Messaged back and forth a couple times to set up an appointment for a meet and greet with my dog and the dog I wanted to adopt. Everyone was super helpful and accommodating. Met the dog I planned on adopting in a clean, open, covered area outside. The "behavior team" gave me as much info as they could. It was love at first sight. Java (renamed Jax) came home with us that day. The whole team made sure I had his vet papers and current food/feed plan. We had our pic taken and I have been able to send updates. Entire experience was exceptional!

Found Comet here! He is just what we were looking for. So kind, are the people there and handle animals so well. Our little comet was named quite well. We did rename him Simeon, but Comet still comes to mind all too well. Thank you staff for being so wonderful to our future 🧡 friends.

what a blessing this place is. they are all so nice sweet and helpful. they offer a program to help fix your pet called snap. thankfully because of this place I was able to get the help needed. I'd recommend this place anytime. thank you to the team at southeast pet's for being of such help to me, my furr baby and family.

This place is cool. I've been 3 different times and each time I fall in love with a critter. I'm not usually here for my though ... helping family connect with their next best friend. The people are great, the pets are great, the building is great too!

AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME. The compassion and love the staff has for the animals. is very touching. they were soo patient with me while answering the million of questions i had. I have not one complaint I can come up with. The building and animals were very clean and kept up.

I found my kitten here. They were friendly and helped me out. I knew when I went in that I wanted Moo and I couldn't be happier. I will be back for my next furbaby.

I hate to give a review like this and 3 of my animals came from here and everything went great getting a new pet every time from there!!! Now the reason I gave a 1 star today, there was a stray cat around my house and nobody claimed it so took it up there and it was a big hassle. First it was fill out a online thing so tried to do that which nothing applied to me because it wasn’t my cat then the lady told me to basically leave it in the street because they could not take it. So after awhile arguing with her the lady told me that if they took it then one of the employees were gonna have to take it home. Then there was a guy in there giving them a big donation so she wanted me to be quiet and walk with her so he wouldn’t hear me talking about it. Then she told me she was gonna get in trouble but if I made a big donation she wouldn’t get in as much trouble. So basically what I thought was the right thing ended up being a big pain in the butt. I just didn’t want a little cute kitty getting hit by a car but this lady was worried about a big donation. I just gave her $20 to shut her up and take the cat so it would be safe.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice big facility that is kept very clean. They let you check out the pets yourself without following or pressuring you. They have little rooms that you can have time to play and interact with any of the pets your interested in. It’s a great facility all around and there are a lot of great animals that need a new home.

I put an application in for SNAP almost 3 months ago and have not heard one word back from them. I called and they told me the application was sitting on the woman's desk. Why advertise help neutering cats if you're going to just ignore the applications. Not even a phone call. Don't ask them for help.

This was the hardest them we ever had to do! We had our house burn down Sunday morning, and bc of my dogs aggression, we had to surrender him. They were so awesome with their help!

My son drove four hours round trip after developing a plan with SEMO pets to take a stray that was taken in. He had behavioral issues and they were going to take him. After arriving, they said for the boys to get training for three months, and if that didn't work they should have him put down. Very unprofessional all around...

Thanks for letting me take my time to look and visit your Beautiful home with the.pets there everyone is so friendly and helpful and happy to be able working there. Best experience I have had I would rate you 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ the best!!!Congratulations on your new place 😊 I found the beautiful cat I wanted to adopt but when I called to tell them I was going to pick her up they had told me that they would call me if someone else wanted to adopt her but instead they went ahead and adopted her to someone else after telling me that they would call me first which they did.no do. I changed my rating for them to three ⭐⭐⭐ instead of five. Two days after I had told them I wanted to adopt her!!!!

I adopted a 2 year old cat named Santana.They were so friendly and even gave us a packet with information on how to introduce Santana to the cat we already had. However, after we got him home we noticed that he had fleas really bad, bad enough that he was bleeding a little bit underneath his chin from the amount of fleas. I understand they have a lot of animals but we have had nothing but problems with fleas since we got him. I have given him multiple flea bathes, fogged the house for fleas so he didn’t get them again and I got him a flea collar but I still keep finding them on him. It would’ve been nice to have them taken care of before we got him.

Everyone was so friendly and helpful. You can tell how much they care for these animals. The shelter was so clean and open, giving each pet room.Our new baby is 8 months old. Our first evening together has gone smoothly. A big shot ot to who was sponsoring the Empty the shelter, and also to Bush Foods for the adoption starter gift basket, it was well above what I ever expected.

We adopted a 8 month old Shepherd/Great Dane mix from this wonderful facility. They went above and beyond to work with us as this was an out of state adoption. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly! I can say from personal experience that they go very far to make sure the animals going through their non-profit facility go to the right loving responsible home. The negative reviews on here don't line up with our experience. I highly recommend looking at their program called "Paws for Parole". These dogs come out of the program well behaved and trained. As a previous dog trainer I can say this level of training can cost thousands of dollars. Our gentle giant Izzy (Formally known as Candy) came to us potty trained, obedience trained, and with a beautiful level attitude that takes months of dedicated training to achieve. If I could give this place 6 stars I would!

They make adoption easy. Show u dogs ,give you time with them ,fees little high but they are lifelong companions,my family have adopted 4 dogs there,everyone of them had kennel cough when got them home even though the had shots. So be careful,but they are great people in charge

We've had Sami for 1.5 months. He was a terrified pup. He wouldn't come out of his kennel or eat for 2 full days. He is a nervous pup sudden movements or noises may make him pee a little. But hey it may me too! He's progressing tho. He doesn't care for men but loves so ok!!! Daddy tries so hard to win him over. He sits kennels and is a very smart pup. We love him so much and think God brought us the perfect pup for us!!!!

The people here really care about the animals and are very good at paring people up with a great match for a furry friend! I adopted my dog from them and they were nothing but helpful! They are very honest about the pets!

The staff and facility of SEMO Pets are fantastic. The shelter itself is clean, well-maintained, & a great place for the animals. The staff is friendly, helpful, understanding, & empathetic. We have adopted from them and also trusted them with the final arrangements for our beloved pets, & they have impressed us at every opportunity.

Found a stray cat. Posted on every social media and no one claimed her. Took her to the vet to check for microchipping and she was not. Called the humane society to see if they would take her in and Gina was very rude. I brought the kitten in and she told me that the cat was well fed and probably someone’s cat and made it seem like I shouldn’t have brought the cat in. The staff was very rude today and when I got my cat from them years ago. Hope the kitty gets adopted cause she’s super sweet but they are horrible people and will never be back

They need more special days for discounted adoptions. This close to holidays , A whole week in December or something
