Step back in time with this amazing hardware store. Obviously Elvis got his first guitar from here, and they are great about answering questions. Very helpful crew and very friendly.

Mr. Floyd was awesome! He told us some stories about Elvis and the store, so glad this place is still in business, and happy that fans from all over the world come to visit. Elvis fans ROCK! We just bought our daughter's first guitar here, just like Elvis! (Definitely more than $7 though, haha!) She asked for one a year ago and I asked her to wait, knowing exactly where to buy one for her too, heehee, totally worth it and the wait too. Thank you, Tupelo Hardware Store!

Cool original hardware store still owned by the original family. Many of the original store fixtures and original tin ceiling are still here. This hardware store is where Elvis Presley and his mother purchased his first guitar on January 8th, 1946 when he was 11. They have a very informative employee who is very knowledgeable on the history of the store and its connection to Elvis Presley. Still a functioning hardware store and well worth a visit.

What an amazing hardware store and the history was so wonderful to see and hear about and we stood on the spot where Elvis got his first guitar. So fun to stop and browse and see it all!

We had an amazing visit. Mr. Floyd was so welcoming and informative. He spend several minutes telling us Elvis stories and showing us where Elvis stood when his mother bought him his first guitar. We took advantage of the opportunity to purchase my son his first guitar too.

We wish we could've stayed longer to listen to all of the Elvis stories but we had a schedule to keep yesterday. We thoroughly enjoyed listening to the ones we did get to hear and the gentleman we spoke to was very friendly. We plan on returning in June and bringing my Mama back, she is gonna love it here! Thank you for being so nice to us!!

Neat stop for Elvis fans. The staff are happy to stop and tell the story surrounding Elvis and his first guitar. And, they even have a surprising variety of guitars for sale!

Just look DON’T BUY. I bought a high end soldering iron there and found that it has a short in the trigger. Took it back, not expecting any problems and the guy that sold it to me made some excuse, that it was “supposed to do that”, even though I explained to him that I have a similar model at home, that has no short and doesn’t intermittently cut off. He just put it back in the box and said “well alright”.

I can’t speak for the store itself. I stopped in for the NPS Passport stamp. I asked a guy working there about it and he took me over to where it was and got it out for me. The stamp badly needs to be replaced. Couldn’t read it at all. It’s just a big ink smudge.

Another Bucket List item accomplished! Friendly staff and they were very happy to talk to us about Elvis, with absolutely all the time in the world for us, with no pressure to make a purchase. Well worth a visit if you are in Tupelo.

Went on Elvis Presley tour and that is the hardware store where Elvis got his guitar 🎸. The gentleman who was talking to me said it's been open 98 years.

A real piece of the history of Tupelo. I shopped there with my Dad when I was a young boy. I have heard they’re thinking of closing this location. I surely hope not. Too Historical to lose!!!

As soon as you walk in you can tell that this is not part of a chain of stores that just wants to get you in and out as fast as possible. And I mean that in a really good way. It's more like taking a step back, to when I was a kid going to the hardware store with my Dad. I love the old feel about this store. From the wood floor on up. They have a good selection, and everyone is friendly and eager to help. I will definitely shop here again.

Great store, but the best part is the people. He overheard me say my son loves Elvis and took 15 minutes telling my son stories and showing him stuff. Best part of the afternoon for my Elvis lover, not to mention the store is organized and clean and well-stocked. Thank you!

Old time hardware store that is a time machine trip to yesteryear. This is where Elvis's mither bought his first guitar. There is some information about it, but not much. Not really any souvenirs to speak of. Mostly a interesting place and somewhere Elvis went as a kid that hasn't changed much, unusual in and of itself.

This place is almost viewed as a local attraction but aside from the story about Elvis and his first guitar this place deserves a top rating for many reasons. The staff still gives top notch service to every customer and if you can’t find a nut or bolt or a door hinge from the 70s they probably have it somewhere in the back. So much more than Elvis’s guitar.
