We adopted Willow formally Jane from Let love live a year ago black friday. The organization is excellent. If I had a question in the adoption process it was answered quickly. Willow wasn't a young pup when we got her and you could tell she had been through some stuff still a little afraid of bath time. All and all Let love live is an excellent rescue that cares for the well being of the animals.

I adopted my puppy from Let Love Live and have nothing but positive things to say. She arrived happy, healthy, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, and socialized at 11 weeks. Communication was excellent and her medical records and microchip info were in my inbox before she was even in my arms. She was even automatically subscribed to a dog training app so I can track her growth and progress. We are so happy! Thank you!

Lest anyone think there is any truth to the review left by Alex H, the statements are as incorrect as the spelling and grammar. LLL is a top notch rescue and sanctuary with selfless, compassionate, wise leadership that has saved thousands of animals. I have been lucky enough to volunteer and see this first hand. Please like or leave them a five star review to help the animals and say no to lies and bullying ♥️

I adopted a dog form this shelter last year. Heart warm positive not spay. A month after I adopted her I found out she was to have pups. I called the Shelter to let them know the place I live I could not have pups. They said they would put her back in foster as they said they did not know she was pup do. Vet check didn't reveal that?My stipulation was I wanted a place close to Duluth so I could see her every day or every week end. They sent me a text, we have a mach. A women by the name of Rose. I did not see my dog for six weeks. Every time I would set up a date to see her I would get at the last minute. I have a wedding an two funerals to go to this weekend. My husband is in the hospital. Every time we had a time set she would back out.I called the shelter several times wanting to see my dog. I was told, If she doesn't want you on her property. THAT IS HER RIGHT!! Every time I called. When I did see my dog for the first time in six weeks. She was was so week she could barley walk. She smelled of skunk. Had blood on her nose. I showed pictures to vets that said she was under nourished. They also informed me she needed to be retreated for heart worm and her pups needed to be treated for a year after being born.If you look at the Hart worm guidelines they do not match.I was told my dog should be on preventative threw June. I was never given any preventative threw June. The caller and retractable leash I sent with my dog they could not find, so I was given a leash for a small dog. My dog is a lab. When I adopted my dog she had no separation anxiety. When she came home she is defecting, urinating everywhere.... I can't put her in a kennel for any amount of time because she starts panting, dulling and fights to escape to the point she is bloody. A vet told me she was probley left in a kennel for long periods of time!My dog came home afraid of everything! These people need to be held accountable and so does the foster! To add to this. This Shelter knowing my dog is heartworm positive and medication has not been give to me has never reached out to make things right!Let Love Live!I find it amazing that the owner and his girl live on a ranch in Texas drinking wine and plastic surgery. Freedom burgers? How this shelter is run is apoling. Has the worst reputation in the Wadena area!I will be taking further action. Please ask if the pup you are adopting come from a hartwom positive. Know there pups should be treated for one year after berth

Adopted a senior girl from them! Was a great experience. We love our sweet girl. She needed some tlc but we are knowledgeable about her breed so we will get her all squared away. LLL was a joy to deal with and we'd definitely adopt from them again!

The adoption process took less than 2 days, which I thought was a blessing, but it actually seems as though this shelter cares more about getting the dogs out of there rather than giving them a place they can actually be happy in.My goal was to adopt a dog who would perfectly fit in the lifestyle of a full time student living in an apartment. I blame myself for not doing enough research on his specific breed, but they told me numerous times that the dog I was adopting would be perfect for an apartment and my lifestyle. The dog in question was Apollo, a border collie mix. I realize now that anyone with any sense would not recommend keeping a collie in an apartment, much less the apartment of someone who has to be gone during classes. I asked them a bunch of questions to make sure Apollo would be good in Ana apartment, and they gave me a bunch of answers and reasons, most of which turned out to be false. The adoption process was swift, but as soon as I realized Apollo wasn’t the right fit for my lifestyle, they essentially ghosted me for 4 days while I reached out to them in multiple ways. They reluctantly got back to me and Apollo is now back in the shelter. When I brought him back I told them that it was unfair for them to claim that Apollo was a perfect apartment dog, to which the person literally responded, “oh, so he’s more like a medium-to-high energy dog then.” Which implies that they had a 1-and-a-half year old collie categorized as “low” energy, which makes no sense at all.The dogs seem to be pretty well taken care of, but it doesn’t seem as if the staff actually cares about knowing the dogs’ personalities and needs.

