20240327 I love it when rest stops have a State welcome sign for photo ops. Had a nice conversation with the ladies working there. I told them my story on how I met Miss Mississippi 2007, Kimberly Morgan, a year ago, and had dinner with her and her family last night. My friendship with Kimberly gave me a new Mississippi experience, when though I'm just driving through.

I found the Mississippi Welcome Center on I-59/I-20 at Lauderdale to be as beautiful as the State. The building itself is large and styled with large columns. The grounds are very nice and well kept. Within the welcome center are several nice displays from the State. The restrooms are clean and security is provided on site. A very nice rest area.

Horrible place! Stopped here to dump and get water. Nope. Sign says "permanently closed".There are these strange cones, barriers if you want to call them that, all around the the truck parking area. This makes it difficult to maneuver large RVs and big bunk trucks. Less parking is what it equals. Very unfriendly to professional drivers.There is a desperate need in every state for more overnight parking for trucks. Trucks bring everything. Next time your "item" is late or not on the shelf at your store, it might be due to trucks not finding parking and this inturn causes the truck to be late. Especially if there is no local truck stop.

Mississippi has some of the best rest areas I've been in for most states. I travel extensively and these are consistently clean and well-maintained. Security is evident. Take a 30 minute break, walk, stretch, and enjoy. The surrounding gardens are lovely!

Would have given 5 stars but I prefer hand towels in the restroom instead of the blower. The blower seemed to be made for incredibly short people as well. I had to bend down to stick my hands under it. Maybe it's because they assume women take children to the bathroom because my boyfriend didn't have the issue with having to bend down to dry his hands. We're both 5'8. I saw some cute dogs but didn't get to pet them.

A very nice place to park and relax. They have a security guard here, which is reassuring. Too bad they blocked off some much needed truck and RV parking. Not sure why they block these spaces off or I would have given 5 stars for not wasting the much needed space.

This is by far the cleanest and best kept rest area I've ever been in in my travels. Very impressive with the care this place is given. Lots of parking, seating areas. Bathrooms are spotless

Nice welcome center. Clean inside and out. Bathrooms were clean as well. Cute painted carousel pony.My kids discovered some family history I had not spoken to them about in the literature and pamphlets in the lobby.

WOW!!! This rest stop is the nicest I’ve ever been into. Being an OTR truck driver I’ve gone into a LOT of rest areas … and just wow! Security, information, lots of grassy areas, loads of truck parking, and a great pick you up when you’ve been on the road a long time. If you want to use the bathroom & feel safe this is the place to go. I didn’t want to leave!!!

This facility was manned by a very polite woman. There was a warm greeting and clean restrooms to help us along our way along interstate 20. There were historical items to view as well as a very beautiful park. Easy to get off and back on the road and appear to be very safe.

Very clean bathrooms with plenty of room for parking. There's also a number of large picnic areas. All of them well maintained. This more like a park than a rest area.

This is a very nice welcome center with clean grounds and nice, southern style decor on the inside. The information center is very clean and well decorated with very friendly staff who are willing to answer any questions you might have. This was a great introduction to Mississippi for our first time there.

Beautiful presentation of Mississippi, they were closed but still were able to use the clean cool restrooms and walk around a bit to stretch. Lots of parking spots and areas to have a picnic.

This is one of the older welcome centers in mississippi and is a beautifully appointed example of the classic greek revival architecture that made the buildings of the south so iconic. The lady who was in attendance was welcoming, kind, and informative. The vending Choices are good, The prices are good, And the selection of locool, attractions and points of interest in the brochure station were very pleasing to me. I'm a history buff and a bit of an outdoor buff when it comes to kayaking and biking. And so I picked up information on local navigable, rivers and some local trails. All in all, it was a very pleasant experience. And I am still absolutely amazed at how beautiful and how well maintained this facility is. I would certainly say that this is a great introduction point for the state of Mississippi.

The women who work here are the sweetest. I mean that's to be expected because it is the South. The facility, however, needs some work as it is very dated. The bathrooms need an upgrade.

Very nice stop for restrooms and vending. Dog walk was just ok but close to parking. Front desk closed on Sunday and Monday but you still have access to restrooms

Beautiful Rest Stop! The interior is historic and well-maintained. Bathrooms were dated but clean. Outdoor areas were very nice, pet areas and picnic tables were clean and spacious.

This is a nice and clean place. They have so much information available at this location. They even have coffee for everyone that comes through available for free. They ask that you signed their guest book to show how many people come through to keep the establishment open. So please sign the guestbook if you want this location to stay open. There is a lot in here to look at it as well.

Just after 5 pm closing for the Welcome Center. 1 stall has no toilet paper, the other just has a little in the men's room. Terrible. Idk if they have night cleaning.

Very clean facilities. Staff was personable and cordial. Plenty of parking and the grounds were well maintained. The security staff was vigilant. Good place to stop with the family and get vending snacks.

My husband and I was traveling from Atlanta GA to Texas and we stopped at the Mississippi Welcome Center. The grounds were very nice and kept very clean. No trash anywhere.I went inside to use the facilities and as I came inside the staff asked Where we were heading and how many are in our party? I thought that was really cute 😍The restrooms were closed on one side to be cleaned. But the other side was opened for our convenience. The restroom was cleaned and well stocked.I had no problem getting into an empty stall. There were also refreshments available to purchase if anyone in upur group is looking to fulfill their sweet tooth, or just wanting something to snack on or needing a nice cold drink. We also took a few moments to take a picture outside at the Welcome sign.I would recommend stopping in and using the facilities, or to just take a quick break from driving.

Tons of free space to roam around. The land is very well kept. Restroom is in back of the building. The inside was shut down because of the virus. Guard and staff still on duty. Vending items could be better.
