Visited Mount Pleasant prior to Miss August River Tour. The oldest winery in Augusta, Founded in 1859 🍇🍷Pros:➕ Friendly Staff➕ View from the patio➕ Wine selection➕ Entertainment/Live Band➕ Historic SiteConsiderations:➖Need better signage where people should meet for the Miss Augusta Shuttle➖ Staff at the front desk (there was a line of us wondering if that is where we meet) No one came. Minimally, add a pop up message.➖Expand the grab and go snacks when you get a glass a wine for the patio

We planned an event for my friend at Mt Pleasant this past weekend. It was almost everyone’s first time there and we had a blast. We were met with such kindness and hospitality from all of the staff. The patio was gorgeous and the view with the fall colors was stunning. Shout out to Karen for going above and beyond for us. And to Jack for making our wine tasting so fun & educational! The wine was also amazing!! I can’t wait to return to this beautiful winery!

Beautiful scenic views of the Missouri River Valley! Picture perfect setting for wedding ceremonies, receptions, rehearsal dinners, holiday parties and private events! I highly recommend this beautiful winery! Amazing wine, exceptional customer service, delicious menu selections, beautiful scenic views, meticulous event coordination and a staff that goes above and beyond for weddings and events! I highly recommend this venue for weddings, events, or a fun day out in the country!

Beer on tap for $5 is fair but $33 a bottle for most all wines is a little much. Added charge of $3 for a bucket of ice.The place itself has good bones, but is quite neglected. Weeds everywhere, dead leaves, tree branches, peeling paint, etc. For the prices being charged and the location, the disrepair was disappointing. Good, free live music helped, but the owners need do a better job of upkeep and atmosphere if they continue to charge those prices.Great location and view though. Just needs some maintenance and attention to aesthetics.

Jack is the best. Wine is very good. Vignoles and Villagio are good whites. Norton and Cab Sav are good as well. Mt Pleasant is known for their ports. Make sure to have a port shot.

I recently attended the Vine to Wine tour and cannot rave about it enough! The guide/wine master was informative and entertaining. I appreciated his knowledge and passion about making wine. The wines and food were amazing and the overall experience made the day so enjoyable. Thank you for another great event, Mount Pleasant!

Went for a friends birthday and can’t say enough great things about the service! We were disappointed to find our the cafe was under construction and there was no food. The manager did not hesitate she took orders for a sister winery and ran down there to get the food herself! We were all so appreciative and never expected her to do that. We will definitely be back and look forward to many more great trips.

+Pets allowed.+Space to social distance.+Clean bathrooms.+Sells beer for those in the group that don’t drink wine.+Large parking lot.-No tastings at this time. Buying wine blind can be a gamble. (Did not like the Vignoles wine).

We went there to enjoy a beautiful evening together. It was a very nice view out on the deck and much to our delight, they had a little band playing as we sipped our delicious wine and shared the street tacos 🌮 and burger 🍔. It was also nice to shop the little quaint town beforehand.

Mount Pleasant boosts a stunning backdrop alongside live music & ample seating.I felt their food selection was minimal and was not a fan of their packaged cheese selection. My biggest complaint is bottle pricing. I am not a cheap wine drinker, but their Chardonel was underwhelming especially close to fifty dollars. It tasted like water on the tongue, yet extremely dry going down. Just not the balance I appreciate. And unfortunately, I felt their Rose was too sappy. Like a fruit juice syrup almost. I wonder if my palate was off that day?Cute place regardless!

My husband and I use to come here about once a month with our dogs, when good weather. (We tried going last year in Spring; yes I'm still upset and so now just reviewing) However, when the Hoffmanns bought it they stopped allowing dogs. The wine was never the reason we went there, the acceptance of dogs was. Very disappointing this large corp. has made these changes to this community without thinking of the community.

I’ll never be back. The prices for wine are outrageous. Don’t charge California prices in a Midwest town. Completely unacceptable.

We recently had our wedding there. It couldn’t have gone better! Nancy Cozart, the event coordinator, was amazing! She was so helpful with planning our wedding and events leading up to the wedding. She was also very quick to respond to all of our questions and concerns. Planning a wedding is so stressful, but she made it easier. The wedding was so beautiful! Our guests are still talking about how great the views were and how much fun they had. We had an open bar and our guests never had to wait to get their drinks. We are very impressed with this venue and especially with Nancy for helping us put it all together! I would recommend this place for your wedding or event!

Mount pleasant was the most unpleasant experience. The wine was completely over priced for mediocre wine at best. The cheese selection was minimal and no plates/napkins offered. The seating was closed outside that would overlook the valley, There was a wedding, that we were not told about until after wine tasting and wine selection. So $100 later we were allowed to remain in the wine tasting room and eat their small selection of cheese and crackers. Would not recommend this place. This used to be a great venue for an afternoon. Don't waist your money!!!

