Review of Kelsay Kennel: Disappointing Experience with Lack of SupportMy experience with Kelsay Kennel has been deeply disappointing. I purchased a puppy from them recently, hoping to bring joy and companionship into my life. However, what I received was far from what I expected.Within a week of bringing the puppy home, it became evident that something was seriously wrong. The puppy was diagnosed with severe PTSD by veterinary professionals. This diagnosis has brought immense challenges into our lives. The puppy struggles to live a normal life, exhibiting behaviors such as panicking when an owner is not in sight, and even experiencing anxiety-related potty accidents in any new or confined space.Despite our distress and the gravity of the situation, our attempt to reach out to Kelsay Kennel for support and guidance were met with silence.Despite seeking professional help, the prognosis remains uncertain. It's heartbreaking to witness our puppy's distress and to realize that she may never fully recover from the trauma she experienced before we brought her home.I urge anyone considering purchasing a pet from Kelsay Kennel to exercise caution and thoroughly research their practices. While I understand that not every animal may be perfect, it's unacceptable to sell pets that have significant behavioral or health issues without disclosing them to potential buyers.In summary, my experience with Kelsay Kennel has been fraught with disappointment, regret, and a complete lack of support. I cannot in good conscience recommend them to others seeking a furry companion.

I have been meaning to post this sooner but have been occupied with my sweet, rambunctious puppy, who is now almost 6 months old! I had a really good experience with Kelsey Kennel—Judy was very responsive to emails, and the website made the purchase and shipping process easy. Also appreciate the FAQ section. We got this beautiful boy Bennie in July from this amazing breeder!!!! He has been such a perfect boy and we could not be any more happier!!! He is so spoiled, loved and shows it right back to our family, to strangers when we are running errands and at the dog parks. I have been so busy with him I have been meaning to leave a review about how amazing this wonderful is with our Bennie blessing. We will forever be grateful and when we are ready to open up our hearts for another pup we will only be getting another Bern from here.

Update: My Berner is nearly 1 year old now and I’m still so glad I decided to go through Kelsay Kennel. I’ve never been so satisfied with a breeder and highly recommend anyone considering getting a dog to get one from Kelsay Kennel——————————————————————————I have had my Berner, Sage, for 2 weeks now. I am extremely satisfied with Kelsay Kennel. They made the process easy and smooth and were always quick to reply.I am thrilled with how happy and healthy my girl is! Especially that she's already very well potty trained with the potty training setup Kelsay Kennel had. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a Bernese Mountain Dog.

Amazing dogs....beautiful, smart, and great temperaments! Judy was amazing, kept in close contact with me the entire time which put my concerns of purchasing out of state to rest. We have had our sweet girl for a week now. She is so smart, cuddly and healthy. The website was so easy to purchase a pup and the communication was great. We received updates pictures until we got our girl. She was shipped and as nervous as I was with the process it went very smooth. She has been great with all my kids and other animals. We’ve only had our little guy for three days and he is the sweetest most adorable puppy. It’s obvious that he has been socialized and cuddled prior to coming to our home. Judy was always available to answer our questions and to send us pics whenever we asked. This is the first time that we picked out our puppy from a website instead of in person and our little guy fits in perfectly with our family. I would highly recommend Kelsay Kennel. We have now adopted 2 Berners from Kelsayn Kennels The first one was 5 yrs ago and she is a wonderful dog. We were so happy with her we decided to go back to Kelsay for another Berner. Judy is wonderful. She continues to be interested in our child ( puppy) and if we have any questions is always there to help. Our next will definitely come from Kelsay.

Kelsay kennel did a wonderful job. Buying a puppy and the whole process of it was easier with them than buying Toliet paper from a grocery store. They were able to help my family and I get the puppy we wanted for our family, and we're so pleased with him. He's potty trained, and has a perfect personality! We did have to fly him over, but they even made that process efficient too. If I ever wanted to get another puppy, they'd be my top choice!

