Our little Oscar is probably 9-10 years old. He has several health issues going on. Some he had prior to us rehoming him.It is Wonderful to have a vet that listens and addresses each concern you have. And does that with such compassion. I have no doubt he received the best of care and he is already showing signs of improvement after 24 hours. All the ladies are so helpful and kind that assist in our pets care too.Thank You Dr Karley Pitts and techs and staff for taking such good care of my little man.

First I will say that the young lady Vet was very sweet and professional!! She helped with our Andy and he got better. We thank you! My only suggestion would be your front desk clerk. When we arrived she was very rude. She was complaining about all the work she had to get done and used foul language in the midst of explaining what all she had to get done. While she was entering our information she told the next in line she would get to them when she could and they would have to wait. They were just standing there patiently and were as shocked as us how rude she was. Very unprofessional! She was a thin young lady with a unique wedding ring, when she calmed down told me about. Front desk courtesy needs improvement! My only suggestion!!!

Dr DEBRUHL was AMAZING! She saved my cats life in an emergency surgery. She was so kind and informative. She answered all of my questions and concerns & made me feel safe. Spunky will always be thankful for you! Highly highly highly recommend

I brought my puppy in that was attacked by a cat and had a few puncture wounds and a messed up eye. The wait did not bother me but when we were finally seen we were rushed and they didn’t even fully look at her. I didn’t even get to ask questions without being cut off or talked over but the one question I did get to ask was what should I do about her eye. I was quoted it was “just a watery eye and I should leave it alone.” So I did, I gave her meds as I was instructed and 10 days later her eye didn’t get any better…in fact it got way worse. I took her to a different vet and her eye is so bad that they are planning to surgically take it out. The new vet said “all of this could have been avoided if her eye was properly looked at and treated.” (The nurse we got was sweet tho)

Love it!! My boy had his shots and Dr. Annabelle was the sweetest! He did such a good job and had NO anxiety. They are also soo flexible with payment! I 100% recommend for your pups.

The staff were very nice. But, the price for service was ridiculously expensive. My dog was bitten by another and was left with 4 punture wounds and this place determined to only suture "1" puncture wound and charge either a "low" end cost of 1592.18 or a higher end cost of 1891.91! I mean, wow!! The estimated cost for the laceration repair was only 94.00. Then why a "choice" of 2 estimates? (To me both were high when the repair cost was so low). Again, wow!! I ended up leaving there with antibiotics and pain meds for my dog's comfort and received aid elsewhere at the much lower rate. Numbed the areas that needed attention and suture up.My dog is doing fine and is in good spirits. "WOW"

Dr Mayfield Jr. took excellent care of my precious English Bulldog. He had a huge mass removed from his thyroid. The entire clinic treated my dog and I like we were family.