Beautiful place but 4 tastings for $15!! The four tastings we had weren’t great and then they want a bottle for $40?! Are you kidding me?? Most of the people visiting are going to be middle class and don’t want to pay $40/bottle for wine that isn’t that great! I don’t recommend stopping at this winery!

I have been a wine club member for years and I have loved this place everytime we go. From the great people in the tasting room (Jack, Nick, Debbie, and everyone else), to the food and the great music, I can't say good enough about it. The owner Chuck is always friendly and willing to talk and Jack is one of the best wine tasting room people there is. The wine itself is phenomenal!! Especially the port!!! I just opened my bottle of vintage 85 and all I can say is that if there is rivers in heaven, they are filled with this I hope. Great job guys and look forward to many years of great visits.

We love the drive to Augusta, MO but they are doing alot of roadwork along the scenic route past Defiance. We also love what Mr. Hoffman is doing with the town and vineyards he purchased. Truly going to out Augusta on the map as the Napa Valley of the Midwest. The only drawback is that Mount Pleasant is going to get sooo busy they are going to need to enlarge their cafe and outdoor sitting area.Plus they need to redesign how Sugarfire BBQ operates their walkup counter. Definitely not enough room to receive orders and pickup orders. We placed ours and when my husband went to pick it up a few minutes later there were at least 10 people crowded around the window/counter. Very poor system and design.

Augusta itself is a nice town and lovely to visit. Lots of shops and Katy Trail, wineries, a brewery and many beautiful homes much of what were bed and breakfast. But at Mt. Pleasant the price of a small glass of wine is $15 and it isn’t any better than the store bought much cheaper wines. They did have a good band this Memorial Day weekend even though it was a bit cold. I still can’t get over the prices. I just got a bottle of water and that was $3.00. Next time I’ll bring a cooler and my own wine. Slip out and get a drink from the car once in awhile. Save me hundreds!

I've been to the winery to drink some wine, beautiful scenery and area.Nancy is a breath of fresh air, and a pleasure to work with. It is very clear that she has a passion for what she does.I've attended a wedding at the winery for my closest friend, and the entire process for her big day was stress free.Nancy assisted me with a last minute elopement, as a wedding professional I would recommend her to any bride. She takes care in what she does, and genuinely wants to make each event special. I look forward to recommending Mount Pleasant Estates for future brides, and hope to work with Nancy again.

Yes, prices here are very high. It is worth it for an occasional visit. The wine is very good as is the food. The view is amazing and the atmosphere is always relaxed and inviting. They have great bands, Ticket to the Beatles is the best. We always enjoy an afternoon spent at Mount Pleasant but the cost keeps us from going as often as we'd like to.

I bought 4 tickets on July 24th for the band Rockin Chair on Oct.2nd, your web site stated no reserved seating for this event. My husband and 2 friends got to the winery over an hour early to get a decent table but all the table were reserved except on the upper porch. It was the first time my friends were going to see the band and they were excited because I talked about them so much, what a disappointment. Plus the concert started at 2:30 because of the weather and then the band was told they had to quit at 4:30.They were suppose to play from 2-5. It was a very disappointing day. The only positive thing about the day was that the weather cleared up.

Buyer Beware! i visited the winery on 1/24/22 with an out-of-town friend. This is one of very many visits over 23 years. After lunch in the cafe, I decided to purchase a bottle of the wine i had for lunch. I noticed there were no prices displayed in the wine-tasting room, but figured it couldn't be that bad. The gentleman at the register rang up the bottle and informed me it was $44 and $47.28 with tax, plus tip. I was stunned, but since the bottle had been rung up, i decided to go ahead with the purchase. When I arrived home, I emailed "customer service" to inquire whether this was the correct price or whether a mistake might have been made. It was a genuine question. Two weeks later, I have received no response. I have seen the wine--Vignoles--listed for $9.99 on-line and for $10.99 in local retail shops. Price-gauging and bad/no customer service! A bad combination. There are too many wineries in the area to put up with this.

A couple of friends and I went on a Sunday afternoon and it was quite busy. We found parking in their lot across the street easily enough though and from the get-go we could tell it was going to be a bit of a wait to get a tasting at the bar, as there were two tenders and people were almost shoulder to shoulder. That being said, we were in no rush and enjoyed the atmosphere, and I could tell our tender divided his time efficiently. He was very kind and even patient when we had questions about certain wines. If you are in a rush or impatient and you see any winery, or bar or restaurant for that matter, busy and still choose to drink or dine there but complain, then that's on you. It would be another thing if the staff did not do their best to accommodate everyone but that was not the case here. As other reviews mention, beautiful Augusta scenery and a nice atmosphere. I would come back again!