I was interested in adopting a dog described as a three-month old, eight-pound German Shepherd (mix) puppy. I wanted to adopt a small puppy so it can learn to get along with my three cats. I was told the puppy would be transported from Texas to Wadena/Bloomington either the weekend of August 5-6 or August 12-13. I paid the $25 hold fee and was notified that she’d be on the way August 12-13. Then I was notified she wasn’t going to be coming because a mother dog and her pups had priority and they didn’t want any puppies under a certain age on the transport so no one would get sick due to not being vaccinated. I was told she’d be coming the weekend of August 19. This left me enough time to rethink my decision, read the reviews here and on other sites (yikes) and question if the puppy is still a small puppy and if she would actually make it on the transport the next weekend or if she’d be bumped again due to another dog getting priority and then bumped again the NEXT weekend, and on and on. No one could provide much information about the puppy anyway (like how big she is right now versus how she looked in her profile photo) so I decided to pass because I don’t want to risk my cats being tormented by a 25-pound “puppy” that is now set in its ways. I don’t even know if the puppy was actually being fostered or was just left in a cage in some facility in Texas until transportation day.I sort of feel duped like they wanted to get that $25 hold fee (which is actually around $29 with all the extra fees) and maybe the puppy was never even available or they didn’t feel like there was any urgency to deliver her since I was very interested. The person I spoke to said if I paid the hold fee, they remove the dog’s profile from the listings and that never happened so I’m assuming other people were still sending in applications for her...maybe even paying that same hold fee? I’m glad I’m only out $29 though and didn’t end up paying $300 to adopt a dog (plus the extra cost to get spayed and vaccinated) that wouldn’t have worked out or would have possibly harmed the cats. I’m disappointed because I could have given this puppy a wonderful home and life but everything happens for a reason I guess.

So happy! Adopted a beautiful dog & the staff here was amazing. They sent medications with & made sure we had correct care instructions & everything else we need. Great communication throughout the adoption process! Wonderful place that really cares for the animals they rescue! Five star all the way.

We just adopted our puppy from here. All staff was very nice from the minute we inquired about the puppies. They were with you every step of the way from their sanctuary in TX to their Sanctuary in MN. The adoption process was fast & easy. Would adopt from here again!

This shelter isn’t very helpful at all. The dog I got from here was claimed to be “good with other dogs” and yes she was fine with some but she was aggressive towards some. She was dog selective. I brought her back and another lady adopted her. She attacked the lady’s heeler unprovoked. It still says she’s good with all dogs. Which is a lie. Yes they do transport dogs from Texas to Minnesota which is nice but they have no information about the dogs and have no clue about breeds. Yes you should also research the breed before you get the dog but the people helping you adopt the dog should know at LEAST a little about the breed.

