No doubt the fish is great quality. The young lady who was running the place was very friendly and nice. The only reason I didn't give it four stars was I felt while the product was very good it was way overpriced from what I've paid before at other smokehouses. $37 for a pound of smoked peppercorn salmon we purchased. 1 lb of smoked whitefish fillet $18. Six count smoked shrimp $25. Like I said, we enjoyed the food but I can get similar or closer in quality for about a third the price.

Small place but great smoked salmon! Staff was super friendly and helpful. Some cute gift items for sale. Good variety of ice cream if smoked fish isn’t your thing! A fun stop when traveling to Two Harbors.

We stopped in for ice cream today. They carry Cedar Crest ice cream, which is THE BEST. The biggest and best surprise though, was the prices were incredibly reasonable for ice cream in this area. $2.99 for one scoop, $3.99 for 2 and $4.99 for 3. Delicious stop!

The best smoked salmon ever!! We bought the Sugar Smoked Salmon and The Cajun Smoked Salmon. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! We stopped in 10/18/20 The young man working at the counter was super friendly and very helpful ( I didn't catch his name, my fault)!! He also loves his job! Lou's Fish House, you are lucky to have an employee like you have there, he went above and beyond with informing us and helping us with our purchasep!!! We will definitely stop in next time we are in the area!!

Have been to a few very high end sushi restaurants, but this is some of the best smoked salmon I have ever had! (Had too take a bite of the smoked honey glazed salmon.) The atmosphere of the deli is very clean and welcoming. Wonderful service. Am impressed with how well the filet was wraped. Will make a special trip back since out of state. So beautiful up in Two Harbor's and a deli like this make it all the more worth while to make the adventure again!

8-11-20 - Good stop again at Lou’s. Server was super friendly and nice. They were out of trout when we stopped but we were able to get whitefish this stop. We also bought some ice cream and it was very good.8-7-19 - Brought back memories stopping here again. I was bummed they were out of white fish. We were able to sample the trout and salmon and settled for peppercorn trout. The trout was very good and tasted excellent when we ate it with the cheese curds we purchased there as well.

Picked up some smoked fish and shrimp for the picnic table at our final destination and had a lemon bar ice cream cone before continuing north. Conveniently located near castle dragon brewery.

I was delighted to see that Lou's is reopened. In it's first go-'round, I discovered that Lou's ' smoked fish is the closest to my memory of the smoked whitefish made by my great-uncles when I was a 3-yr. old. We go to Grand Portage every year (pandemic excluded) and after buying a fresh supply of wild rice from the tribal rivers we buy smoked fish from Lou's. (Smoked fish and wild rice? My idea of a lunch served in Heaven).

My Vietnamese mother in-law and father in-law absolutely loved the Cajun, Brown Sugar and smoked White fish that I dropped off for them. My mother in-law said; "Mmmm wow that's really good, pick up more next you go"Everyone in my family loved it as well. Thank you for making my stop pleasant, the staff did a great job helping me pick out the smoked fish!I can't wait to visit again to buy some more smoked fish!

I thought that this could have been a thing, it wasn't but it made me do a uturn and check it out. The smoked salmon was amazing and the smoked shrimp was huge. Glad that we stopped. Plus the young lady that was working had a personality and made it fun.

If you like smoked salmon this is the place to go. Also the smoked salmon dip is fantastic. Leave room for ice cream. The best I ever had!

I used to drive over 200 miles to this place once a year with my grandfather before he past. I was terribly disappointed when I came back a couple years and it was closed down. It is now back open again, and I was so delighted to see them back in again! The smoked shrimp are there best! And the rest of the fish and jersey are top notch as well. Brings back such great memories! Thank you lou's! Great stuff!

They have a great variety of good old fashion ice cream and a passion for ice cream. If the owner is working ask her what she has had for breakfast every birthday in the last 15 years. Clearly there is more then ice cream, hence its name, their smoked fish is tried and true and the smoked shrimp sell out before we can hardly get any. Great little place to stop.

My wife and I finally made it up North during the winter. Spent Christmas outside Two Harbors and made Lous a priority to have fresh smoked fish on Christmas Day. Its under new owner ship since we've last been in the area and SO grateful it open. Right along the highway so we make sure to stop whether we are headed to the BWCA or a cabin and again on the way back home. We received a free container of salmon spread and were on the reluctant side as our last experience didn't meet our taste. But this spread is out of this World! LOTS of seasoning so goes great with any of the beers brewed in the area. Can't say enough how I've stopped with new friends and family to watch them enjoy first hand what GOOD smoked fish tastes like.

When I leave here with their smoked fish (especially the Cajun), the biggest problem I have is having to share it with others. Eternally torn between blowing peoples minds with their smoked fish, and selfishly eating it all myself. We always make a stop here when visiting the North Shore, and buy for friends back in the cities as well.Also, the staff is always pleasant and kind. Thank you for everything!!!

I was lucky enough to purchase one Cajun smoked salmon tail. Best tasting smoked fish I've ever had. Unfortunately, the Blizzard the following day kept the store closed, but I'll be back for more next trip there.

Stopped by here on our way home from Grand Marais and WOW!!! Really great smoked fish, maybe the best we've ever had. Smoked salmon, white fish, and even shrimp. The Salmon was REALLY good, I highly recommend!

Great place to stop for some smoked fish! Prices are high. But quality is excellent. So be ready to open your wallet as Lou's is going to make it disappear quickly! I would give Lou's five 🌟 if the prices were just a little more competitive with other businesses around the area. We will be back again. Service was great.

Four of us wanted to buy fresh lake trout but needed more than the 1 prepackaged and less than the 2 together. They didn’t state the weight, only the per pound price of $13. One was priced at $15 and the other at $10. With the tray and plastic wrap, one weighed 1.1 lb and the other at .75. When I questioned these weights and pricing with the plastic wrap and trays, the gal said, that’s how we do it here. Weight WITH packaging??? That seems illegal.
