Quiet spot with other amenities, including a small beach, boathouse, fish cleaning station, fire pit, and playground. Friendly and helpful staff. Family-friendly atmosphere.Cons:Cabins can be a bit small for larger groups. Some things are a bit dated, AC in only one cabin.Overall:I was really impressed with Glenmore Resort after our recent stay. We had stayed there a few years ago and it was not a great experience. Old ownership was terrible and rude. However, the new ownership has really turned things around and the resort is now a great place to stay.The cabins are clean and comfortable, and the location on the lake is awesome. We loved being able to go fishing, swimming, and boating right from our doorstep. And it's so peaceful!!!!Again I have to mention the staff at Glenmore Resort were also very friendly and helpful. They were always willing to go the extra mile to make sure we had a nice time.Our specifics: 4 adults, 2 kids in cabin.We stayed in Cabin 8, which was a 3-bedroom cabin. The cabin was clean and well-maintained, and it had everything we needed for our stay. This one has AC so it was helpful for my son's asthma.The location of the resort is perfect for those who love the outdoors. Lake Vermillion is a great place to fish, swim, and boat. There are also plenty of trails in the area.The amenities at the resort are good. They have a guide service and boats for rent. The fish cleaning station is very convenient. The playground is a great place for kids to play, and there is also a fire pit for roasting marshmallows.Overall, we had a wonderful time at Glenmore Resort and would definitely recommend it to others.

This is my 2nd stay at Glenmore Resort and it never dissapoints! Friendly staff, clean cabins, right on the water. I used Zack from the resort as my guide and he put us on a limit of walleye with ease! Will come back again.

My wife, dog and I just got back from our vacation at Glenmore Resort. We stayed in cabin 3, the Aspen. The cabin was good! Nice cozy place with everything we needed to prepare meals. I was concerned about tying my new boat to the dock overnight, but the wind stayed down in the bay and over did it on the dock bumpers. The boathouse was really nice with electrical hookups, fish cleaning station and fridge with extra bait/snacks. We spent a ton of time on the water and had beautiful weather. The resort had a great location and was really nice to come back to after a long day in the sun.We briefly used the beach and the common grounds of the area were nice. Plenty of privacy if you want it too. The owners were very nice and helpful.The only complaint I had was the boat launch. My trailer scraped backing in and out when the boat was loaded and there was a tight turn between the docks once on the water. I have seen a lot worse.We will be back. Thank you!

Our stay was in the early fall after attending the Tall Ships in Duluth in 2016. I know that this is rather a late posting but I am known for not being prompt nor timely! We arrived actually early and Leroy and Nancy were very accommodating. The cabin was truly a North Woods cabin with a quiet surrounding. Ruger "camp retriever" was a loving Lab who was ready for a pet or for some ball retrieving! Leroy and Nancy were always available for questions and advice. We enjoyed our 2 day stay so very much. A fire in the evening was awesome to experience the friends and family's of the other guests. The smores that were shared by a guest family was very much enjoyed and welcome. An awesome resort to unwind and decompress. We do and always will recommend your beautiful resort to friends and family. Unfortunately after discussing the area with Leroy, we probably won't be staying at your resort very much. We liked the area so much we bought a lake home across the bay and down towards the Pike River. But!! We will recommend your resort to all that ask or need!! So Leroy you sold us on the area and the charm of Lake Vermilion! Looking forward to visiting Leroy and Nancy in the spring!

The new owners have done a very good job of maintaining the quality of the resort. Cabin is clean and well furnished. Lake Vermilion is a beautiful lake to fish on and just to cruise around and enjoy the scenery. We would definitely return without any concerns.

My brothers , nephew, and I had a great stay in The Hunters Lodge for opening deer hunting season 2016. Nice cozy cabin overlooking Lake Vermillion with all the amenities one would need. We will definitely be up there to stay next deer hunting season and possibly stay there to do some fishing this summer. Hospitality was great and was a pleasure to meet you Leroy, you're a good man. Take Care and we'll see ya soon again !

Cabin was not what we expected! Doors would not shut properly let alone lock! Water smelled so bad we had to go buy water even for coffee, couldn't even think about a shower! Furnace was ancient-so load and on the wall of one bedroom, made sleep impossible! No heat in bedrooms, no pillow cases on one bed. Told all we needed to bring were towels, not a problem but sure would have been nice to have salt n pepper in kitchen. Snowmobiling was great however. Apparently it has just been sold, new owners have lots of work to do.Feb. 2-4, 2018

This place was perfect for a guy’s golf/boating weekend. The owners and staff were very friendly. Cabins worked great .... fridges kept the drinks real frosty, great bonfire set up.

I've stayed with the Forstrom's many times, they're basically family to me now. Beautiful location, great service, all in God's country. What could be better? I'll continue to visit them year after year. I would encourage everyone to check them out. Oh, and did I mention the Glenmore is dog friendly? Yipper, Ruger will love you and your puppy all up...

Ugh, this was the worst possible interpretation of a luxury resort. We arrived on a busy Friday evening and thought the grounds looked nice, and the cabins were ok from the outside. The cabin we were assigned had parking behind and up a little hill, and so I schlepped as much as possible in the first load only to find we were NOT going to stay there. The place smelled like gasoline or Goo-Gone and I could feel the brain cells dying, so we opened a few windows and looked around. This place needs a major face lift, the wooden towel rack in the bathroom was moldy, the kitchen was worn out, flooring needed replacement last year, even the door threshhold was broken.Oh, and that nice perk of a "free" boat with each cottage? Well the motor costs $40 a day or something like that. lol

So far so good kids love the dog dog loves the kids. Fishing is good if u know where to look the mine tour was a blast! Lots of good ppl up here recommend it for the family vacation
