I just went shopping at the corner market in Magnolia Mississippi. The cashiers are friendly to people who work there friendly. The reason I gave it one star is that I was charged nine dollars and some change for one tomato.. the price was actually $2.02 and they tell me that the cashier was going to be reprimanded but I don’t think it was his fault. It was hectic and people were pushing. I will never spend my money in that place again, and I think someone to question when I return the item and asked for my change back I was told that that’s fine but it’s not right for them to tell me it was my fault and cashiers fault also. I go to a small church here in town and everyone I see at church Sunday. I will tell them about this incident. People should not act like the manager that I spoke with in the office. If I had the extra money to give to that store for nothing, I would have done it to keep that man from getting in trouble.

In a small town like Magnolia restaurants and cafe's have come and gone. It's NICE to see this grocery store has seen and met the need for a place the locals can go and pickup a plate lunch. The TOWN is just not quite big enough to SUPPORT a free standing eating establishment.

I will start by saying that I would happily pay more for a higher quality, nicer shopping experience - especially when it comes to our food. Unfortunately this is not the case with this "new" Corner Market location, which was refitted in an old Kroger. We waited 2 months for the store to open, having been to the other nicer CM locations. And we were so looking forward to having an upmarket style grocery store, so that we could stop driving all the way to Covington or Hammond (Louisiana) for groceries. We even waited until *after* the grand opening so that they could work out any glitches, as is typical with new store openings. What we found with this location is that it should have just stayed a Kroger It is not any nicer, not any cleaner, and the only change is that they are seriously price gouging people in an area where half the population really could use a break. Not to mention the (accidental?) overcharges - two of which I caught on the spot, and one I didn't. So I ended up paying $5 for ONE pound of tomatoes (1.2 pounds to be exact) which were also mis-classified as Roma (they were actually just 2 small slicing tomatoes). Had I not caught the other 2 glaring errors, I would have paid $6 for a small onion and over a dollar for one small jalepeno. Half the items rang up were wrong, overcharging to the stores benefit, not mine. Shelf tags still had expired sales listed, giving the incorrect sale price, which we noticed as we were putting them in the cart - so we put them back on the shelf. But who knows how many people wouldn't have noticed? Some of the staff are very kind, as is the typical Southern Hospitality for the area - others clearly do not want to be there, or were more interested in chatting with their friends. Props to the produce employee, as he clearly cares for his area and takes pride in his job. But using the Roma tomatoes (that I didn't actually buy) as an example...at $2.49 lb when you could go to the next grocery store over and get them for $1.18 lb. Hello??? The retail manager seems to have a serious disconnect from reality or is terribly misinformed about their target audience. I could write another few paragraphs about some of the shocking disparities in their pricing, but I digress. We'll hold out hope for the new German owned grocery store that is opening in December. Until then, we'll keep driving to Louisiana- it's less expensive than shopping at this Corner Market.

Stopped in recently for a few items for a road trip, while visiting friends in the area. Chick with blue hair was super polite and helpful, great sense of humor when I was fumbling with my wallet trying to find my card. This store makes me want to move to this town.

Some items are cheaper at the Dollar General right up the road, like the Starbucks Frappucinos. At Sunflower they are $2.99 but at Dollar General they are $2.75 or 2 for $5. They have good prices on their meat products. I saw some of their cereal prices and they were really high. But that's gonna be the case with most stores.

It is convenient and the employees are friendly. Some things are a little expensive but they have sales and it is a good place to get a few things and get out quickly.

Store clean , small variety compared to a big chain but the employees were extremely helpful and polite. They also have an excellent plate lunch.

Prices are pretty high here. If you can go farther without the gas price over shooting what your grocery savings will gain you, I'd advise it.
