I emailed the store manager a week ago with zero response so I will share here for others to be aware. I expected more trying to support a smaller locally owned business vs a big box store.Whoever was working the front of your store on Saturday afternoon 2/3/24 should be fired. I understand finding help is hard these days but you would be better off without them given my experience. I needed a Manchester 5 lb propane tank, this specific brand is needed to work with my older Weber performer grill. Online it shows your store has it in stock, I live in Fridley so I called before I drove all the way out there. I am pretty sure whoever was working the front of your store is who I spoke with on the phone. I very specifically asked him if your store had that brand and size tank in stock and he responded with oh yea we got those. Upon arriving he was standing at the front and I was greeted with a blank stare. I wandered around the store and asked him about what I was looking for. He radioed someone and sent me outside to look for the tank. I couldn’t find anything but encountered another employee and asked them, he led me inside and showed me a Flame King tank but I mentioned I needed Manchester brand. He looked on computer and said your store had nothing. I explained I had called to confirm you had the item before I drove from Fridley. He just said sorry about that. I left the store and ended up driving to a Tractor Supply in Inver Grove Heights for my tank. I was extremely frustrated and wanted to make you aware of my experience. Thank you for your time.

Was recommended to go here to get keys cut for my Toyota. They do excellent work at a super duper fair price. They also sell the chip keys, but you may be better off getting those online at the same place where you rent a programmer, since the chip has to be programmed to allow the key to start the car.This Ace has an enormous selection of screws, bolts, n special hardware. I needed two special screws for kitchen cabinets - Menards had a whole box, which I did not want to pay for just to have it sit around collecting dust. Ace had just what I needed, and I only bought the number that I needed.

I had purchased an Ego Mower, Weed Whacker, and Chainsaw. I ended up not using, or needing the chainsaw so I was going to trade in a $200 piece of unused equipment and probably buy a $2000 snowblower, but they wouldn't let me. No returns on power equipment, which I didn't realize before I started my Ego crossover. I was going to do it all from there, but not anymore. When I told the "manager" I guess I'll have to use Amazon to get all my Ego gear he said "Fine with me".

Your hours on Google say open til 8 pm but I got in my car and drove to your store at 715 pm and you are closed. It's very frustrating, please post accurate hours.

My go to place for charcoal and bbq sauce and rubs, they have a great selection and good prices. And of course they are always friendly.Update: dropping 2 stars as I have called multiple times in 2 days and no one picks up the phone. I live in st paul, trying to verify the have items in stock before I drive all the way out there, hard to verify when no one answers the phone.

Great store. They care for their customers and treat them like family. I recently purchased a Stihl chainsaw and after 2 uses discovered a defective part. I called them, explained my issue, they assured me they would handle it. Before I even had time to bring it in they called me with a solution. When I did bring the saw in they fixed it in a matter of minutes and had me back up and running. A fine example of customer service as it is intended to be! Dave and Sam are exceptional. Highly recommend!

I needed help with some grilling sheets. No one working knew what I was talking about. Pulled up on my phone for staff but still no help. I asked of they had a "as seen on tv section" again they did not know what I was asking. I bought a gallon on stain, brush etc. The staff told me it could clean up with water. I got home and had to make another trip back. I didn't have my glasses the first time and no one could read the can and tell me what I needed to clean up the brushes. First trip I spent 183 and had to come back to clean up the brushes. I didn't get help the second time either. I finally pulled one of the cans off the shelf. Took it to where there was some good light and read a long amount of information before the final statement was clean with mineral spirits. Still staff was not very helpful even when I told them what I needed. My son lives in Stillwater and we came there because we needed helping advice but got none.

I love the variety of tools...I personally love this place. The only downfall is that their prices are a bit higher than other hardware stores, but the quality is good.. It's a smaller store with all the handy things you may need.... ie: tools, birdseed, paint key making and key copying. Check it out.

Amazing customer service and friendly/helpful staff. The nicest young man helped me with loading all my mulch into my truck. He was polite and very nice. Wish I would have gotten his name so he could be recognized for being so helpful. Much much better than my experience at Lowes. Keep up the good work Ace Hardware!!!

