Great store with great people. Bought something and shared stories with like minded people that love antiques and collectibles like we do. New to the area and had no idea they did restoration in house. Get it fixed and save the well made furniture you have instead of buying particle board online.

First of all everyone there is so friendly and helpful! I brought in two pieces that needed a lot of help. They are about 30 years old have been through normal wear and tear, multiple moves as well as sat in storage for a few years. I had a specific budget I wanted to stay under! They were able to work some magic and stay within my budget. . My furniture looks brand new! Will definitely use That Gumbo Life again and I recommend them! Also I love looking around the store there is always some of the neatest stuff in there!

Their team did such an amazing job on our poker table. We had brought it in pretty beat up with a lot of work needed and they handled it like pros. Absolutely love my old “new” bar stools. The ladies were easy to work with. I brought in my own fabric and Ms Tori worked her magic. We even had some confusion on costs and the owner - Ms Monica noticed it before I did and immediately issued a refund before I made it back to my home. The quality is work is absolutely the best I’ve ever seen from the working the crocodile fabric over the seat cushion to the seams and the finishing Brad heads around the back, front and cushions tieing the design and overall look together. You can tell Monica’s team is passionate and cares about their art and it shows in the finished product. I’d trust my family heirlooms to this team. Thanks again Monica, Tori and the whole TGL Team!

I have a fifty year old handcrafted wooden jewelry box. It has a lot of sentimental value. The box was in horrible shape. The felt was destroyed. The box was chipped and falling apart. I took it to The Gumbo Life and worked with Jason. Jason is a true craftsman. His level of skill is hard to find. He transformed my ugly box into a jewelry box that is exceptional and functional. He did more than I asked and kept me informed. I just love my beautiful jewelry box and I can proudly display my jewelry. Jason is fantastic.

I can’t say enough about the service I received at “That Gumbo Life.” I saw “That Gumbo Life’s” ad on Facebook saying they repaired furniture. A dining room chair had broken and would be hard to replace so I took it to That Gumbo Life. They repaired it perfectly and at a reasonable cost. They also repaired my husband’s rollator which I hadn’t planned to leave there and were so kind to me. Antiques are great too!

I'm so disappointed in my experience with That Gumbo Life. I ordered and paid for a beautiful piece of furniture (with $150 shipping cost) on May 18. Monica told me it was going to ship out of her shop on May 26 with the white glove shipping service I paid for and that the shipping service would contact me directly. On June 2, I followed back up with Monica for an update as the shipper never got in touch with me. She responded and said she'd reach out to them and then be back in touch. She never got back in touch with the update. On June 8, I reached out again asking for an update or a tracking number and didn't hear back. On June 9, I let her know that if I didn't hear back by the end of the day I was going to have to dispute the charge (which is appx $900) with Amex as it's been nearly a month and I still don't have a tracking number, the name of the shipping company, an estimated arrival date - NOTHING! After I opened the claim with Amex, I went online to start searching for a different piece to purchase and I see that Monica and That Gumbo Life has THE SAME piece I purchased (and by purchased, I mean FULLY PAID FOR) still up for sale in her shop. I'm so frustrated in the lack of communication and also what seems like incredibly shady business practices. I wouldn't recommend buying from That Gumbo Life - especially if you're going to have them ship your furniture.
