Whooee this is small town down home cooking at its best. Great friendly service. Decor from the 1990s. Which I love and the food is great. I had the cheeseburger basket $7 and Sausage Soup $4. All I will say if Sausage soup is on the menu when you're there order it! Stop you will certainly be back!! Oh and almost forgot..I had a piece of homemade blueberry pie for desert. Yummy!!

Food tasted good, was very cheap, sales tax is included on the menu price which I find pretty nice, has an old fashioned feel to it, and they have large slices of homemade pies for just $3. Overall a great experience and staff was very nice

As a proud Southerner from Alabama and a self-appointed expert on country-fried steak, it was quite a shocking experience to find that some of the best country-fried steak I've ever had ain't from the south, but from Loon's Nest way up in the northern part of MN! What a great place to have breakfast. If y'all ain't about that gravy life, this place might change your mind! Not to mention the Cinnamon Rolls the size of your head! If I could give 10 stars I would.

This is one of those places that you wish every other place was still like. It’s simple food cooked perfectly, and served in a very clean and friendly environment. I own a restaurant, and this place does it right. The service and food were both spectacular. Definitely come here if you’re looking for a great diner in the area!

A great restaurant that's been a mainstay with the locals and popular with the hunting and summer crowds for generations. More of a welcoming 'diner' atmosphere. The staff is down-home friendly and efficient. Good stick-to-your-ribs food and very reasonably priced. Bring cash or check, no credit cards. A pleasant twenty year tradition for me and my daughters, and now my granddaughter. I highly recommend.

I had lunch today with my wife and two granddaughters at the loons nest. They were very busy but the staff handled all the people with great success. My hamburger patty on lettuce was great and my grand-daughters hamburgers and Fries were more than they could eat. Well worth the trip into town!

The Loon's Nest is sure to please if you like down-home, family type restaurants. The portions are generous and the food is hot. It might not be the fanciest place in town, but you won't leave hungry.

Great breakfast at a fair price. I had to wait a little bit to get inside, 5-10 minutes but I have been seeing that in this area now for the last year. My food was made fairly quickly after I ordered.

Passed through town on our way from the cities to McIntosh. We had eaten there before and sure enough it's still opened!! It's even better than ever. Our server was Maddie S. The same last name as ours! Keep up the great work. We'll be back!

Very good service. Food was okay. Burger and fries. Soup was great and homemade. Down side was I believe the cook went into the women's restroom and smoked a cigarette. Big big turn off for my wife and I.

Always been good food ant fantastic service — you may have to wait 10 minutes on Sunday mornings to get a table ——- but once you sit down the hustle starts with orders being taken right away and 1/2 cup of coffee later your order is ready. Just old fashion good service and food

If you want the best and biggest cheeseburger and very fine fries, order to go at the Loon's Nest. It's great food and a great value. Look folks, small Cafe's are fighting a battle right now and need your support.

We have been enjoying this restaurant for years, ever since I was a wee-lad! They consistently serve wonderful food with generous portions, along with friendly and prompt service! What a great little business for the town of Vergas!