Ordered a key($166.73) from them and was told it would take a week. Three weeks later, no key and was told the key was out of stock and they had no idea when they could fill my order! Ask for a refund but was told they had no record of the sale and no refund was possible without a receipt! Luckily, I found my receipt and they reluctantly gave me a refund! I will not be back!!

Huge disappointment! I needed a chainsaw chain for a Ryobi. I was told the Stihl brand they have would fit. It did not. I brought it back. The male sales rep informed me the chain was rusty. I just bought it and never used it. No, it wasn't rusty. Was told I could not return it. WOMEN BEWARE! The male sales rep would never have spoken to a man like he did me. I was treated like a dumb female. That chain was brand new. Not used and no rust on it. In-store credit would have been a compromise. I ended up ordering a chain on Amazon that fit perfectly for 1/2 the price. I will never go to Ace Hardware again and would recommend for women to take caution on how they are treated by male staff.

Stillwater Ace came through when things went awry. After recently buying a Stihl pole-chainsaw and discovering it didn't work, Stillwater Ace Hardware's customer service made good in fixing the issue with professionalism and care. Thank you, Dave.And they did this all when I was going through a personally difficult time. I will definitely shop here again based on this service. (Although I'll think twice when getting a Stihl battery-powered tool—there is NO way it should have broken like that.)

I've spent several thousand dollars at this Ace, but not anymore after the experience I just had. I spoke with a manager about a price adjustment about an item that went on sale 10 days after I purchased it, which according to their website they will honor price changes within 30 days. The "manager" lied to me about the return policy, then tried to say it was purchased through a different store, then lied about the office manager needing to approve it, then after admitting all of that tried to send me to an 800# to process the adjustment knowing full well the sell ends today and that it won't work out. On top of that, he was a total jerk the whole time talking to him. If anything goes wrong with anything you purchase from this location, good luck having them do anything about it.

Even though the store did not have the spark plug I was looking for I had 3 emplyees checking apps and store racks for the correct replacement in another brand. They gave me 3 options of other stores to purchase the one I needed. I thought that was great customer service!

We absolutely love having a local hardware store and sometimes I feel like I take this for granted. Today I needed a sprinkler and I got great advice not only from the person on the floor, but also from the cashier. They recommended a sprinkler and it is so above and beyond what I would have picked. I am just so glad to have this little store and grateful for the people in the store.

Went for an online pickup today. It was ready promptly and I ended up buying some plants while there too. Gentleman who checked me out grabbed the rest of the items and brought them to my car without me having to ask. Great customer service. Clean store. Thanks again.

My roommate and I went in to get a new key. The guys working in service acted as if they didn’t know what they were doing, cut the key wrong, killed my battery and messed up the lock system for all of my doors. We had to sit outside in the rain for over an hour and we didn’t get what needed to get done. In fact we left with more issues that what I came in with. Now i have to crawl through my back seat door in order to lock my car. I will not be returning, and I wouldn’t recommend anyone else get anything done from their service desk.

Great local place to get what you need for your next home project. Every time we have stopped in here, they are always very helpful and have what we need. We used their high end paint kinda by accident (we usually use another brand, but they had a REALLY GREAT paint sale) we won't use ANY OTHER paint now. We couldn't believe how great the paint applied & looked after.

I love this store! Ace Hardware offers so many services at one place that's wonderfully convenient! Helpful, friendly, knowledgeable staff always around to assist. Polite, too. The store has a good quality variety of products which is part of the convenience of shopping there. Definitely a place to go to!

Jenni, these small retailers do not have the capacity to discount prices the way bigger stores do. They barely make a living the way it is. What they do offer you is knowledge that they freely give out to any inquiring person with a need, the average worker at the big box stores can not help you that way. They can tell you what isle something is in, but usually that's it. I would encourage you to continue keep patronizing that store, mostly because your shopping local that way

Unfriendly staff, wrong price on item which the boss grudgingly allowed us to pay the actual price (seriously, two signs, two prices, same item) and the clerk wouldn't take the Premier Ace Reward certificate.. Ace is generally a good place with helpful staff. This isn't one of them.
