They are amazing. They train their dogs and work hard doing it. They give the animals the best care an lots of love. They were wonderful helping thru the adoption process and helped me after the adoption with some issues I was expecting to face. Super people going a great job. They are committed to the animals and make sure they go to good homes. Keep up the awesome job.

My daughter is adopting 2 adorable twin Flame point siamese kittens. Right before she could get them the room they were tested positive for ring worm. The twins tested negative but she can't get them for 6 weeks. I know they're just being careful

I absolutely love the work this place does.and volunteering here is great. They are really great at spending time with the cats. So, if you get one there you will know it has been properly checked out and they can tell you about the personality.I have to edit review because I applied to walk the dogs and never got a response. There is no legitimate reason why my application would be rejected. I have experience with walking dogs. I am allowed to volunteer with the cats. Doesn't make sense because I want to help and I have the time. I doubt they do background checks, but if they do, I have a perfectly clean background check. I'm fit and capable. I see various young men walking dogs there all the time. I can hear the dogs barking like they want to go out when people go in and out of the dog area, so it's not like they don't need the help. Maybe my "very ethnic" last name or the fact that I'm not a man is the problem?? I only see young men walking the dogs. But that may just be a coincidence. There is absolutely no reason to ignore my application to volunteer. Sad that whoever runs the dog side would reject perfectly good applicants for illegitimate reasons. The dogs clearly need more walks. They go nuts barking when the doors open. (I volunteer on the cat side.)

I will say this the new dog director is wonderful as well as the volunteers there. I first started out on a bad not with the old dog director but the new dog director has not let me down and has kept our appointment times. I'm now going to be adopting a dog this week from them. Here is a picture of the dog I'm adopting.

They house the most cats in the state of MN with the lowest amount of euthanasia. Very special.

Fostering for 4.5 years, TNR, taken 40+ kittens to this place. Very well received. Unfortunately the cat directors keep leaving. Wishing the best for them.

Very helpful and kind. I found a kitten abandoned outside after surviving a long freezing night. WAHS took it in and made sure the kitten got the medical attention it needed to be able to recover and hopefully be adopted. Thanks!

Dog walking is great. I love the staff's interactions with the volunteers and the animals. You can tell that they really care about the well being of all creatures. 😉 winona is beautiful in the fall, so that is a bonus!

Lovely place! I adopted my cat from there two years ago today, and the rest is history! Just last week I stopped in to visit blue bay, and multiple cats were trying to snuggle in my lap. It was very cute and relaxing. They may have a lot of rules, but they are in place to protect the animals and give them the most stress free and safe environment they possibly can while the animals wait for their forever homes. I’m okay with following them because I want what’s best for the animals too. Thanks for all you do!

Wonderful no-kill shelter that puts the health and well-being of the animals first. I first visited after my kitty passed away to donate her left over prescription food. The staff asked if I wanted to visit the cats in one of the bays, so I did. Ever since then, I keep on going back. I started volunteering by taking pictures with my camera and sending them to the shelter. It makes me feel so good to socialize with the kitties and capture their personalities to help get them adopted. It is just the best atmosphere to be in. This shelter has truly become my home away from home.

I adopted my cat Janna from here, a great place, everyone is super nice and friendly. I love that it has an open bay for cats, yes you may only get to visit one bay a day but that just means you'll have to come back and visit more. They really care about the well being of the animals, so I definatly don't mind following a few rules to make sure they stay safe and healthy :)

I had to bring my beloved sibling kitties here because of new landlord. I finally got an okay but now they won't let me readopt my cats. I love them cats and miss them so much. It hurts just seeing them in still not adopted 6 months later. When now i have the okay but they act weird about us coming back for them.

We helped get a cat for our parents. The facility was very clean and well attended. Staff and management was friendly and knowledgeable. The rest of the service businesses in the area could stand to learn a bit from them.My parents love the new member of their home!!

The people here are fantastic. I haven't adopted a cat yet, but they do not pressure me to adopt every time. I've been there with my girlfriend to pet cats and they welcome us every time with open arms. They BOGO deals on cats is crazy awesome. I can't wait to do business with the Humane Society.

Gonna go there and look at dogs. We lost our dog 🐕 Frisky. He passed away on Saturday afternoon June 4th in the living room. We're so very sad that we had to leave him behind and alone and let him go. I had to bury him and let him go and leave him alone and behind. It was so very hard and so depressing and upsetting.

Volunteered and donated in the past, but will not again. When I had an issue with a litter of stray cats and a run over mom found on my property, I was told to pound sand. I understand the shelter being full, but staff were rude and disrespectful and less than helpful with situation. Its supposed to be about the animals, but these kittens were treated as a burden and when I asked what I should do since I couldn't take care of them, I was uung up on by the new cat director. Next time I get a donation or auction invite letter, it's going straight in the trash. Take the humane out of your name, you didnt treat me or these animals humanely.

This is a great animal shelter with helpful and caring staff. They are a no kill shelter and the staff will go above and beyond to make sure you get the right animal. They will spay or neuter you cats and can provide you with information about how to best care for your pet. Cat adoptions are free in August.

This agency has changed a lot over the last several years for the better. the staff is very friendly and professional with very large hearts and treat every animal there as if it was their own. Highly recommended when you are searching for a pet to adopt.

Not the friendliest staff. In addition they lied about the dog I adopted they knew and his temperament and still adopted him out to me and then he bit my child. Additionally is almost impossible to visit dogs cause they are never staffed properly.

Saw someone gave a 1 star review because of strictness which is ridiculous, the rules are in place to protect the health of the animals overall, and to say because kids can't run free it's strict is a little Ludicrous it's not a playground it's a rescue shelter.
