Our favorite place ❤️ Haven't tried everything on the menu but everything I've ever ordered has been delicious. Always fresh food and home cooked. And the rolls are the best I've ever ever had in my life. The catfish both filet and whole are delicious can't beat it. The chicken and dumplings are so yummy. The pineapple upside down cake is also warm and delicious and the bread pudding is delicious. My husband always gets the Lotta burger with extra chadder cheese he saids it's the best burger around. My go to has always been the fried catfish, hamburger steak, or the Country fried steak with white gravy. Everything they have is delicious been going here for atleast 17 to 18 years now. And the owners are the best like family. Just love them. ❤️ Oh and the fresh garden salad is always crisp and delicious too. Always Fresh veggies. They are always pretty packed so please be patient if you have to wait a little I promise you it's so worth the wait.

I believe this is the best restaurant in the pine belt. The quality is unmatched. Every thing on the menu is good. The chicken and dumplings are amazing. The salads are great and they have homemade dressing. The burgers are unmatched. The chicken and more dish is fantastic. Wonderful desserts. The atmosphere is calming and lovely. The staff and owner work so hard to make this food so consistent. Gotta try it!

We've been wanting to try this restaurant for some time, but we're rarely in this area. However, tonight it seems the stars finally aligned, as we were passing through, were hungry, they were open, not too busy...it was all very serendipitous. Since it was about an hour before closing time, we looked at the menu online, stopped in, and just grabbed something to go. We both ordered a cup of vegetable beef soup and an appetizer of fried green tomatoes. The FGT were made to order, so they were hot and fresh with a nice light, crisp breading. We asked that the Crawfish Julie sauce be placed on the side, and they were quite generous with that element. The soup was a tomato-base...decent, but, honestly....rather unremarkable, but certainly nothing to complain about. The downside being that we both agreed the food was more than a bit bland. But, to be fair, this could be a conscious dietary/health decision to appeal to more patrons, since both are easily spiced to one's taste. Bottom line: for almost $30, it was not spectacular, but we do consider it worth returning one day to explore other menu options. And......earning some extra shine on those stars 🌟- I had just cut my leg, and the staff was kind enough to provide me with a band-aid upon request. I appreciated that, so I'd like to say thanks so much to Lau Tori's ownership and staff!!!

They have a great shrimp Po Boy and a side salad. Unfortunately, the restaurant is a little dated and needs significant restoration. It does have a rich history being located in Sumrall, Mississippi and conveniently located right off the Long Leaf Trace. I would have rated them higher but would love to see them invest in the property for a fantastic dining experience.

Food was very middle of the road for the price. Portion adequate but seemingly overpriced. And the salad that came with the meal had imitation bacon bits. Maybe their other menu items are good, I just happened to select the wrong one? Maybe will try them again my next stop in Sumrall.

We really love to eat there but, the last few times we've been service has been slow and there were only 3 tables with guest. There are people in and out of the kitchen area that are not working at that time. The last time we were there, some young boy sat on the counter where tea and all us located. That isn't sanitary at all. Then the servers were back talking and we had to wait until we could get someone's attention to get our bill. I know and dearly love the owners but I had to write this.

We have ate here off and on for many years. We live our of town so don't get to eat here very often anymore. We ate there last night. Was not as good as normal. Salads have always been wonderful, but last night it was okay. My whole catfish was done but tasted watery like cooked from frozen but not long enough? We will try again, because love the small town restaurant. Just young cook and staff.

Excellent food and true southern hospitality! Had the hamburger steak special which comes with three sides and a salad for under $9. The antiques decor is simply charming and the service couldn't be better.

So disappointed in Lau Tories tonight. First they forgot about us and didn't bring the salad before the soup. Server said she didn't have time. But the table of 3 that walked in ten minutes AFTER we sat down and ordered got all of their salads when we did not. When we did get our food, my husband's soup was not hot. Closer to cold. The kids grilled cheese sandwiches did not even have melted cheese!. My onion rings tasted like they had been cooked in old grease. We have been going to Lau Tories for years. Never had an experience like this till now. Don't know if they are understaffed or what but $34.00 for the food and service we recieved seems unexplainable.

