My girlfriend and I stayed at the HS Clay House in March of this year. We were lucky enough to get the Chardonnay Suite and it lived up to every expectation we had of the room. She loved the little reading nook and the chairs were actually quite comfy. Kelly was wonderful and made sure we had everything we could possibly have needed. And she was able to connect us with the former chef of the Silly Goose Restaurant. We hired the chef to come in and cook for us one night as a private dinning experience at the B&B. It was a very romantic experience to say the least. Both breakfasts we had during our stay were prepared with farm fresh ingredients and Kelly made sure everyone's preferences were accommodated. Absolutely delicious. This will be one of our go to spots in the future. We highly recommend the HS Clay House for anyone coming to the Augusta area. Thank you Kelly for everything.

Kelly is a wonderful host and the house is beautiful! The room was spacious, quiet, and well lit with a very comfortable bed. Everything was spotlessly clean, breakfast was delicious and filling, and Kelly made breakfast early so we could get on the trail ahead of forecasted thunderstorms. If I could give 6 stars I would. This stay was a great value and a real treat. It's very convenient to the Katy Trail and had every amenity you could need.

This is our second time staying at H.S. Clay House! We have enjoyed it so much both times! The accommodations are lovely with comfortable beds! Breakfast is always delish and plentiful! Kelly is the sweetest! This particular stay was such a treat as we won it from Kelly on her online Holiday Giveaway! We were so excited to return to this beautiful bed and breakfast! It was such a nice giveaway!!

This lovely b&b was our Halloween overnight as we rode the Katy Trail to St. Charles. Host Kelly made delicious chicken chili which she shared with us and many neighbors at the nearby community center’s potluck. She had oodles of candy for the local trick or treaters, and made us a yummy breakfast. The house is exquisitely appointed and our room very comfortable. Cozy gas fireplaces took the chill off. Highly recommend.

We had a wonderful stay at this B&B. Kelly is a lovely and gracious host. The beds were very comfortable and rooms were clean. There is plenty to do with a hot tub, pool, fire pit, corn hole boards and shuffle board table on site. The town of Augusta is small which makes it walking distance to restaurants, stores, Augusta Winery, Good News Brewing Company and Halcyon Spa. Kelly also keeps a mini fridge stocked with a variety of drinks for her guests along with different snacks. Breakfast was delicious and she takes recommendations on what to serve. If I'm ever back in Augusta I would definitely stay here again.

The first time I came to Clay House it was for my sister's bridal shower in 2014. I was looking forward to all the quirky items that I remembered the last time I was here but upon my arrival I found out it was a new owner. The house was not a museum anymore but it was a clean, spacious, welcoming, great decor, Kelly was a breath of fresh air welcoming me and my husband in. She took us on a tour of the house and let us know what was going on in town.We stayed at the Clay house for two days and every morning Kelly came and made breakfast for us the food was delicious. Kelly even gave me the recipe for the pancakes we had which was also great. The house, hot tub and pool was so awesome we will be coming back with friends real soon. House!

Clean, spacious, welcoming, great decor, delicious breakfast! We stayed here for our 11-year anniversary as we were married at Mount Pleasant Winery. Kelly is fantastic. So thankful for her communication, her ability to check us in a little bit early, and conversation. I was up early on Sunday before everyone else, and I had some time to chat with her. She is delightful. We will definitely come back! We felt like we were right at home.

The moment we walked in the back door, homey fragrant and a beautiful kitchen greeted us. Kelly is an absolute ambassador for hospitality. Dining room is elegant and comfortable. Front rooms spacious and beautifully decorated. Multiple bathrooms that were spotlessly clean. Beds were comfy and the location was so quiet. Breakfast was phenomenal - some many flavors to amaze the senses. Absolutely adored her fine china. Wines and snacks available for an evening of relaxation after biking on the trail - all complimentary too! Great experience.

Kelly is an excellent hostess! My girlfriend and I loved our stay and enjoyed being able to walk to wineries and a brewery for dinner. Kelly provided everything we needed to make our stay great, including a pool, hot tub, a welcome glass of wine, wonderful conversation, coffee and a hairdryer to name a few. Kelly is a phenomenal chef and breakfast each day was amazing! She even catered to my vegetarian preferences which wasn’t necessary but much appreciated!! I highly recommend this B&B, it was clean, cute, cozy and convenient.

The H.S. Clay House was a perfect Bed & Breakfast for a 2020 honeymoon. Kelly has done an amazing job creating a warm, welcoming, and relaxing environment - the house is gorgeous, beautifully adorned with comfortable couches and chairs, and a lot of effort has been put into each and every room to make it feel unique and special. If the accommodations weren’t enough, Kelly makes an amazing breakfast that is definitely worth getting up for. These alone warrant a 5-star review; however, Kelly went above and beyond to make our stay special. When we booked our room, we mentioned that we were visiting Missouri wine country, and when we arrived, she scheduled a special tasting for us with one of the vineyards in the area. That experience was the highlight of the trip, and it made my wife and I feel very special. I cannot praise Kelly enough.

My bride and I had the pleasure of staying this past Sunday through Thursday. Absolutely everything was perfect. Host Kelly is incredibly accommodating, flexible and kind. She is an exceptional cook. Her meals were better than any other we had during our stay, including two trips to Washington. The house is immaculate and welcoming. We are planning on visiting again with friends this fall and won't stay anywhere else.Kelly, please tell Rick we had no tohubohu.

I cant say enough good things about Kelly and HS Clay house. Great atmosphere, really great breakfast. Loads of snacks and a refrigerator of drinks. And always greeted by a warm smile from Kelly. Hot tub was soothing on the Katy Trail bicycle aches, too.

If I could give more stars I would! We had a wonderful stay and I highly recommend. Kelly was a wonderful hostess that went above and beyond to accommodate our group of 6. I stayed in the Chardonnay room after riding in on the Katy trail. Kelly was the most wonderful hostess, incredibly kind and welcoming. She even stored my bike in her garage. The home is spectacular and so peaceful. I wish I could have stayed more than one night here, so I've already booked next month to bring some of my family back with me. Kelly's breakfast crepes were TO DIE FOR!

What a treat to stay in the H. S. Clay House for the final night of our bike trip on the Katy Trail! My husband and I have not stayed in a real B&B in a very long time. We loved it! Kelly has done a great job creating a wonder B&B experience from the décor, to the outside spaces to sit and enjoy the gardens or firepit, to the wonderful breakfast. Kelly even arranged for a fantastic dinner catered by Chef Joann. I highly recommend!

My husband and I stayed here one night while biking the Katy trail. It was so beautiful, exquisitely maintained, and sparkling clean. We were upgraded to the Chardonnay room, which was gorgeous, with a generous and comfortable bed, high, vaulted ceilings, and a sitting area. The free wine and snacks were the icing on the cake. Highly recommend!

Stayed here last night after biking the Katy Trail. We stayed in the attic (I’ve forgotten the name of the room) but it was cute and cozy. The rest of the house was beautiful and the grounds lovely. I spent the afternoon and early evening on the back porch. Breakfast was delicious and the host was interesting to visit with. Recommend The Clay House to anyone who will be in the area.

Kelly is such an amazing innkeeper! Her enthusiasm and sincere hospitality cannot be overstated. Local wines and snacks upon arrival and bedside cookies after returning home from your evening out. How do you top that ? This B and B is a beautiful circa 1800s structure situated in the quaint village of Augusta. Americana at its best! Don’t pass up this gem.
