I got two kittens from here the other day. The staff were very nice and friendly, the establishment itself was clean and items to buy were very fairly priced! It was a bit unorganized as far as who came first to adopt which pet. It was a bit of a mix up for me to get the two kittens I came for because there was a discrepancy around who was here first. That process could improve. Nonetheless, after some confusion, I got my two kittens! I named them Siddalee Walker and Teensy (guess that movie!) The adoption process was non invasive and the prices were fair. I recommend them!

We had an amazing experience here! We came in just wanting to look for a fur baby but ended up falling in love with this little guy and we brought him to his forever home. A huge thank you to the wonderful staff who were very helpful and patient. They had called him Clyde but he is now Dunkin and everyone loves him, he is adjusting well.

Northwoods HS was amazing throughout the process of adopting our first kitten! The application process was quick and easy thanks to the help of the amazing staff! They sent us with lots of his stuff to help him become more acclimated at home and he’s doing great now :)

Northwoods is an absolutely wonderful organization! The staff is so so good. They vet you properly as a potential adopter but don't make it overly difficult and time consuming. I adopted a senior Chihuahua in 2013 and we had many wonderful years until he passed from old age at nearly 18. This past May I adopted a handsome German Shepherd. We are smitten and couldn't be happier!

They put the animals at the center of their work. Impressive organization with incredibly dedicated people who work there. Animals who end up there are treated like staff and volunteers' own fur babies.

We got our kitty Ollie there A few years ago and recently adopted our dog Shelby on Sunday. The staff there is super friendly and gives you as much time as you need with the animals to make sure they're a good fit and good personality with your family. They take great care of the animals. We adopted Tigger (now Luna). She is a great cat. Even tho the adoption papers say that they didn’t know if she was good with kids but she is good with the human (he is 5 years old). Very needy cat. Always following and if we don’t pet her she will let us know. But friendly and lovable cat no complaints.

Unfortunately, we found out the dog I drove 100 miles to meet, was afraid of my Bernie, so it didn't work out for us. Very nice staff. They obviously have their animals best interests in mind

I rescued my kitten from Safe Hands and they book their fixing surgeries with Northwoods so I dropped my kitty off this morning and he was ready to be picked up in just a few hours! Communication was great, the two vets I had met were very friendly and lovey to my kitten. I felt very comfortable leaving my new kitty in their hands.

Was in contact with employee to get a cat. It was stated it was available. Drove 45 minutes to find out they had given it away. Awful customer service. Rude staff. I would have given 0 stars if I could.

Went there to rent a cat trap to capture my cat, and my mom left with a cat of her own! She got an unbelievable deal on her new fur baby! She adopted a 5yr old cat while they had many kittens there. He is such a ❤ and she couldn't be happier with him!

14 years ago, we adopted a one-year old white kitten named Gypsy from Northwoods. In September of 2015, we had to put her down. Northwoods is one of the best shelters I have ever dealt with, and I would adopt from them again in a heartbeat. Wonderful shelter that truly cares about the animals it takes in, and works extraordinarily hard to make sure that every cat, dog, and human finds the companion that is best for them. I recommend NHS to every local friend who is looking to adopt.

Although, I do NOT recommended applying, if you go in for an interview and they don’t choose you among other interviews, you will not be getting any sort of contact back on the position, nothing.. Not worth the time👍

We have met a few family members here. Back in 02 we got Corky here he was an 8 year old Australian shepherd we had six wonderful years with him. December 31st 2016 we brought Rosa, a long legged Chihuahua. She was very shy and timid but eventually came into herself. She loves spending time with her sister Chihuahuas and gets to go on plenty of adventures, we love and treasure her and to say this is her forever home is an understatement.Thank you Northwoods Humane Society, I always love stopping in and visiting with the guests, even if it breaks my heart I can't take each and every one of them home. Stop in and see, you never know who you will meet. It may be your new best friend.

I adopted (JAN) one of the Brady Bunch Chihuahua Pups and we gave her her forever name of Hazel Bazel!! Hazel is an incredible little girl and has totally filled the house and all our hearts with love! I adopted her last Sunday on the 7th of November and within a day, she was bonded with everyone! It's like she was just meant to be with me and I can't thank you enough for this loving, silly, highly intelligent little girl!! What a blessing she is to our family!💜