We received our Baby Bernese Puppy (now named Maverick) in May 2019. Judy made our experience prior to receiving him GREAT. She sent us photos, videos, and gave us insight on how to prepare. Prior to adopting our Newfoundland, Walter, my anxious teenage daughter had a lot of questions about the temperament of the dog. Judith and Jacob of Kelsey's Kennel were always available to answer them, graciously and at any time of day with a quick text or a full on conversation on the phone. I know my daughter really appreciated it and it made her feel a bit more confident in the purchase. We were very busy around the time of our adoption and they allowed us to come and pick up our pooch after hours on a Friday so the whole family could be involved. Walter was shy to us at first but he came out of his shell quickly, showing us his temperament as described by Judith. We have a quite large golden retriever, Sammy and even with Sammy's "I'm not the center of attention anymore" temper tantrum Walter does amazing with other dogs and is friends with all the other dogs on our street. Walter, being a puppy, wasn't trained so we were worried about his reaction to little kids, but probably due to Judith and Jacob little ones breaking him in, he's completely comfortable with children, and probably prefers them. it was good to know he was getting used to people at an early age. Judith gave us a little bit of free supplement and a bag of his puppy food to help Walter get used to his new food, our vet even commented how responsible that was of them. The adoption went smoothly and only took about 20 mins total. The dogs there have this huge farm to roam it was almost like a doggy paradise. Walter now constantly is falling asleep on top of us and wanting to be held, even though he's getting to be too big. The day we got him at 8 weeks he was 12.8 lbs and today at almost 4 months he is 42 lbs.

We have gotten two gorgeous Bernese Mountain dogs from this family. Not only are they beautiful, but they are very sweet natured and a core part of our family. These gentle giants could not be seeeter with our young daughter, they are extremely patient and affectionate. I am so glad that we found Kelsey kennel and will be using them again in the future for sure.We have traveled to them to pick up our first dog and the facilities were very nice for the dogs. Our second dog we had sent to our home (out of state), both interactions were easy and met all of our expectations.I love the fact that the owners of the kennel obviously care so much about their dogs-the love is evident in the nature and condition of the animals, and the fact that they continue to ask about how our sweet boys are doing (years later) is a true testament to their dedication and true nature of the passion they show in all they do while enriching other people’s lives by providing these amazing animals.The only problem I have encountered is the fact that I will absolutely never be able to be without a Berner ever again ;).We are very happy and would recommend them to everyone!

Such an great experience with getting a new puppy. We drove all the way from Florida and picked up our Dixie and ended up putting a deposit on another puppy to pick up next month. Worth the drive and got an amazing puppy out of it. She was great on way home too. Great communication with breeder and answered all my questions I had. Would recommend to anyone. Can't wait to pick up next puppy.

We are in love with our berner, Ollie. He’s 6 months, is super smart and goofy funny at the same time. He loves everyone and everyone loves him; even the mail carrier and fedex adore him. All around great experience from the first time I called and had questions about the breed, visited the kennel on short notice, picked out my pup, and finally brought him home. It is obvious he was home-raised, socialized, and loved even before he came home with us.

UPDATE- BRIBED $500 TO TAKE DOWN MY REVIEWWonder how many other people were paid off to cover up this disgusting business. Also my dog is part Bernese not full Newfoundland. So please think before purchasing from breeder!DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS BREEDER! I was given a certification that the genetics would be free from Hip Dysplasia and Elbow Dysplasia. My dog currently has both. My vet verified the amount of Hip Dysplasia he has resulted from unethical breeding. He is currently 5 years old and is in the shape of a 12 year old dog. Shame on you for causing such pain on innocent animals. Our heart is broken from the pain our dog is in. Add another breeder to the puppy mills in Missouri.

Bought a Bernese Mountain Dog from Kelsay Kennel. Shes a beautiful dog but we quickly found she had roundworms and have really struggled getting rid of them. We have virtually used almost every dewormer available, received the forth one from the vet today. In addition she suffers from severe diarrhea that has only been controlled with antibiotics. We have her on a high quality pro/pre biotic to try and get this under control. We love her very much but these issues have been a real pain, like getting up 5 times a night to let a dog go to the bathroom?

We received our New Foundland and thought everything was perfect until we were told he has Bil Hip Dysplasia at 3 months old. When breeder was told this and given X-rays to prove it, we were told.. " puppy's limp, give it time". He has already had one total hip replacement at 9 months old and due to have the other soon. I'm afraid for other Newfoundlands bred by Jacob Holt that they will suffer the same as our sweet boy.

My husband and I are so in love with our boy Jax. He's a St. Bernard - Bernese Mountain Dog mix from Kelsay Kennel who is just over 1 yr old, and weighs ~75 lbs.We constantly get stopped by people commenting on his beauty, but he's also incredibly smart and trainable with a good demeanor; a sweet explorer who craves human approval. He's very energetic (2x/day + 15 mile runs/wk), great with people, cats, and small-medium sized dogs.He does sometimes get in fights with dogs around his size; it's somewhere in between a ploy for dominance and protection, but the altercations are generally pretty mild. He is curious, cuddly, and is the absolute best dog we could have hoped for.10/10 would recommend puppies from Kelsay Kennel.
