get by with it being the only grocery store in town.

I stopped shopping here when I continued to get spoiled dairy products that were not near the expiration date but curdled and soured before they were even opened which means they were improperly being stored at the store. The "fresh" pies had mold on them regularly. Prices are ridiculous, it's the only grocery store in a small town and they price gouge because of it.

I guess ok. Only buy what I can afford here. And you have to keep an eye your receipt. Several times in the past months, I have had to go in & get money back for things on sale because it wasn't changed in the register or sale cards were not taken down when 'off sale'.

Bought this yesterday. It’s expired. Check everything you put into your cart from here. When buying fruit check for mold because most everything has it.

It's a great little hometown grocery store that carries most items you need for your family's meal plans. The isles are wide enough for 2 cars to pass and they are pretty well organized. I dont expect a store in a town this size to carry tons of varieties but they do have a good selection of the basics. I love that they carry Traeger pellets and they have great prices on those. The chicken wingettes and drummies are usually pretty good quality. They do have a small selection of gluten free breads which is great for my son who is allergic to regular breads. Chris is a great manager who will listen to suggestions and will stock things you ask for!

Good deals on meat and some frozen foods. Condiments and canned foods are a bit expensive. Great small town feel. Staff are eager to help and are very friendly.

Very clean store. Most staff are friendly. Prices a little high but I guess thats to be expected in such a small town. Large selection and good sized deli dept. Just needs smoked gouda cheese (hint hint).

Had a Very bad experience with the guy in the meat department. Very bad attitude! I drove from Mexico after hearing from a friend about a meat special. Then to learn he " ain't cutting it for the special price" Then had to hear how he was in quarantine for the last two weeks and he didn't know what other people had done for others, but he wasn't. Then with the manager standing there he said " what more can i do for you!!!" Then he walked away. Then manager told me he has a chip on his shoulder. Not to mention he had fairly long hair hanging out of his hat. Very bad for business!!! Prengers looking elsewhere for my business!!!I was in a couple weekends ago to give them another shot. I was Very pleased with thier sevice and selection. They now have a sign that reads we cut your meat for free. Different meat guy and was Very pleasant to work with. 5 stars Prengers!!!
