Love this store. Selection is quite varied, prices are quite reasonable, staff attentive and well trained. This place is a home cook's dream. Bought some honey, fudge and a lemon meringue pie, very delicious. Will be back as soon as I can.

Awesome place. They make a mean sandwich on homemade bread. Currently ( late February 2024). They have onion sets strawberry plants and seed potatoes. If you love plants, this is a dangerous place. lol

Garden center beautiful, pretty flower pots and very helpful. Grocery shopping alot of natural and a deli. Other household odds and ends, Adirondack hand made chairs, porch swings etc. Plenty of gravel parking. I purchased cheese and Homemade raisin And wheat bread

This was our first visit and we were not disappointed. We got a delicious loaf of raisin bread and some pumpkin whoopee pies from the bakery where they were making all kinds of breads, rolls, cookies, and more. The coffee from the bean to cup grinder and brewing machine was excellent. This store is packed with spices, baking ingredients, frozen fruits, frozen pies, canned goods, cheeses, specialty grocery items, and health foods that cannot be found just anywhere. One special brand that sets Shirk's Country Market apart from other specialty food stores in the area is Marie Sharp's hot sauce. Even though this is the best habanero pepper sauce in the world it is hard to find in the US because it's a small company in Belize that makes all their own sauce from their locally grown peppers. There are not many distributers in North America. There are several blends ranging from mild to super hot. I've been to several countries and tried all kinds of hot sauces but none compare to Marie Sharp's. If for no other reason you need to visit this store just to get the best hot sauce. Shirk's also offer fresh produce from the best local growers.

I was not sure what to expect when I walked into the store (it is run it by the Amish, I believe), since I am not from the area, but I was elated with what I found inside. Immediately, you are hit with the smell of the bakery, and it is fantastic! They had so many interesting and unique items on their shelves, from beet pickled eggs, micro marshmallows, frozen “homemade” biscuits (with no chemicals, because they made them themselves), dandelion jelly, and so many other interesting things.....I know that if I lived nearby, I would be there quite often.My main goal was bakery items, and I was overly excited by what I saw and was extremely pleased with what I bought. The strawberry pie, made with fresh strawberries in a lovely strawberry gel/sauce with real whipped cream on top, was the best I’ve had, and I even enjoyed the crust, which was flaky and slightly sweet. They had many variations of whoopee pies, and I ended up getting a marshmallow cream pie. It was delightful, with the “cream“ not quite being marshmallow, not quite being icing, and tinged with cinnamon, which was really nice surprise.You are able to get sandwiches and other food there, but I didn’t pay all that much attention to those things. They had a small produce section, with some locally grown items (it was the first week of June, so I would think they would have more local produce later in the summer). The store was clean, everyone was friendly.This place is pretty much right in the middle of Missouri, just west of Jefferson City off US Highway 50, and easy to find.Next time I am in the area, I will certainly stop by!

I loved this place! I regret not buying a spider plant, I'm going to have to go back and see if they still have them in the greenhouse. I'm a plant lover and the greenhouse was so nice to just walk in. I loved the spices in the store labeled if they were msg free or not plainly. It seemed the store was more friendly for people with food sensitivities, everything was more clearly labeled and I appreciated that.

A great little shop to get bulk food and spices. My wife got an incredible batch of fresh blueberries. Great for spices and raw ingredients etc... they also have a nice little sandwich shop!

Convenient, paved parking; helpful, friendly customer service; reasonable prices on everything from groceries to deli sandwiches, bulk candy to bulk spices, home-made pies, breads and cookies, beautiful hand-crafted outdoor furniture and swings to the most beautiful greenhouse plants, flowers and everything in between! People come from all over to visit Shirks and you should too! Well worth the drive!

Love shopping in this Amish style store! Calm, peaceful ambience. Huge selection of bulk herbs and spices! Love their deli (sandwiches are fresh and delicious)! Lots of bulk candy, noodles, sauce mixes, baked breads, homemade pies, and ready-to-bake items. Lots of frozen goodies, too. Check out their kitchen ware, candles, and nice giftables. Make sure to check out their garden center. Found unusual choices of herbs, vegetables, and flowers for my gardens. Wonderful staff make shopping here a real pleasure!

My new favorite place!!! Little pricey but well worth it. I bought several things and everything was amazing. Bought dried green been snack ....awesome, frozen spicy chicken patty....awesome. Dill pickles....awesome. Oh and have been looking all over for SF gummy bears, guess what , found them and they were yep u guessed it....awesome. Tomatoes are garden fresh. I also bought catfish nuggets and banana bread but haven’t tried yet but I know it’s going to be great. I love this store not just because everything was wonderful it is like everything I wish I had time to do but it’s already done without the work on my part. Wanted fresh tomatoes but no time to plant and keep a garden. Wanted to make homemade gummies and homemade pickles but now I don’t need to worry cause it’s already done for me. Thank you thank you thank you. This store has filled my heart n I’ll be back.
