I purchased a mini golden doodle from Puppies up north about 2 years ago. They went COMPLETELY above and beyond with my situation. I live in Denver and they are based in Minnesota. They drove to South Dakota to meet me for a safe and secure delivery. They even brought straw flooring from their place of business that our puppy was used to to help him transition and food he’s been on and treats too! He has been a tremendous addition to our family for 2 years now. I highly recommend!!!! ⭐️

We had a wonderful experience working with Pamela from Puppies up North. We received our biggest bundle of joy, our F1b mini-golden doodle, Nico! He came to us knowing his name, potty trained, happy and full of love at 8 weeks old. We could not recommend Puppies up North enough!

Noah is coming up on his 3rd birthday next month and has been an absolute joy! He is a healthy, happy youngster and because he's a Cavapoo, he loves BIG! I appreciate the care he received at his first home, Puppies Up North. When I picked him up in 2021 I could tell it was difficult for the breeder to say goodbye, which told me a lot. Thank you for Noah!

We got our Goldendoodle Bear on Christmas Eve, and could not of asked for a better experience! Pamela has had great communication since day one! She’s very informative, knowledgeable, and takes the adoption process very seriously to ensure puppies are placed in great homes! Any questions I’ve had throughout the adoption process, Pamela has answered all of them quickly, and continues to answer any question I might have even after we brought our puppy home. Bear has been such a wonderful addition to our family! He’s a very happy, and healthy puppy, and we could not be happier with our experience with Puppies Up North! Highly recommend Puppies Up North to anyone who is looking to adopt a puppy. Thank you Pamela, and Mike for all of your help and allowing us to adopt Bear he is the best!

We got our mini doodle from Pam. She is an absolute delight. Not only is she adorable but she is such a well behaved, fun and healthy girl. It’s almost her third birthday! We are so happy to have her in our family!

My husband and I purchased our first dog from PuppiesUpNorth in 2022. He is the perfect addition to our family and treated like our little baby! Puppies Up North was not a problem to work with, they just have a couple of rules to follow along with adoption. We had no problem adhering to them because we know it’s because they really care about the puppies and want to make sure they are going to good homes. The only thing I would change if we could is I would’ve loved to meet our dog’s parents, but we did not get to go to the actual home of the puppies and had to meet somewhere else. Not a big deal, but just would’ve been fun to have met his “family.” Puppies Up North was great about having all of the dog’s paperwork together and a cute basket to send him home with! The photo updates on their website are a great bonus, too.Our dog, Buck, isn’t perfect all around, he has drooling car anxiety and smelly ears sometimes, but we DO NOT blame his personality and quirks on the breeders. I wouldn’t credit them with his cuddly personality and his agility, as I would not blame them for his personal issues. Same as people, we’re all different, can’t blame everything on where they came from! Just something to keep in mind regarding the negative comments. Overall, we’d love to purchase another dog from Puppies Up North in the future and we’d recommend our Mini Golden Cockerdoodle to anyone!

Do not buy from this woman. She does not care about the dogs she cares about the money. My dog was very sick when I picked him up and needed a lot of vet care. Now, Buddy is happy and healthy thanks to me. Zero stars is more like it!

We adopted our precious Cooper during the pandemic so we were not able to meet him prior. Puppies Up North made it easy to see (via online) the puppies and watch them grow until the day we could take him home. It was love at first sight! He's a huge part of our family, loves everyone and thinks every dog is his best friend. Thank you Pamela for making the process easy and professional. We were given lots of information on at home care.Mark and KathyT-shirt size S

From start to finish it was a wonderful experience working with Puppies Up North. We love our dog who we named Poppy! You can tell they care for their animals and want the best for them. They explained everything to us, and were always quick to respond if we had any questions. We love our puppy Poppy!