I will only write this review for Kobe and no one else. I wont disrespect his Beautiful spirit by offending anyone or presenting anything in this article that is not fact. Every word is fact.I will tell you about the best four years of my life. Every single day my best friend who is also my soulmate/trained service dog (as we went nowhere apart), was always at my side until the night I brought him to AMC with a fever. We just moved from California where the past four years he had the same doctor Dr Peter Heinen Palm Springs Animal Hospital. I chose Dr. Heinen for my doberman before Kobe because I heard he was one of the best veterinarians in Southern California and it was true. Dr. Heinen is one of the best doctors of veterinary medicine I have ever known. I was blessed to have my first Doberman Pinscher named Pepper with me for over 16 years and in wonderful health until 3 days before she passed away in my arms, in my living room in my own house with the assistance of Dr. Heinen who was by our side through the process and then gently left us alone while I cried for my Pepper. He waited patiently in my kitchen until I was ready for him and his assistant to take her back to his clinic as I said my last goodbye. He did everything he could all the years that I brought her to him, he did everything he could to make sure her passing was as peaceful and painless as it should be, and he did everything he could to make sure our transition was a blessing. Kobe was the miracle after my loss four years ago.Kobe and I just weeks ago were climbing mountains swimming in the ocean running through the desert and walking through the cities and parks every single day. He was the most amazing Doberman I’ve ever seen in my life and was in amazing health with no underlying heart conditions as we were cleared by two Veterinarians to fly together, we had all the documents tests and vaccines cleared for arrival in Barbados which was our next stop. Suddenly weeks after moving here, he got sick from what I expected was poisoning of some type however the vet at American Medical Center wanted to keep him two nights and run a lot of tests they brought his temperature and heart rate to normal gave him fluids and when I saw him last he was showing progress, had great vital signs and was resting peacefully. At 4:41 AM over nine hours later and after several hours of no attention to Kobe by any staff, while I was out in my car, a nurse administered a routine procedure to three dogs, the one next to Kobe went into a seizure and Kobe stopped breathing from a suspected heart attack The doctor came in and they both stood there looking down at Kobi not doing anything but waiting for him to die.At 4:45 I was given a call saying that Kobe had passed away but I was right outside and instantly ran into the E.R.A look of shock and disbelief was on the dumbfounded faces of the doctor and nurse upon my instant arrival.I dropped down beside him crying my soul out. I don’t know what that nurse gave him and the other dog after checking their vitals but it euthanized Kobe and no one tended to the seizing dog beside him. I was in shock and disbelief that this was really happening I noticed that in fact he was not breathing but not dead and even though they said his heart had stopped I could still feel life and him and I could see it in his eyes looking back at me like he was paralyzed. the most horrible experience of my entire life. They refused to resuscitate him as I desperately begged my sweet Kobe to come back to me while rubbing his belly trying to wake him up.but was pulled away several minutes by two officers just as Kobe’s tongue fell out and fluid rushed from his nose. at that moment I knew without a doubt he just passed. This does not happen to a four year old Doberman pincher in his prime and in peak physical health just days before.I will never know what Kobe died from and they tell me the end diagnosis is sudden unexpected death from an unknown cause??? I only know these details because I insisted on viewing security footage showing this accident.

I have a 3 year old doggo. They did so much for my boy. They did an intricate surgery to remove a mass in my Murphys abdomen which is incredibly rare for a dog of his age. Unfortunately Murphys outlook is not good. The mass was cancerous. This was some of the most difficult news to hear. Evey single doctor that worked on or with my boy was so kind and loving towards him even when he was being bad because he was in pain. They gave me 3-6 more months with my baby by performing this life saving surgery. I am so grateful, but it wasn't their services I was impressed with, which were beyond impressive, but their kindness. Upon delivering the news, Dr. Mayfield reassured me that I am a good dog mom and that Murphy is a good dog. It broke my heart but made me so happy and grateful. That kindness will never be forgotten. Those words will stay with me forever. Thank you (the entire staff) for everything you do. Murphy is grateful to live out the rest of his days comfortably at home.Update - Unfortunately Murphy passed due to his cancer just 3 short months after his life saving surgery. Im so thankful murphy passed surrounded by love with his head in my lap at the animal medical center with his favorite vet, Dr.Mayfield, by his side as well. I'm so thankful he was able to live a normal and happy life for those few months with us. Again, I'll always remember the quality of care my boy received and the infinite kindness of the staff.

Took great care of my puppy when he got sick late on a Saturday night. The staff were friendly and did a great job explaining what needed to happen. My little guy is doing so much better.

They took advantage of my husband and I when we brought our dog in for an ex-ray for an amount of $1200. My husband and I were concerned that she ate a beef bone. We thought she had parts of the bone in her stomach. We looked at the two ex-rays which I was certified as a ex-ray technician years ago in dentistry; so I knew what to look for. There were no indication of any large bones in the dogs stomach and what was in there could easily pass through her intestines. There first recommendation was to perform surgery which would cost us up to $4700. Surgery proved not necessary and basic treatment which was can food; mineral oil and two ex-rays. They made it sound like this was a life and death situation and they said they had to keep her over night which was not necessary. They had her on an IV and feed her mineral oil and dog food to supposedly remove the bones, but there were no large bones to be removed. So, for $1200 just to feed her mineral oil with can food we could have feed her ourselves. Not happy and would like at least 70% of out money back.