Initially I liked this rescue. I filled out a foster form and was approved right away. I was up front with them and said I live on a farm, have other animals here. (I think their main concearn) However I am a dog person. I am familiar with all breeds have done my own training. Whoever I fostered would have 10 acres to play on and be desensitized to farm life/livestock which would be better for them and a adopter long term. I completely understand why they were leary of having me foster dogs, however they said they weren't. I told them I'd be selective of who I'd foster. I had asked about fostering a few dogs from TX who I thought would work. Younger dogs. No response to absolutely anything. Finally they messaged me asking if I could take in a dog in a emergency situation. I had already talked to the family prior and decided it wouldn't work out because we have cats. The family told me the dog was not cat friendly and the LLL staff said otherwise. Second I reached out about fostering another dog. I messaged the Facebook this time, I was told I had to fill out an adoption form, I said no and that I was already an approved foster. Multiple times after that the only contact I had was if they contacted me. Which I felt as if it was because they had run out of other options. I was recently down in Texas and had messaged them two different times about code red dogs (only a approved rescue can tag an out of state dog) I specifically asked about tagging one dog, they asked if I was in Texas then I got no response. (Found out myself dog was tagged by someone else) I was physically at the shelter trying to get a tag for another dog temporarily in my possession that was set to be euthanized anytime, no response either. I have very little faith in this rescue because of my experience. I have tried to do my due diligence to help a or any dog in need even if it meant me adopting the perfect match. Rescues say that they don't have enough fosters, don't have funds, adopters.. etc. When their help is treated like this who wants to help? I saved a beautiful code red dog thanks to another rescue that cared to save her life and adopted another who would have ended up code red. I see other people have had better luck and some have had the same luck, but this is my experience the last 2 years. Trying to save a code red dog and no help from the rescue is why I'm even writing this review.

I had a big interest in working with this rescue team because of their mission. I was interested in a dog. He is year and 6 months old. I paid the $25 dollar.hold fee. I received a text message saying my rescue dog was on his way from Texas. They delivered him.in a very timely fashion. He was a handsome dog. What they said about his personality is spot on. The dog is in very good health given his back story. I believe in this rescue. If you are considering this rescue weather it is a Texas dog. Or rescue foster. I seriously think this is a wonderful experience and rescue. I do wish they would rescue and bring small and lap dog breeds to the Midwest Minnesota area. There is very few small dogs available with a rescue that is extremely easy to work with. THIS RESCUE GETS AN A IN MY BOOK. THANK YOU FOR MY RESCUE DOG!

We adopted Pop Tart (formerly known as Margie) a little over a week ago. It's been such a great experience watching her come out of her shell and seeing her sweet personality show more every day. We had driven to Wadena from Fargo to meet a different dog at a different shelter. . When that fell through I went on LLL website and spotted Margie. Crystal was VERY accommodating on setting up a meeting with Margie's foster mom on very short notice. Although we've only had her a short time, we couldn't love her more! We recently had 2 of our chihuahuas pass, and Margie has really helped our hearts begin to heal. I would give this rescue 20 stars if I could!

Top notch, professional organization. Was looking for a rescue dog and had contact several in the Lakes area. I appreciated that these folks asked enough questions to make sure a dog would be going to a good home but not so many to be intrusive or nosy. Some of the other rescues make the process a hassle and ask questions that don't respect a person's privacy. I've also had experiences with "rescues" that are basically one overwhelmed person at their house. Not here, they're pro. Once I was approved the process was easy and was all done online. Kelli, the adoption/foster coordinator was easy to work with. Our dog was fostered in Brainerd so it was a close drive. No hassle! Got an amazing dog that is a joy. Definitely worth it for those looking for a dog.

Such a wonderful organization that supports animals in need. They do amazing work and taking care of the abused & neglected. I think they are truly doing hard and powerful things to give animals a second chance of finding their forever homes.

Almost 3 months ago, I ran across this organization quite by accident. They had an adult German Shepherd for adoption & his picture & story just spoke to me. Long story short, I contacted Devvie in Texas & she could not have been more accommodating. Arrangements were made to meet their transport van as it traveled from Texas to MN & I met my GSD at the Target parking lot in Monticello. It took all of 5 minutes to fall in love with this boy & we’re both so happy to be together. I know the agency has little to do with the quality of dog they are offering. They’re rescues, after all. But this guy is the easiest, most adaptable rescue I’ve ever had & the process to adopt him was handled beautifully from beginning to end. I’d go through LLL again in a heartbeat. Devvie & I still correspond when I send her updates on Ranger (FKA Hank Williams Jr.) Thank you for this magnificent beast! ❤️

This is a dog rescue shelter that doesn't have any dogs... That would be my only concern. They Foster all the rescued dogs out so there aren't any dogs there. I think if there were dogs there lots of people would be persuaded by their adorableness to adopt them.
