Perhaps almost a museum of folk art and blues history masquerading as a unique shop with books, music, posters art and trinkets celebrating the local area and scene. Frank was also quite conversational and friendly and gave some insight about the local community which was appreciated.

Could spend another hour here perusing the selections and visiting with proprietor. Really enjoyed discussing the musical lore and history of the people, the art, and the town of Clarksdale. The shop has anything and everything you could want and plenty of suggestions on other attractions, places to eat, and music to move your blues drawn heart. Definitely make the visit and support the shop.

One of the great Blues & arts institutions of the contemporary South - Cat Head has almost single-handedly revived the Blues scene in Clarksdale (and nearby areas).Your first stop in Clarksdale should always be Cat Head to pick up a weekly music schedule and chat with Roger Stolle. Do anything you can to support the business. It shouldn't be hard - they carry virtually every Delta Blues book known to man, and many great albums/films. Seriously, DO NOT MISS Cat Head (or Red's, or Bad Apple Blues) when you're in Clarksdale.

Best Delta blues music store I know. The owner stayed open late for us and spent 15 minutes discussing local venues and upcoming concerts. Great inventory of local music. Fabulous mix of industrial decor and folk art. Truly a unique place, worth the trip on its own. Be sure to ask the owner about his online video series on local history and music.

Killer record store and the owner (Roger Stolle) is as legit as they come...insanely knowledgeable about all things blues, especially in the Delta, and a heavy promoter of America's finest musical genre (he organizes all kinds of festivals and runs the best Clarksdale live music calendar). Cat Head's is a must-stop anytime I'm in Clarksdale. The owner not only has a fine establishment for blues lovers, but is a successful blues historian and film maker, as well. If he is there and you want to know about anything local, be sure and inquire.There is a great selection of music, books, folk art, and other collectibles. If you are an avid fan of blues music (which you darn well should be) you will love this place. If you're not, I'd recommend stopping inside anyway, you will still likely enjoy it.

This is a record, memorabilia, art, and book store. I saw old festival and show posters for sale as well. The owner is a local blues enthusiast who also organizes blues festivals and has even written a book on delta blues. If you want to know what's happening in Clarksdale, you can't do better than the information on the store web site, or just by asking the owner while you're there. If you're in Clarksdale it's worth a visit.

Buono per turismo senza preteseHi Roger, no problem during the visit. I was hoping to find something much more interesting in the store. For example, the choice of vinyl records was very poor. From what I had read I would have hoped for something more. Even the merchandising was little for music lovers and much for the "hit and run" tourist. Clarksdale in general I liked it but in some cases, like the Red, it seems there is only the desire to sell something to the tourist on duty. Probably the "blues" is somewhere else.Good musicMichele

This place has everything you need to know about the blues. The owner is great! He let my friends and me busk in front of the store when I was in town for a festival. What a good time. You can't experience Clarksdale without Cathead!
