The facilities are wonderful and Elizabeth went over and beyond to help me with my precious puppy. I lost my other Shih Tzu, Jax, who was an amazing Pet Therapy dog at 6 years old to kidney failure. I was heartbroken and didn’t think I would start over but I missed my ministry so much that I decided to try again. When I found Elizabeth I spent a lot of time talking with her about what I was looking for. She gladly let me come visit her facilities to see her own Shih Tzu’s so I see how they reacted to strangers, being held by a stranger and their temperament. I was very impressed and decided to get a puppy. This lead to us getting precious Daisy who has been amazing. Daisy was the smallest puppy of the litter. The day we were to pick her up she got sick. Because of what I had just gone through Elizabeth wanted to keep her to make sure she was going to be okay. She had the vet do different tests to make sure she was fine and they really couldn’t find anything wrong. They just thought because she was so tiny maybe she got like a stomach bug or something and was having a hard time getting well. Elizabeth bottle fed her night and day to get her well and we finally got to being her home. She just turned a year old and is amazing. I have trained two other Shih Tzu’s to do Pet Therapy and Daisy is the first one to pass a one year old. She is so smart and has the most loving spirit. We started going to nursing homes to visit as soon as she finished her shots and it was like she knew exactly what her job was to do. She loves to go visit everywhere we go. She is now going to the hospital, libraries as well as the nursing homes. She is such a blessing to our family as well as the people we visit. I will always be grateful to Elizabeth for this special puppy that she never gave up on. I would recommend her to anyone.

I can’t say enough positive things about Elizabeth, the owner of Southern Sassy Shih Tzu! Five years ago, I got the best puppy from Elizabeth. Our puppy was smart, confident, full of character and easy to housetrain. As an adult, she is the sweetest. Fast forward to February 2023, I brought another Southern Sassy Shih Tzu home! At 6 months old she rings a bell to go outside, knows how to play fetch, and like our first puppy, she is full of character.Maybe it’s something Elizabeth feeds them? Maybe the air in MS? I can speculate, but I KNOW it’s the way Elizabeth treats each puppy. She truly cares for her puppies, where they go to spend a meaningful and quality life, has a love for the breed, puts in the hard work and dedication being a breeder.Both of my puppies traveled from MS to CO. I can easily find a breeder in Colorado, but I know what to expect from Elizabeth. If you are considering a puppy from Southern Sassy Shih Tzu, you have found the BEST!

Elizabeth was such a professional and has a total heart for what she does. Our family has had shih-tzu's for years and we knew right away after speaking with her before ultimately deciding to add another to our family, that there was no one better to go through. She knows this breed inside and out and you can tell she absolutely has a passion for the breed and treats them so well. The process of getting our new girl could not have been more seamless, from the first call to the moment we met her. We even got the sweetest little care package she sent home with her. Cannot thank her enough! If in the future we decide to add another, we will be going through her again! After researching a few other breeders within a few hours radius, the decision was not even close- Lots of horror stories about unhealthy doggies for 3x the price! Look no further than here for your new shih-tzu baby!

After talking to Elizabeth on the phone a couple of times, my husband and I drove two hours to see her and her puppies in person. Wow, what a lovely, clean and safe home the puppies live in. They happily thrive in the sweet environment that she provides for them. They get a lot of love, playtime in and out of their “Clubhouse”, personal care, feedings, baths, etc. When our puppy was at the stage that he could come home with us, Elizabeth volunteered to drive him and met us halfway. We stay in contact now, for Elizabeth has become a dear friend, and I send her updates on our little guy.