My first experience with Puppies Up North was in 2016. I found her website and filled out an application. I was surprised at how much information she needed/wanted but she does this to ensure that the puppies adopted go to a good home. We drove to their home where they are raised and got to choose our puppy in person. Actually, I think she (our puppy)chose us! From the website, we had chosen a few puppies to meet in person and then decided after we met. Our mini Labradoodle was ready to come home with us in January 2017. They met us in Detroit Lakes. This cut our trip in half which was much appreciated. She adjusted well and is a very loving dog! So much so that we decided we needed another puppy from Puppies Up North. The second time around, I couldn’t decide from the pictures posted on the website which one I wanted so her husband met me at the Dairy Queen in Staples with my three choices so I could meet them and go home with my first choice. She is a mini golden doodle. When I brought her home, her and my Labradoodle bonded right away. They got along so well that I was constantly going to the Puppies Up North website and considering a third puppy. Call me crazy, but I now have three beautiful puppies from Puppies Up North! I got another mini golden doodle in July 2022. All of my girls are so affectionate and just LOVE everyone they meet! I feel that Pamela is very knowledgeable and willing to answer any questions you may have before, during and after the adoption process. I truly believe that these puppies are raised just like children with lots of love and affection. I wouldn’t have gotten three puppies from the same breeder if I didn’t think this were true.

We’ve had our little Labradoodle from Puppies Up North for a number of years now. We knew something was wrong initially when—in the first week arriving home—she had multiple infections and worms. Despite spending nearly $1,000 to get her back healthy, she really struggled with socialization in our household and at various puppy classes. The only support the breeder provider was to become incredibly argumentative and defensive when communicating these issues by continuing to tell us that she would take the puppy back. There was no way we were taking this poor puppy back to the breeder, however. I would heed the advice of many negative reviews and proceed with caution with this breeder. I was actually surprised that they are still in business.

I highly recommend Puppies Up North! We met halfway and got my little, Moose, a miniature labradoodle. They went above and beyond to “pre-train” and even provided a little welcome pack. Easy to work with, very responsive and truly care for the puppies as they place them with good families. We will be back!

I will not go into great detail because our experience was so traumatic and drawn out, but it truly was one of the worst experiences of my life purchasing a puppy from Puppies Up North. Please spare yourself and all the potential heartache and find someone who is reputable, trustworthy, and respectful. I do not wish what we went through upon anyone. I wouldn’t have even written a review because it was over a year ago, but so many people I have talked with about our experience encouraged us to write an honest review to help others not have to go through what we went through. Our puppy was extremely dirty, smelly, and had a double ear infection when we received her. We eventually had to return the puppy because of severe dog danger allergies which was spoken about before we purchased the puppy. Needless to say, this dog was not “hypoallergenic” enough. We returned the puppy as the contract stated if we cannot take care of the puppy, we must return it. Even though it was stated from Pamela we would get our money back, when it was time to drop the puppy off we were absolutely crushed. We were handed a paper we didn’t read as she stated ahead of time it was just relinquishing the adoption contract. A few hours later we saw she also added that we would NOT get our money back even though I had it in writing she would return our money and if we leave a “bad” online review she would take out the amount of the puppy ($2000.00+) from the card we had on file with her, which both our lawyer and bank said was illegal. I attempted calling and texting and she returned my texts the next day and was extremely disrespectful to me. She even told me “don’t get snotty with me” when I said we were getting our lawyer involved. She stated the My Sanford Chart screenshot of our son’s allergy history was “not good enough” even though our doctor was on leave. That transparency would have nice to know two days prior so I could have reached out to our other specialists for an actual letter. I had sent no more than four texts my last one stating I would be speaking with our lawyer and two phone calls/one voice message and she then called the police on me making it appear I was harassing her. It was so messed up. I did file for small claims court, but our money was returned a few days later. It was absolutely horrible for me and I am so so sorry for anyone else who has had to go through this, too. It appears Pamela comments on almost every negative review to deflect or defend her behavior, but please know these experiences are absolutely true, unfortunately.

Four years later - we just love our “puppy”!! She has been extremely healthy, loving, and now very patient with our almost 2-year-old son. If we need a puppy again in the future, Puppies Up North will be our first stop!