My dad recently called in a to go order for a hamburger and fries, and immediately noticed the fries were cold, took them back in and was not offered fresh hot fries, then got home with his burger, and opened it up and was disgusted at the amount of grease that soaked the bun and gristle from the grill that was piled on the meat and also had grilled onions that he didn’t even order. He took one bite and found that it was unedible and also smelled horrible, like old garbage, and immediately drove back up there and brought it to the attention of the manager on duty and instead of apologizing and correcting his order, she looked at the greasy burger and said it looked fine to her. She didn’t offer his money back or to make him a fresh burger and hot fries. She was very unprofessional and rude, so much so that my dad was astounded and told her he would never spend money there again.

Pretty good food but DISGUSTING environment. Grease and grime mixed with 50 years worth or dust covers the walls and ceilings. Waitresses touch salad and veggies with bare hands that haven't been washed. My family will not be eating here until this place gets a good scrub down and makes the employees practice sanitary ways to handle food!!!

Catfish Julie with Cajun fries was amazing! Great service. Best part of my day yesterday!Update: Had such a good experience two days ago that we celebrated a special day for our family with takeout from Lau-tori's this evening: chicken Lau-tori's, sweet potato, fried green tomatoes with Julie, stuffed jalapeno peppers, and peach cobbler! Best meal I've had in ages. We've lived in Hattiesburg 4 years, and I'm so glad to have finally "discovered" this place!

Decent local place. Convenient stop on the Rails to Trails bike trail. I recommend the fried green tomatoes, chicken tips, and burgers. Fast seating for sometimes long wait to get food out.

Burger was over cooked and dry. Fries were under cooked. There was dust all over the place. Wait staff was amazing. But food tasted like it was bought at Sam's in the frozen food section.

This used to be our favorite place to eat. In fact, we drove 25 mins out of the way to eat here. The past year we stopped coming as much because the service was getting poor and more often than not our order was wrong. However, we believe in small business so tonight we gave it a shot again. As usual we drove 25 mins out of our way, passing numerous places we could have stopped and had dinner at. We called in our meal and planned to eat at the park in town since it was such a nice evening. Our order was called in at 6:42pm. It was a hamburger and a turkey po boy. We arrived took our meal and headed to the park. When I opened my sandwich it looked terrible the meat was shredded like what you would put on a potato. It was cold, and had half a slice of two different cheeses. My order was a hot po boy with melted cheese, (yes I request melted cheese bc I have had my sandwiches be cold here before) I also requested extra cheese. So no biggy mistakes happen we call at 7:17pm and say we are headed back could they please begin a new sandwich we would be there quickly to pick it up. We arrive at 7:20pm. After waiting 30 mins and the sandwich being made incorrectly a 2nd time my husband requested to speak to the owner. After she finished making all the orders she came out and said, "What's the problem". My husband explained what happened. He was told the staff is new. No apologies no anything. We were given a refund but the owner refused to give us the 3rd sandwich that was finally completed and put in a microwave to heat up. We were told to get off our high horse and that this is not Hattiesburg. This was 7:45-7:50 after waiting almost 1 hour for a SANDWICH to be remade. We will not return to this establishment. Yes we will continue to eat in Hattiesburg where we are respected and at least apologized to when things are not handled correctly. It's a shame to be treated so poorly by someone we really tried to support.

dirty, employees use restaurant for child care. lot of cleaning needs to be done while workers play with phones sitting on their butts. Food is OK but too salty. you can always add salt but I can't take it away. Could be 5 star with some actual work. Clean up and dust. Health department violations.

I have eaten at Lau Toris from the day it opened. The food is really good and you can't beat the hamburger steak. Well truth be told everything they have is top notch. I've read the negative reviews. I have just 1 question. Did you talk to your server about what made you unhappy? If you didn't then it's on you. They're always willing to step up and help make it better. I will continue to eat at Lau Toris until they throw dirt on my face.
