Extremely expensive!! I understand that is open to making a profit, but this is Highway robbery. The meat prices aren't as bad. You would think during these hard times they would try to help ease the financial burden of those in their small community, but obviously not. The selection of products is decent and employees are always friendly. Due to the extremely high prices I have to give 3 stars

Went through the lunch line literally was looking at a piece of baked chicken thigh and the lady sat there and tries to tell me there is no chicken thighs when I'm literally sitting there looking at the damn chicken thighs but whatever I guess she was saving it for someone else and I wasn't the right person if you don't want to serve people in the food line don't work in the food line and don't lie to people when they can literally see the food you're sitting there telling them that you don't have

Vowels really offers the best meat deals I’ve seen. Chicken wings today are 4.35 for 3.5 lbs….heck of a deal also is the smith field ribs for around 10.00 bucks a rack.

It's just your small town grocery store where employees and the people here that shops are like family. Normally, we see the same people come in everyday and that what draws us here as employees closer to those who comes in and shops at our store here. We all know each other by name and in my opinion it's not like coming to work everyday it's like coming home away from home. I be working here now soon be five years now and it's been a pleasure to work here and most importantly to me is to serve those who comes and shops with us. That is top priority to me and that s to serve our customers to the best of my ability and too see to it that they leave here satisfied and happy. So that way to ensure that those people will come back because we appreciate them all. What else can I say, with out them, I wouldn't have a job there so I have to show how thankful I am to them all personally...

I know it’s a small town so they can’t always turn over inventory very fast. But I’m always disappointed when I pick something up and it’s either already out of date or nearly out of date. So, I always look. It’s frustrating when they haven’t pulled the old stuff off the shelf.

Great meat and vegetable selections. Prices are comparable to the bigger grocery chains. Very clean and well stocked. Friendly clerks. I'd shop there more often if it was closer to my home.

The only grocery store in town I think they need too step there game up. Staff needs too be more nicer, food needs too be more fresher,and the shelves need to be more clean. Meaning they have old items on the shelves. They need too be aware of recall items and pull them as well. There fruits need too be more fresher mainly there bananas and tomatoes. The store just needs a cleaness feel and its kind of a old store nothing up to date, to be the only grocery store in Mendenhall.

They are overpriced. They need competition in that small town. Also, their portions are small on the lunch/dinner plates. At least they're open. At least that town has a grocery store. Also, produce can be less than fresh sometimes.

It's the only grocery store in Mendenhall so the prices on most stuff is higher than Wal-Mart and Piggly Wiggly. Watch the paper for specials and deals. Staff is friendly and helpful. If u need special requests on meats or anything just ask the guy at the back and they'll help you out. Good small-town folks

I myself am a worker at Vowells in Mendenhall. I work as a stocker,Tuesday's and Thursday's I work as a bagger in the front from 6-12. I also do odd and end jobs there on anything extra that needs to be done or do things extra that needs to be done as in changing light fixtures, water the plants that we have coming in during the spring in every morning, I work the receiving and drive the forklift when needed, and anything basically that I'm asked to do I do my best to get that done. I worked there going on two yrs now this coming July. Of course, not all things are perfect... Nothing really is. We have a couple minor things that needs to be done and some improvements that we have to make, but we are actually working to better those things as time goes by. As for as my co workers... During the shifts I work; we are like a family. We all work hard and we look out for one another as employees should at any work place. Our custermers in my opinion are our business not jus the company itself. Because without them.... We have no business in our store. I myself, try to make there shopping convient as I can.

This location needs to have the Mississippi Health Department to come by and look at what is stockpiled on Eggs cause they are not fitting to actually consume cause after you cook them they stink from sitting long periods of time and their bread (not the name brand) is not fresh like the other stores (Byram for starters)