If only there were zero stars…horrible experience with puppies up north. We tried to get 2 different puppies - both of which were very sick and needed surgery and/or other intensive care (which we found out the day before we were supposed to travel to pick them up). Pamela was very unkind and pushy towards us. Please, please, please find your puppies elsewhere and save yourself the heartache, stress, and disappointment that we went through.

We first got introduced to Puppies up North in 2016 (6 years ago). We were new to wanting to adopt a new fur baby. We knew nothing about owning a dog other than it was going to be a lot of work. I called around to a few different breeders then came across Puppies Up North. Pamela was extremely informative, responsive, and honest. She not only told us what to expect the first year of the puppies life but informed us of what kind of obstacles we would have to overcome with the new addition to our home. Everything that Pamela taught us was backed up by our vet. We have had our Teddy for the last 5 years and he’s been an amazing addition to our family. So much so, we had other members of our extended family and multiple friends purchase their dogs from Puppies up North.Fast forward to current day. We have been thinking of getting a playmate for Teddy and when it came time to pull the trigger, we didn’t hesitate to reach out to Puppies up North again. This time around was much easier given the experiences we went through with Teddy, but Pamela was still extremely informative about what to expect bringing puppy #2 into our home. There will be different obstacles to overcome but knowing the care and attention these puppies receive from the team at Puppies up North, we are certain this is going to be a great experience. If you are interested in adding to your family with a fur baby, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Pamela and ask for my information. I’d be happy to talk with anyone about the great group at Puppies up North.

Please disregard all the negative reviews about this breeder. They are incorrect and opposite what we experienced. We have adopted two puppers from Pamela and Mike. We texted and called constantly during the first few weeks we had our first puppy, Odin and Pamela responded right away. It was like she never forgot and those puppies were still loved and valued by her. Our second puppy we wanted the same breed (spoodle) but unfortunately, the only pup born in that litter was stillborn. Pamela worked with us to adopt a mini labradoodle instead and it was truly meant to be. We couldn’t picture our life without Logan. She educated us on the difference in breeds and how to best meet Logan’s needs. She had him in her arms snuggled up when we got him and he came home confident and happy. Our first dog did too. They were house trained completely in a week, which is very quick and mostly they just needed to learn what to do in their new house. My mom and dad also adopted a pup from Puppies Up North and she is a spicy but sweet Havanese and has brought such joy to our whole family. In fact when my mom reached out Pamela remembered us and our dogs and asked for pictures. Most breeders wouldn’t do that but these dogs and puppies are their pride and joy.Pamela and Mike, it’s been about 6 years since we last spoke but we constantly think of you two and are grateful to you. I hope you can ignore these untrue reviews and know you are doing good for families and ultimately your dogs and puppies.

We adopted our Rosie (spoodle) from Puppies Up North and have had the greatest experience. Right from day 1 Rosie is the most loving little pup and fits in so well with our family. I can tell that she had been treated well at the Puppies Up North facility. Pamela has been great to email updates while we were waiting for our adoption day, she stays in touch to answer questions and checks in to make sure the transition goes smoothly. Would definitely recommend Puppies Up North to anyone looking to adopt a wonderful pup into their home.

The owner is not honest. As other reviewers have noticed, I believe she wants to keep the deposits and sell the dog to someone else. If you question anything about the contract or the pup, she instantly threatens to keep the dog and the deposit. Her personality literally turns on a dime in the conversation and she paints you into a corner. It’s an uncomfortable situation to be in, and unfair to the consumer. Our dog has been good, healthy and sweet; but this transaction was awful and left us with a very bad taste. I’ve purchased pups from other breeders who are kind and generous to work with. This is not the experience you will get here after you’ve paid your deposit. The owner is just mean-hearted, but it doesn’t come out until she has some of your money.

