Okay, so you locals may already know that Vowell's Marketplace in Louisville, Mississippi is the best kept secret around here for getting great bargains on meat. Well, maybe I didnt know, but call me convinced!I went there to get meat, but I had no idea I would come away with so much that it would require buying a mini deep freeze. But for the price, I couldn't resist!Not only that, but I was highly impressed with their produce department: as I judge every grocery store based on the quality and condition of their yellow squash.That's because when I was a kid, we raised squash on this very square of land where I live now. And we had to be very, very careful. We pampered it like the most posh pet.We cut our nails down to nothing, wore long sleeves, and were very gentle with handling it; so that it would not bruise or scratch at all. Even a squash's own leaves are prickly, and can scratch the squash. Then, the scratch turns into an ugly brown mark on the vegetable. So if you see excellent beautiful squash, that is the mark of a careful farmer, and a wise grocer.As I selected my squash, I remembered that we actually used to sell our own beautiful squash to this same store, back when I was a kid.I don't want great stores like this to go out of business, because they carry things that people don't carry anymore. Such as: Hoop Cheese, Fatback, and Pickle Loaf sandwich meat. Do any of you even know what that is?$126.75 for: Breakfast steak, chuck roast, seasoned chicken drumsticks, fresh pork neckbone meat (boneless), a huge pork loin, family pack NY strip steaks, pork western style ribs, sirloin pork chops, stir fry beef, salt pork, 2.5 lbs of bacon, pork fatback, and locally made "Rebel BBQ Rub". Mmmmm!I will be back to Vowell's grocery. Oh yes, I will be back.And this time, I've got room in the freezer.

I don't go often because of course they don't carry a lot of things that some place like Walmart does but I do love to go here to buy my meat and they had a nice selection of vegetables the last time I went. I'd like to see a wider variety of say the yogurt I eat because that's one item I then still have to go to Walmart for. Overall a very good store to grocery shop at.

Vowells employee's are all very friendly and wonderfully accommodating. We frequently shop here as it is within walking distance of our home. Prices are a bit higher than I like but they do have 2 wonderful $1 isle's.

Wonderful grocery store. They always have great deals on lots of different things every week. They also have a neat app that shows you exactly what’s on sale and will let you know of freebies going on

Locally owned and operated with support for local food producers. Most of what you want and all of what you need. If they don't have it, the friendly staff can possibly stock it for you.

I visit this site for their Butchery Dept and dollar aisles in particular even if I've purchased all or most of my other items nearby. Sale papers here are helpful and generally highlight feature several particularly good deals available each week.

Went in for fabric softner, but stopped at the restroom before driving home...Disgusting!!!!Feces on walls floors, toilet seat , dry urine also on walls floors toilet seat, if the management expects paying customers to use that toilet, or employees then please keep it sanitary!

Great deals on the pick 5. They are $15.99. But you have to get the coupon out of the sales paper. 1 coupon per pick5.

They have an App now and it helps with savings,they have Sales.. My stepdad works here as well and He knows Wher everything is at without looking up..The cakes are fresh when they make them..

It was ok very expensive and a lot of people were rude but that what you get when you live in a small town and they don't have any competition there deli was horrible the food was cold will never eat their deli again

Good prices on meat and the selection is good also. I got 4 steaks for 17 dollars.
