Umm, so I’ve eaten here a couple of times in the past and recall leaving full and satisfied. However, things seemed to have changed on my most recent visit. We all ordered the Catfish Allison. It tasted fine, but I left hungry. The accompanying side salad was really good. I just wish I had more food overall. We did get complimentary bread, but that didn’t help much lol. Aside from the food, the server was pretty good and there’s a neat store inside as well. I just think we paid way too much for what we ate. There’s a dessert bar for an extra fee, but we decided not to because everyone serves themselves. It just didn’t seem like a sanitary situation.

Save room for pie!The food was great. We both had catfish but two different dishes. Warm bread in pie slices constantly offered. Three different employees told us to make sure and try all the pies! $3.00 per person self service for the pies all you want to eat. We tried 5 different pie slices and all were great too!

The Catfish Florentine is amazing over rice. Vegetables fresh and wonderful. I love the house salad and the breads they offer. Bought the cookbook from gift shop and the owner and author of The Crown signed it for me. Looking forward to many good meals and if I’m ever back in the area will eat there again. Did I mention she makes the best pies!

We recently had lunch at The Crown and were charmed by the friendly folks and comfort food. The menu was typical delta fare with flair. The paneed catfish was good and the chicken salad was tasty. The raisin and broccoli salad was quiet good. The sandwiches looked to be good as well. I absolutely adore this little place far from any interstate. The quality of their gourmet is up to par with those of the finest resturants. I couldn't ask for better service and the dessert was just perfect. I wish I could be here everyday but unfortunately I have to get back to work as an over-the-road trucker. When in town this is now my go to place. Jennifer, l look forward to seeing you again.

What an amazing find. Stopped in The Crown on the way back from New Orleans. We were offered the bread (which was delicious) multiple times. Needless to say, I ate multiple slices of it. Everyone was just so friendly and I really felt that southern charm and comfort from the time I walked in till when I left. As much as I love Cajun/Creole food (New Orleans)....I was ready for the chance to have some hearty southern cooking. I wasn't disappointed. The catfish, the green beans and all the pies at the dessert table....It was all delicious. I bought a few of the pie mixes and the Jezebel sauce. The sauce is fantastic - reminded me a little of a chutney. I haven't tried the mixes yet, but can't wait. If you are passing through Indianola, MS - You must stop to eat here.

This restaurant made me happy. Between the super attentive and warm service, excellent warm bread, tasty catfish over rice, and the dessert buffet, and the colorful artwork on the walls - just made me happy. Oh, yeah, forgot the side salad! It was exquisitely appointed, with pieces of fruit and sweet dressing and crouton bits over greens. They also have a neat gift shop.

Love southern deliciousness and courtesy.Great atmosphere, and WOW They don't write you a guest check, the use the "Honor system" Go to register and tell them what you had. That's good enough for them.Ohhhh, and the beer bread free appetizer is so good!

Awesome place! The food and service was excellent. Local food and good portions. Super recommend. I highly recommend getting the desert bar as the pies we're amazing. Also the bread was a great way to start the day. We had lunch there after going to the B.B. King Museum.

The Crown is one of my favorite restaurants ever! If you are anywhere near Indianola, you should make it a priority to go to the Crown for lunch! The Catfish Allison is my favorite. The desserts are phenomenal as well.

Every now and then, when the stars align in just a certain way, you find yourself in a position to enjoy the type of place that will stick in the back of your mind for some time. This is one of those places. The Crown is tucked away in downtown Indianola, MS in a rather nondescript little place you would more than likely overlook if you hadn't been prompted to look for. I could go on about what enthralled me about this place, but I'll let you check it for yourself. I will say you MUST TRY the Catfish Allison !!!!!! They're only open for lunch, so don't Dilly Dally.

The Great Grilling with both cheeses and added fruit is amazing. They have a lot of pre made items as well as custom made ones. They have a lot in such a beautiful space. Highly Recommend 🏆

I was welcomed with a smile by the hostess... seated quickly and given a waitress that was fast, friendly and willing to answer all my questions wit a smile...the food tasty. And I just loved the bread....and the unlimited dessert bar was a major plus....

This was the worst part of my day! The service was horrible and so was the food. The overuse of mayo was as incredible as the server's hair flying over the bread. YUCK!

Perfect place for a cozy lunch on a rainy day. The beer bread, catfish salad and gumbo were tops! The friendly proprietors were there and spoke to us as well.

I got their chicken allison. It was so dry, I drank 4 glasses of tea to get it down. I was shocked people raved about this dish. I saw it as a place where the wealthier go and the quality of the food didn't really matter.
