We took a dog there that had gotten into my son's fence. The owner had been there earlier, so I hope the owner goes back. The dog was very friendly. They do a great job with their animals.

I adopted Zeus (Jasper) from this animal shelter. Despite the fact that I love my little hyper Zeus to pieces, he was diagnosed with heartworm. I've had him for 2 months now, and the vet stated that he's had it for over 6 months by now... To think that all of the animals that are kept outside at this facility probably have heartworm. It would be nice if testing for heartworm was as important as being spayed or neutered before adopting out... Now for extra expenses due to their negligence

Well i thought we’re going to a business (animal shelter)Horrible customer service, that’s the first thing, we weren’t greeted , barely even acknowledged. As soon as we mentioned interest in a small dog or puppy, she said no and started talking to somebody else.

The hardworking crew here deserve a pat on the back and public support. They work long hours and truly care about the sweet animals in their care. Our family drops off donations monthly and applaud the staff for all they do. Please also consider supporting events and fundraising by the Friends of the Horn Lake Animal shelter. 🐾

Great place to foster or adopt a pet from. Most pets come with rabies shots, microchipped, spayed/neutered.

Was told on the phone a dog I wanted was available only to be told I wasn’t worthy because our previous dog was hit by a car. I get the concern but I also expressed to them I had lived at that location for 33 years and it was the only dog we have lost that way. The conditions of the facility looked poor with dogs In kennels on the ground. I would have provided a much better home than the animals have there. In my opinion they are doing a poor job of decision making going on their hunches about people. The director made my decision without talking to me personally or trying to meet me. The area also is way back near a railroad track and gps gets you lost trying to find it. The facility looks overcrowded as well so it irks me to be turned down. Horn Lake should be ashamed.

The volunteers were very kind and put a lot of effort into helping our family find a right match. The dogs were taken care of and socialized. Everyone was friendly.I only wish the city put a little more money into making the dogs loving better. But, that is not the fault of the workers, volunteers, or the animals.

The people who work tirelessly to make sure these animals are taking care of are angels. They deserve every kindness in the world. The city of horn lake should be ashamed to the conditions their animal shelter is in. You can clearly tell how under funded the shelter is. I hope the city will do better in getting funds to those who don't have a voice.

Just drove 50 miles to see a sweet looking little dog named Reba that a friend of mine posted that got returned because of ignorance. Was there the minute they opened and was denied and told by appointment only. I drove that far to give a sweet little dog a Great home. You people suck. Sorry Reba. Good Luck baby

Told me I was getting the dog after he is neutered..Drove 2 hours to meet him and fell in love.. They told me I could come back Friday and pick him up then I called just to check in with him and got told that I can’t he can’t come with me….I feel cheated out of a chance to give that baby such a loving home now he is gonna spend it there where there is no freedom/love for him…

Most unhelpful crew I have ever met. They act like they want to find homes for dogs but refuse to show you a dog unless you make an appointment during times people work. Says open till 4 but stop appointments at 2:30. Funny how you talk online about trying to find animals a home but give such terrible time frames In order to allow people time to get there.

Um I think it should be made known to the public that it no longer exists because we tried finding it and GPS claimed it was in the middle of the road and it wasn't. It was a very creepy abandoned part of the city.

Major improvements are being undertaken here by very special and dedicated people. Volunteers are needed badly. When all upgrades are completed the hours of operation will be updated!!

Found a stray kitten on the side of the road this place was the closest place to me but I get told just because I don't have a Mississippi address then they don't want the animal. Like really so your saying don't be a good Samaritan unless you live in that area.

Just extremely rude. Was bringing donated medicine to them and before they knew what I was there for; they treated me like garbage.

Drove 60 miles just to find out you have to make an appointment and it takes 48 hours for them to get back to you after feeling out an adoption application

Since we didn’t live in horn lake we couldn’t bring our cat to the shelter. if you really cared about the well being of animals you would take in all animals
