I use to love this store now, they no longer accept returns or even exchanges and their prices have really gone up. They use to have more half price days but not anymore. Arkansas is about the same distance and their Goodwill still offer exchanges or store credit and they still have half price on certain tag color and in Sundays the weeks half price color is a $1 and another tag color is half price so, this is where I now do the majority of my shopping. My friends and I head to Arkansas and make a fun day of it.

Today I shopped with my teen daughter at the Carthage, Missouri store. I have shopped at this location for many years, since it opened in this area. I have shopped with my children there MANY times. Today, my daughter and I entered a fitting room together as we have many times before and were surprised by a knock shortly after. An associate informed us that we were not allowed to have more than one person in a fitting room at a time. I awkwardly protested that I was her mother, but complied and stood in the doorway of the entrance to the fitting rooms. While I stood there, I looked all around at the posted rules for the fitting rooms. I saw nothing stating that fitting rooms could only be occupied by one person at a time. I have never in all my years shopping there, ever been scolded for assisting my daughter in a fitting room. I hope it was worth losing a longtime customer to uphold a rule that is not even posted. Disappointed!

I initially was very impressed with their store. I purchased an espresso decorative plate which also was displayed on a small plain metal stand. I live out of town. I get home and I have my plate but no stand. I call the store they tell me the stand is goodwill property. I told her I wouldn't have purchased it if I known. I tried propping the plate on the counter, it slides so I still had my recept and decide to go back and return it. I get to the register with my receipt for the worker to tell me they font take returns other than electronics. I voiced that was stupid and said I didn't want it. I left the store . Decided to call and ask why they couldn't return it ...it was 3 dollars and I had receipt? Her response was " my hands are tied" . So now I'm upset out of principle..it's 3 dollars..I even left the plate at the store. I've never had goodwill not return an item with receipt or give such push back to a customer over 3 dollars. And to false advertise an item with a stand and still give push back .

Last time i was there was about 8 mths ago. The prices on the clothes are rediculas. (Were) I can buy the same from Walmart for same or cheaper.I'm going back to Goodwill today. I'm curious to see the prices. Hopefully the ppl there won't be the same. The workers were generally snoty. It's interesting to see how others deal with the workers snotyness. Some take it, some don't. Snotyness IS a word😁

Bought a telescope for 50 bucks, figured for that much it would be complete. Could not use it as it was missing pieces and a few things were broke. I called to see if I could bring it back so just got it yesterday. They only do returns on electronics. Be nice if they told me when I purchased it.Update. Called the number listed, everything was resolved very quickly, they let me return it to a different store and refunded. Thank you so much! I very much appreciate it!

I love shopping here! I read the reviews about employees and I don’t agree. I have almost always have great interactions with the employees. I have only had one issue and it was resolved very professionally. I know some people complain about prices but if you shop on sale days or check for the numbered sale tags you can find amazing deals. I have purchased the majority of my daughters school clothes there. I have spent around $125 for well over $1000 worth of clothes. The jeans alone equals almost $1000 and most were new with tags and all name brand. I got them all at the half price sale. It’s easy to get irritated over things and my advice is ask to talk to a manager.

It’s been a few years since I shopped here while passing through on a road trip. I was so confused by the way they organized clothing by color rather than size. When I checked out, I asked the worker why they didn’t do it by size and she laughed and said “are you kidding? That would take forever! We don’t have time to check sizes on everything”. I couldn’t even believe that was her response. I have been to Goodwills all across the country and every single one separates clothing by size. I think it says a lot about the people making decisions here. Maybe time for some retail training.

This store is very organized, clean and easy to shop and I've never left empty handed...BUT, the older, short haired woman with glasses (who I believe is actually a manager) that has been previously mentioned in reviews, is, in fact VERY rude, snappy and off-putting! If it weren't for the great deals to be had, I would not return. Seriously Goodwill, there are some very kind, helpful employees here that you should consider for a promotion and let the grouchy, old woman see her way to the door!

I love this Goodwill store. It is always clean, well organized, and has the best items. There are always cute outfit suggestions put together which can include sunglasses, jewelry, shoes and scarves. Once in a while prices are a little high for a thrift store, but I feel like I don't have to stand and sort through a lot of junk to find a treasure. Great sales. Nice staff. I don't live in Carthage but go out of my way to stop by when I'm traveling!

