Convenient to where i live. Prices are reasonable and locally owned. The cashiers and meat department are Great 👍was there tonight there were a lot of folks there. They stay busy.

It has some good and bad points. Fairly large store, meat prices are usually good. Produce you really need to watch some are so close to spoiling but you may nay not realize it till two days after you get it home.

This place is big. Like a warehouse big. Very spacious. Well layout makes shopping less stressed. Staff are great. Remember, unlike Walmart, there is 10% taken off all items at checkout. With it's good selection, this little secret in New Albany is definitely a place to shop groceries.

Best produce in town great prices and great people. There is a 10% markup at the register but still cheaper than Wall mart , Kroger. Or. Publics. If more people would give Stokes a chance they sure wouldn't regret it . I've been trading there for 35 years.

The meat selection and pricing are good but do make sure that the meat you choose hasn't started turning yet. The isles are wide and and there selection is good. You can get some things here that you can't get at the other grocery stores. I have rated it 3 stars due to the produce section and some of the perishable items that they carry being spoiled. This last time, I was looking for a bag of salad and all of them had already spoiled and were rotten. Before I have been looking for fresh veggies and fruit but they were moldy or too soft. The milk I have bought has been spoiled a couple of times over a couple of years and most recently, the soda that I got from one of the coolers at the checkout tasted funny so I looked at the expiration date on it and it had expired a week before.

The name of this place has actually been changed to Union Grocery (it was sold to a new owner). The old sign that says Stokes is still up though. At least for now. Anyway, I love going here. It's been my family grocery store for my entire life (I'm in my late 20's now) and have very fond early childhood memories of going here. I'll admit the taxes are bit high but it's worth it for the sheer variety of food. You can also get lots of other things here besides food. There's plenty of animal food, bathroom products, baby products, cleaning products, household products and such. Stuff like napkins, paper plates, tape, pens, writing paper, shaving cream, toothpaste and pain medicine plus lots more of the sort can be bought here as well. A all around great store.

I thought I was getting great deals until I looked at my receipt. They charge 17% tax!!! I called and was told it was just store policy but it gets better. They charge the 10% and add that BEFORE they charge you the 7% state tax. My subtotal was 284.46 the 10% was 28.45 and the 7% was 21.90. Im sick to my stomach thinking I paid that much in taxes. Ill never be back again.

I know people from other counties go here fro their meat and spices. Best thing is that you get great quality meat (if you come at the right time before others beat you to it) at some of the best prices I've ever seen. Another perk is that you can buy you meat and seasonings and beer all at the same place! It's definitely a place to go out of your way for.

There's a wide selection, in a large store but older building. I was able to get fresh ginger root, which was nice. Shopping here is a good option to have. The aisles are wide, and items on shelves were neatly stacked.

This store has the best meat for miles around.Everything is so fresh and the only place we buy our meat. It is definitely worth the additional 10%. Honestly, one may never know what deals they will find at Stokes.

The store has improved considerably through the years. It is pretty much clean and the meat is fresher these days. I did not give it 5 stars because their prices on most things are a lot higher than any where else.

They have shelves always stocked..great selection on groceries. Good prices on their meats. Plenty of room in isles and friendly workers. I usually go in for a few things and always come out with a buggy full. But pleased with my choices.

Always a good place to get things when you're in a hurry. Best meat prices around. However, on this visit the pork was a shade of grey! Yuck!! Every pack of minute steaks was black! Yes, I said black! Beyond gross!! Then the cashier was slow, and I do not think she was in training since she was the only one at the main registers! As we grabbed our bags she told the lady behind us in line that she didn't want to be there. That I had already figured out! She was not a people person! Not sure that customer service/retail is her forte!

They have a lot of good prices on their meats. Cheaper than the majority of other places. We was able to buy 15 lbs of bacon for $30 10 lbs of sausage for $14

I'd give five stars, but there is an issue. While their shelves are always beautifully stocked with a wide selection of items, sometimes they market moldy and out of date items. I've bought multiple frozen and fresh items that have had mold in them, including pie, cauliflower and strawberries. From the outside you couldn't see it. But over all they are very nice. They have medicines, shampoo, groceries, and great prices.

My personal favorite grocery store.Old tyme feel. And they have some things that you can't find in other stores, such as bulk Plantation sausage seasoning and bulk bbq seasoning.Always helpful and friendly staff.🙂

Definitely my favorite super market in town. I love how close it is to my house and they have a pretty good selection of dry goods. Their meat selection though is what keeps me coming back. They have the best rib-eyes in town !

This is my grab and go spot when I'm in town. If I forget my eggs, go to Stokes; ran short on milk, go to Stokes; Spaghetti Sauce has turned bad, for to Stokes...Like I said, it's my "Go-to to Get Thru" One Stop Spot😌. If they had a few more items on sale more often then perhaps I could pull out 5-stars.

Love shopping here. Great prices and there is always great service. Found this place on accident and I am so glad I did! I drive from Pontotoc anytime I need to get groceries! Their prices on meat is especially amazing and their produce is always so fresh. Not to mention the crazy large selection! Very groovy.

Bad business practices! Please read before considering shopping here.My wife recently shopped at this store and came home excited thinking she had saved money. However this was not the case, as most of the "sale" items had to be thrown away. Two big bags containing chicken leg quarters were spoiled. When we opened the bags of chicken to separate them into smaller bags to store in the freezer, the smell would knock you out. She also showed me 8 cans of Grands Biscuits that had been marked down, but upon further inspection the "sale" sticker had been applied over the "use by" date which had long since passed. If people want to purchase an out dated item then that's their choice. However its hard to make that decision if the date has been deliberately covered up. I know it was done intentionally as it was the same with all 8 cans.When I called the store I was told to bring them back which I did, but the time and gas it took to drive the 20 miles back negated any discount that my wife thought she was getting by shopping there. I would like to shake the finger of shame at Stokes Supermarket and let them know this will be my last visit and I will take my hard earned money elsewhere.

Helpful employees. Items you can't find anywhere else. We drive for 1.5 hours to get here. I love Stokes. My husband's family is from New Albany. He introduced me to Stokes almost 27 years ago.

Nice clean grocery store. They have more imported stuff that I can't get elsewhere. Hybiscuis blossoms, giant aloe, dried peppers, fresh produce too! Great prices on everything including meats.

Cost plus 10% is the stores motto. You can find things here that you cant in the big box stores, but because I'd the size some things are not available. Overall good store and easy to find items.