About a month ago, we called about a mini golden doodle we saw on the "puppies up north" web site. I called and talked with the breeder extensively about the puppy we saw and our situation. We have had many dogs over our life and have been involved with a rescue group, so we wanted to make certain this adoption was going to be right for us. All of our other dogs have been rescues. We decided to adopt the puppy we saw, and drove 5 hours to pick her up. She was beautiful! She went right to me, and when we took off, she was perfect on the trip home. She met our other dogs, and they have all adjusted to each other. She is so smart and curious about everything we do that she almost is training herself. She has adjusted to us with no problems. She eats perfectly, takes naps and sleeps in her crate. She loves playing outdoors. She was perfect at her vet appointment and at her grooming. She already knows some basic commands. She is a beautiful doodle with such expressive eyes. She understands what we tell her and every day we see how much she is learning and what a wonderful dog she is becoming. The entire process went so well. If we didn't already have three other fur babies, we would be back to adopt another. We have, as our vet would say, a "keeper!" Thank you "puppies up north" for working with us in the adoption of our "Maisie" (born in May)! We love her to pieces and she is already becoming a great dog in our family.Carol Flower

We had an extremely pleasant experience with puppies up north! We were initially a little nervous after seeing some of the reviews, but there are two sides to every story, and I recommend talking to Pamela about any that concern you.As far as our experience goes, it was quite the contrary. Pamela and Mike are very sweet people, and clearly care a lot about these pups! They are so thorough, and give very detailed instructions on what to do when you get your dog. Hand holding in a good way to make sure the dog adjusts. They also really care about the dogs going to good homes, hence the whole process. I recommend adopting from them, because above all, they care a lot. 5/5

Several years ago I received a puppy from Puppies Ip North. My Izzy has been such a nice dog, super friendly and healthy. When searching for a puppy it’s important to know that the breeder really has treated the mom and puppies with utmost care. It is obvious this has happened with Puppies Up North. When Izzy came to our house she was immediately social and calm. No jumping and attention seeking. She had good eating habits and got along well with our other two dogs.We found Puppies Up North to be very professional and understood a lot about puppy/dog behavior. I have consulted with her often even though it has been a couple years since we got Izzy.I would recommend a puppy from Puppies Up North to anyone looking for an addition to their family. Their puppies will love you and you will wonder how you ever lived without them!

Just a reminder for those of you considering entering a contract with Pamela, DONT! The reason she sets such strict contract terms is the hope that you will break the contract so she can keep you deposit! Then she has another puppy and your deposit. Read my experience below and be warned!!!My wife and I decided to get a puppy for our family for christmas. We asked a friend where they got their puppy and they said Puppies Up North. So we made a call and began the process of purchasing a puppy from Puppies Up North. Unfortunately I did not do more research. Because Pamela has a history of keeping deposits even when she sells the puppy to someone else. Pamela was nice as can be in the early stages of the process. Once we paid the deposit it was radio silence. Since we had a couple of questions about being a new dog family we tried to contact Pamela by text, as many people do now days. Apparently Pamela is not a fan of this method of communication. Long story short she did not provide us with any acceptable level of customer service. We asked her for a refund and she agreed (I recorded the phone call, so don't believe her story. If you really want to hear it contact me.) In the end she refused to refund our $750 deposit. And she ultimately sold the puppy to another family. From the reviews I have read since our experience, it appears keeping people's deposits is a money maker for her. I would NOT recommend Puppies Up North. In my business we strive to provide the best customer service possible. If the customer is dissatisfied we refund their deposit and sell the product to another customer and try to improve on our customer experience. Pamela does not believe in this! I would not give Pamela a deposit on a puppy unless you are willing to lose your deposit. We have spoken to other customers of Puppies Up North who have had a similar experience. Hopefully you will not be the next. There are better options out there. Do your research! I hope Pamela loses many puppy sales for the $750 I feel she stole from my family.

Pamela is very upfront about everything. She can seem harsh in her interactions, but that is only because she is laser focused on her puppies. Maybe she’s eccentric, but that’s exactly the loving type of person you want to take care of your newborn pup. I’ve had my dog 6 months now and he’s been amazingly social, loving, loyal, and healthy. He was clearly socialized amazingly as a puppy.I can’t speak to the other reviews, but Pamela has responded to all of my questions about caring for the pup and been helpful. Wait your turn for photos of the dog and she will take care of you.Best dog I’ve ever met and I’m so excited to have this spoodle for years to come as I raise my family.

