While at this sporting goods store, I had an amazing time. The staff in the very back of the store was so knowledgeable. The training and attention they gave to my questions were top-notch. There was a young male in the gun section who was truly an expert in artillery and firearms. I had no idea I would learn so much at Academy Sports. I will definitely return.

I love the store. Just wish it was stocked with complete inventory. I tend to pick up my outdoor cooking equipment and utensils here. I also come and see what new types of grills and griddles, as well as deep fryers, are being made.

Madison location is really busy but, I didn't wait 5 minutes for the bicycle, purchased online to be brought to my parking spot. The bicycle was fully assembled and put together well. Customer service was excellent

This store mailed me an online order for shoes and sent a busted, broken box with ONE MENS SHOE AND ONE KIDS SHOE. It was blatantly obvious and whoever packaged it didn’t care. Mississippi- yeah, ok.

Staff was nice. Store was clean. The only reason for 4 stars was no employee wanted to come help check customers out. There was a line of like 15 customers and they had 1 cashier. There was plenty of help around the store but none that wanted to help up front.

They have just about any sporting equipment you might need. This is the first place I like to take my child to get sports equipment. Especially because youngsters will grow out of the equipment so fast and Academy has very reasonable prices.

Store had good selection, but didn’t seem like there was much help on the floor.When checking out the line was wrapped all the way back into the main isle and only the 2 registers at customer service checking out.People coming in with returns were sent to the back of the checkout line.We had found a pair of boots on sale from $109 to $89 online. We we’re trying as fast as we could with bad cell service to get the sku. The cashier wasn’t about to try and help us, just kept asking for the sku. We finally gave up and just paid the full price as there was such a long line behind us and didn’t want everyone to have to keep waiting because the cashier wasn’t helping.When we got outside we found sku online for this exact store, but wasn’t about to waste another 45 minutes waiting to get back through that line.

I went to the Madison Store on the 6th of this month and bought a hand gun for my protection and I couldn't even get the bullet out of the chamber I called and talk to a sporting good manager and was told I could not bring the gun back and it has never been shot that is 438.00 in the garage and it is NOT A GUN FOR A WOMAN IT HAS NO SAFTY ON IT PEOPLE TAKE ADVANTAGE OF WOMEN IF YOU DON'T KNOW ANY BETTER SO I AM WRITING THIS REVIEW TO NEVER BUY A FIREARM FROM THESE PEOPLE.

I was already an Academy Sports fan. This new store: beautiful! Great selection, good prices. Gabriel is awesome. If you need help, find him! Still my favorite sporting goods store, but even more so after today. In fact, I got help from several employees at the same time while some places I can't get help at all.

I can find just about everything for my kids for sports. I bought a swing set from here, and my kids love it. The guy was very knowledgeable about the product that I was getting and even found a product that was close to it. Went in the store, and they have so many shoes on sale. My son found some shoes for track and didn't have to pay an arm and a leg for them.

Very nice employees!! I live in Pearl, and came all the way to Madison because they were the only store that had roller skates that would fit my daughter. It was well worth it!! The friendly employees and the smile on my daughter's face just made my day!!

Experience shopping here is not the same like the one in Rankin County, cashier here are rude and unprofessional. Should rethink when hiring employees, and have more training for them. Lets keep Madison the same everyone should be treated equal.
