Truly, genuinely... fantastic shelter!! I can't say enough good things about this place! We just adopted 2 (needy) dogs and these people were informed and kind and amazing! Amazing. And it seemed that every other human who came in after us, looking to adopt, was treated SO well. (BTW, the adoption fees seem to genuinely cover the vet fees. These buddies are healthy and ready for Forever Homes!

The ladies there are SO sweet! I hung out with this cutie pie (wes) and had a great experience all together. Definitely recommend going here if you want to adopt or just need puppy therapy! Also... They need donations! Please help if you can. They are doing everything they can to give these babies the best life, but rely solely on the kindness of people donating.

They are very loving people ... dedicated to the care of these precious furbabies..We have fostered and adopted here.. priceless sweet babies..who love being loved...we have a breeder pup too...the first one in 50 years. We adore all of them but our adopted girls just know that they were rescued and they are so thankful...PLEASE ADOPT and if you have others PLEASE spay and neuter...there are way too many sweet, scared animals that need homes...please prevent more puppies and kittens...❤️

Super nice workers. I found my cat that I've had for a couple years there, and I don't regret getting her or her kittens. They take care of the animals very well and the adoption fees are well priced. Also, if you're bored and want to see some adorable pets, this is the perfect place to go!

The Polk County Humane Society was amazing to work with! we ended up with a blue heeler from a litter and his name was Caddy. We have since changed his name to Smokey but we absolutely can't imagine our lives without this cutie! They were extremely friendly to work with and were very flexible when I needed to come early morning to pick up little man!

This is the best place to adopt they are taken well care of. I love how you make an appointment and it's just you and the dog not a million people all around. They have a great experience when adopting my next dog will definitely come from them and wonderful workers so kind. We adopted our dog on Easter the best experience for our 4 year old daughter . I highly recommend adopting through them. Thank you for all your help on Easter we now have our new family member our love bug.

This is such an amazing shelter! I have adopted all 4 of my current fur babies from here and I would adopt futures ones from here in a heartbeat. You can tell the staff cares so much about each animal that comes into the shelter. The staff works with each animal and makes sure that they feel loved. They make sure that each animal is matched with the best fit possible! I would highly recommend adopting your next family member from here!

A friend adopted a dog from here and I went with her to pick him up. The staff was great and went out of their way to help with the little guy's transition to his new home. I took a look around the animals seemed well taken care of. I will keep this place in mind when looking for my next pet

I found a dog for my family that we really wanted and we were very excited to meet. She was under foster care, her name was Shelia. I sent in my application to adopt her, the foster care lady called me and we set up a time to meet Shelia and to adopt her. Since our work schedules clashed during the week we set the appointment up on that following Saturday. We had spoke and made plans on a Sunday, a week before the meeting. Well during the middle of that week I get a phone call saying someone else was interested in Shelia and they made plans to meet her that Friday, the day before our meeting and that I could call Saturday morning to see if Shelia was still available. I could not and still can not believe that they did this to our family. My five year old daughter had her hopes set on this dog and we are crushed. Shelia ended up being adopted out that Friday, we never even got to meet the dog we wanted and made plans to meet first. I’m not sure how I feel about this establishment now. And I was going to drive and hour to meet/adopt her on top of the $250 adoption fee. I just can’t not understand why they would do that to us.

i adopted two of my cats from here. The staff was so great and helpful. They helped me choose the right cats (after learning more about what I was looking for) and followed up with me. And, if I had any questions, I knew I could reach out. Due to my experience, I started volunteering. I have been learning so much about the shelter and how much work, time and passion goes into helping these animals find a forever family and home. We are absolutely loving people who work there to help us to find the right companion for our dog, I especially me was super nervous about which dog would be right for us until the last dog for greet and meet was amazing!