I used to love shopping in this store. Now their pricing is horrible. Instead of marking all items in a category the same price they try to price things bt brand. I found a pair of Lucky jeans that were so worn out that the printing on the tag had washed off and they were marked $25.00. What a complete rip off! These clothes are donated!

The store itself is a nice store. I use to love going to good will but not so much anymore. The employees are very rude especially the lady's. One of them has dirty blonde hair and the other lady has short black hair real skinny and wears glasses. I think she might be the manager. Anyway ever time my friend and I go to the good will store that one lady with the short black hair follows us around the store. She tries to act like she's straighting up the racks. I told my friend watch when we move across the store to where the shoes are. We went across the store to the shoes and I whispered to my friend and said look here she comes. My friend shook her head said that's bull. That women would follow us around like we going to steal something and so rude. They need to get rid of her.

Prices are extremely high on wore out shoes and we didn't even bother to look at the clothes. There are a lot better and cheaper thrift stores that give people more than 3 cents of every dollar for the stuff that is donated to them. Please patronize the stores that are not as greedy with stuff that comes free to them.

The workers were THE RUDEST people I have ever seen!! The store itself was the nicest "Goodwill" I have ever been in! But the employees were the worst! The young dark headed girl was great!..But, the old lady and the lady with glasses were hateful and very rude! This is a store to help people, not degrade them. Need to clean out the bad apples!

I've shopped Carthage goodwill for quite some time and visited today for the first time since masks were required. I put one on upon entering but didn't put one on my 3 year old since I didn't think children were required to so young. I was asked by the manager to put one on my child which I did . And my daughter wouldn't leave it on ( who would've thought a child would keep one on anyway ) it was on and off her face several times , chewed on and dropped on the floor ( imagine that ) .besides glueing it to my kids face what else was I to do ? then the manager came back up to me and said she needs to have a mask on and when I said she had several times but wouldn't leave it on the manager then said she needs to wear it . At which point I walked off up towards the checkout , trying to avoid confrontation. And the manager followed me up to register and checked me out . And then after exiting the store another employee came out to ask me if I was waiting for a ride ( because I was messing with my phone I'm thinking they thought I was calling the higher ups when I was just waiting for my friend who was still inside ) . While we were in the store, like most other times , my child was in the cart behaving , not running thru clothing, not acting out . This particular manager has complained about my child " not riding in the cart properly " before . She's seriously overstepped this time ! And I will not be shopping there again ! I really wish they'd reply to this with a number I could personally complain to . I hate confrontation but that was too far

It was nice to be able to go in Goodwill. Found a shirt that was perfect for what I needed. Prices were great. You must wear a mask and that made me feel better. Store is nice and clean.

Wow update...after seeing post about the same rude lady mentioned over a year ago...and she is still employed there??? Hmm..at least put her in the back of the store away from the customers....please!!!The older small lady with glasses was totally Rude and snotty today and has been on almost every occasion. Things missing button or zippers and are 6 plus bucks. I can get it new next door for the same price. Don't waste your money here. Might as well go to Walmart.

Have attempted to seek employment here multiple times and job sites report open positions. Problem is you do it online , are interrupted by ads constantly. I have only completely an application one time on these job sites. Not efficient. I do3nt want insurance, credit rating or anything else on those sites. I am amazed if they ever get a new hire.

This store is clean, I'll give them that.. but the prices are laughable! $90 for an outdoor jacket. Store is RIDICULOUSLY overpriced. You're a thrift store, not a boutique. Other locations are way better.

This Goodwill thinks it’s a resale shop. Overheard cashier tell a customer the reason a shirt was 24.99$ was because it was a designer label. Ridiculous- do you not remember the reason Goodwill was founded, get back to that please! Very disappointed

The clothes are separated by color instead of size it's time consuming to go through a whole rack of clothes to find your size. The Joplin store is not like this. I have also noticed that their prices are always increasing. They need someone in the store that knows how to price items. Some of the prices are a joke.

It always amazes me how much the salvation army stores charge for clothes that have been donated. But their selection was very good. And I did find some good bargains. Clean store.

So glad to see a Goodwill that sorts the clothing by size! So much easier to look at clothing and they have an impressive quantity and quality. Neat, clean and organized.