I have been using AMC since moving here over 30 years ago. The people there, vets, vet techs, and all the other staff are always very friendly and helpful. One thing I really like is that they try their best to make nervous pets feel safe and at ease. I feel that my many pets have always gotten the best of care when there. There have also been a few miracles worked over the years. A recent one was about 4 years ago. Our dog Remi stopped eating, became lethargic, and then went into labored breathing. We were out of town, about an hour away, but I rushed her back to AMC because I knew it was probably serious and she would get the best care there. Dr. Mayfield, Jr., after tests, diagnosed her with a Diaphragmatic Hernia and did immediate emergency surgery on her. No doubt in my mind that he saved her life. She’s a happy, healthy dog today. And sometimes it’s smaller things the vets notice that just improves a pets life. We had an elderly dog, Dodger, that in his later years developed bad arthritis in his back knees. Dr. Mayfield, III told me about something called Stem Cell therapy and that he thought it might help Dodger. So, we tried it and it did improve the quality of life for him. Also, we sometimes have to make that hard decision to let our pets go when it’s the best thing for them. At AMC, I’ve always been able to be with my pet when that time came, surrounded by such caring and understanding people. It’s a special place in my book!

This was my first visit. On a Saturday morning my dog ran in the street chasing a squirrel and ran into the side of a slow moving car. I rushed her straight over to be examined. Miraculously she turned out to be fine. The staff was great and checked her out immediately. My only complaint, and I do hope you all will take this to heart, is that she was prescribed an anti-flammatory medication that I was told was treat flavored. That turned out to be very unfortunate. I went home in a daze and set out a 1/2 tab on the table and went around the corner to the kitchen to get some dry food. Meanwhile my cat jumped up and ate the medication. Ultimately it was entirely my fault for setting it out and walking away, however, a regular medication wouldn't have evoked any attention. It meant yet another trip to the clinic to induce vomiting. Thankfully my cat was ok. But I could see this happening with other animals and possibly young children so personally I would not want treat flavored medications in the future.

I thought my sweet baby Rizzo was dying last night and they told me to bring her here. They were so extremely kind and attentive to us. We felt like family. Rizzo is alive and has medicines for the hookworms. She is happy and wagging her tail in gratitude as deep as her Mami’s. 💜

The team here is absolutely amazing. We came out of state on our way to move to Nevada and they were able to see our cat immediately. Had no problem setting him up with sub-derm fluids for the remainder of our ride and were extremely welcoming. Honestly wish we weren't moving so far away or we would stick with them as our new all the time vet!

My dog needed tore her CCL in both hind legs last year, and Dr. Belcher took such great care of my girl. She is such an anxious dog, but the whole staff goes above and beyond to make sure she feels comfortable and calm. They walk us through everything that's going on with her, and it's clear they really do care. I absolutely love that they call to check up on my dog after sick visits to see if she's feeling better.

An emergency visit resulted in euthanasia. I was given the the options to take my pet home, a group cremation, or a private cremation. I opted for private, but was given no further details. I have called each day in an attempt to get information on the situation, and I'm met with skepticism and excuses. I was informed that someone from the clinic chose my urn for me. I was never given the choice. Now that I've had the opportunity to make my choice clear, I'm told that when my pets remains arrive at the clinic, they'll have to be sent back to the crematorium to be placed in a new urn, customized again, and wait an additional week for them to be returned to the clinic despite my continued attempts to bring attention to, and fix, their mistakes. There's no accountability, and the staff clearly aren't concerned with how sensitive of an issue this is. I'd recommend avoiding this clinic if at all possible.

Our poor kitty Reggie was attacked by a dog and we brought him here and had a wonderful experience with the staff. They did all they possibly could. Very professional, kind, and comforting when he passed due to injuries. The reason for the 3 Stars is because 3 days after our boy passed at the facility we got a call to ask how he was doing after his visit which was obviously very upsetting. The lady on the phone said his passing was not in the chart. I know how hectic it is to work in a vets office, let alone an emergency clinic, but there's no reason it should not have been written down as he passed within about 30 minutes of being there.

We have been clients at AMC for almost 20 years now and there is no other place we would go to bring our furbabies to. The crew here makes you feel like family and the love for animals is amazing.
