Less than one Star! My experience with Academy was nothing but a Terrible experience due to incopadence & total lack of customer service! or Bad training. You don't have to worry about your getting a parking spot in your lot, in comparison to your competition there in your town. Their lots were packed?? Maybe you should check out why? I called this store the day before. (3- times) Just so I didn't have to waste my time Because I'm Old & Disabled and really don't like to drive that far.(about 140 miles round trip) Anyway checked at the Gun counter for availability, later called back talked to manager* to make sure they were in stock and correct Mossberg/Defender long tube 12 gage pistol grip (only*) I explained my situation to him and asked him if he* would please double check to confirm availability!?! Your Manager responded: We had it on a in store special and he knew that they had several of the right Ones* and that the gun dept. was at the back of the store(??, So what!! If nothing else he already had a phone in his hands) but anyway, he sounded intelligent & confident. SO the next morning, I drove all the way down and Guess What? No gun! Well we can order it! Totally B.S. , I'm Pissed 😡 . I walked around the store trying to find something else to buy, not to waste all my time and gas, but I couldn't find anyone to help me so I got even More upset. So I decided to tell your: Manager......He was corgel, and told me that he would get his side of the story and get Right back to me....OK! Well that was 9-days ago!! Nada! Nothing, Completely Blew me off!! Thanks for the Great Costumer Service!! I checked with your competitors in that town and then returned to the Big city and went to (Rob's Gun's) and ordered and paid for a New Mossberg. Defender Pistol grip only/shotgun. As Store owners you have to Know that: "I'm not the only One!" Maybe you need to stress that: Every Customer is important**, we pay your paychecks! & Support your friend & family!! And Our Country! I hope this reaches the correct Person! I really hope things go better for you in the future! Gary Bonham/ Ste.Geneivie Mo. Like to leave security tags on your items and then want you to drive the hr and a half back to them. They do not want to give any money back for the money it takes you to drive back. They also want you to send pictures as they don't believe you. There are too many stores out there that sell the exact same product that is willing to help the customer. I will not be back.

What a place! They have everything for sports, biking, hiking, hunting. Really amazing! But not a lot of workboots - our reason for stopping.

Shoppers beware! According to the current store manager, they only take items in on return if they can be resold. Bought a fishing pole a week ago that had a defective reel. It lasted a whole 3 casts, but because it couldn't be resold we weren't able to return it. So I guess if you get an item here you better hope it works because you're stuck with it. This is the only Academy store we've ever had an issue with or been treated this way. The manager walked up with an attitude. Sales are probably down. I see why.

9 people waiting at the firearms counter only 2 employees and both helping the same customer to get a hunting license. If the people they hire are that incompetent they obviously don't need my money! I won't be coming back.

When I'm looking for something that has to do with sports or outdoors they usually have what I want. I was looking for a handcraft, solar wall or car charging emergency radio. They had it and it is a little bitty radio so you can carry it in your backpack or whatever. It is a digital radio display and turner with the clock showing all the time. AM/ FM and NOAA weather radio with flashlight and SOS signal.. It picks up stations amazingly well. Just what I was looking for.

Academy has been a good place to buy clothes/equipment for workout, but a simple act has me questioning this location's management. The Reese's Peanut Butter Cups pictured here were cut open (presumably while opening the case) and taped back closed. Anything I can imagine cutting through the plastic is likely covered in various contaminants. This should have been disposed of instead of placed back on the shelf. At the very least, it should have been marked down for a consumer willing to accept the state of the product.

i had a horrible experience here and the customer service is terrible. i usually love this store but an employee named Karen ruined it for me. she was rude and disrespectful and sadly i will never give my business to this place ever again. i could hear her screaming at another associate from 3 lanes over, and the female associate looked like she was young and she was full of tears. i asked the man cashing me out who she was, and he explained she was the general manager. i can and will not give my business to someone or a place that allows that type of behavior.

I do love this place 😍.....but see the thing is they r kinda expensive I just wish they would send out more coupons and have more sales as well. Actually I am getting ready to go there evening to see if I cam find some decent priced shoes well between them and shoe carnival we will see!!!!I would recommend you stopping by and always seeing this store it is a great one