We purchased an F1B cockapoo from Puppies Up North and had the best experience with Pamela and brought home the most AMAZING PUPPY. She was the kindest, most gentle, loving little girl and was darling as well. She loved kids and all dogs and was so playful. Everyone who met Gracie just loved her. Our sweet pup passed unexpectedly in an accident and we were so sad to say goodbye. When I contacted Pamela to let her know, she spent an hour on the phone with me at 11 pm and was so kind and sad for our family. She has had numerous conversations with me over the past few days as we work with her to identify the next puppy that we will bring into our family. I cannot thank Pamela and her family enough for giving us the most perfect puppy the first time and for her patience as we work through the tough decision of which puppy is right for our family. Thank you for everything!

Pamela and Mike having been nothing but helpful to us as resources in our small breeding program through the years. They have counseled us when we had questions. They have provided numerous answers to late night calls, particularly when we took on a surrogate litter to save the puppies when their mama wasn't expected to make it through the night. She and Mike have driven us supplies, syringes, formula replacer or whatever we needed with no questions asked, simply because they care. They care for the dogs and they care about the people taking care of the dogs too. :)I have been to their place and it shows that they love their dogs. Nice big area for them to run and exercise, clean pens and kennels. They often take them to the pond to swim in the summer!Breeders like Pamela aren't in this for the money but because they enjoy what they do. Breeding is not for the faint of heart. Many days are tough, there are losses and lost sleep and then there are great days too.I always feel better after I talk with them. They have much insite to share from the classes they have taken as well as their own personal knowledge. They have a very organized system and somehow keep track of it all and make it look effortless. Thank you Puppies Up North!

Our puppy is absolutely amazing! He was loved immensely for his first 8 weeks by his momma and humans. Our vet compliments how healthy and wonderful he is. I give all credit to the breeder. He slept great at night from day 1. Never a potty accident in his area to this day. He doesn't vomit or have diarrhea. Just a healthy happy puppy dog. Social with other dogs and people. He knew his name that we gave him. He sits for treats from day 1. So cute. So so so cute. Great personality. Bonded well with us. Puppies Up North has great breeding lines. Everything you want in a perfect new puppy. Also everything you want in a breeder. So much great information in the puppy packet, especially shopping list and first days checklist. This is our first family pet so we needed the information. We got pictures 3 times while waiting. (It's so hard to wait but just be patient while they care for your pup and its Momma.) Seamless COVID safe pickup. Generous gift basket with food, treats, toys... Even a blanket that smells like momma!Anyone who is complaining or giving a low review-- consider that a reflection on the reviewer, not Puppies Up North! They have lots of dogs, but are not a puppy mill AT ALL. Some folks just really love dogs and are able to make it their business... They are professionals and it shows. They love them, care for them, treat them well. Happy and loved dog mommas make for good puppies. Maybe we lucked out, but our pup is perfect. We love him so much. Worth every penny. Highly recommended.Read the info, Do what Pamela says, she knows what she's talking about. Thank you Pamela.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out something is very wrong with this place. I changed my name so she couldn't go back through her emails to figure out who I am because she has a tendency to do that. I emailed because I was going to get a puppy but quickly changed my mind after looking online. First of all, labradoodles for 2900 seems a little steep for a pretty disliked "breeder". And then to fake put them on sale for $1000 to get people to buy them. I've never seen anything like it. Obviously there are plenty of bad reviews out there and I have no doubt some of the good ones are fake if you look closely at how they are worded and just praising Pamela and not the place in general. It was easy for me to find a fantastic breeder with 4.9 star rating for a great puppy for only 300 dollars more. Which for a healthy puppy and a great place I actually want to support I think is a much better option. I encourage people to read other reviews and look at the very unprofessional website to determine for themselves how off this all seems. There are so many better places that want to get to know you and have you come visit them and see the puppies and are all healthy. It is disappointing to see a place like this trying to just turn a profit instead of caring for the puppies.
