my first and LAST time...website showed a cz 75 compact for 519.00...i decided that was a good price and drove 2 hours to do business with them..well guess what..gun was listed at 749.00.i showed the guy the website price and he said sorry must have been a mistake ..well i wont make the mistake of buying anything from mel's in the future..you could of had a good customer

Sadly, today we experienced the horrible attitude of employees working the upstairs area. I have been visiting the Spicer area for the past 50+ years and have never been treated as we were today. There was zero attempt at being respectful or kind. We will not be back.

I purchased a firearm online from these guys, and could not have been happier with the experience. Two particular staff members, I won’t say their names, not sure if they would want me to, went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with my purchase. I’ve bought firearms both online, and in person, and have yet to experience the level of patience/customer service that I did from these guys. Will definitely be a return customer.

Stopped at Mel’s today bought a $90 bait cooler and two dozen minnows and there might be 24 minnows in my pale if I’m lucky. You would think after paying $90 for a bait bucket you would get at least 13 minnows in a dozen not there.

This place is stocked with everything you need for a great fishing experience. Rods, live bait, hooks, lures, plastic swim baits, they have it all!! Nice selection of cold drinks and snacks as well. This is a 1 Stop Shop!!

Stumbled on to this place on my way to South Dakota. Glad I did. I couldn't find #6 shotgun shells anywhere but they had a good selection and I was able to stock up. Looked like they had a great selection of just about anything you would need to go hunting/fishing. They are also attached to a beer/liquor store and gas station with convenience store. Mel's will be a regular stop for us on our trips out west from now on.

The person that helped me and my wife get our joint resident fishing license was great. The system had him call the DNR for some clarifications. It took some time but I was impressed how he stuck with it and worked with the DNR so that we got our License. Great Service.

Great place. The employees are very knowledgeable and very helpful. You can ask dumb questions and they don't look at you funny. Guns and ammo are priced well. Very big selection. Highly recommend.

Great service and customer satisfaction on sales! We bought a new fishing rod and reel that unfortunately malfunctioning of gears in reel on first time out and they happily replaced with a higher priced set with no hassle! Thank you so very much!! We will be back by every time we are local!

Used to be a good place to shop. Ever since the new owner took over he has been price gouging. Seems staff training is non existent. And the so called manager in the firearms Dept all I can do is laugh. It’s a shame to see once a great place go to hell by a investment driven owner.

People from the gas station need to fallow you around and harass you about assistance to buy stuff.I had never been to the town or the store before and had heard very good things about the sporting good store in the tackle there but my first experience inside makes me never wanna go back when people are that rude I just can’t handle it I will never spend a dime in that store

The service, inventory and general ambiance of Mel's is awesome! I love visiting - I always find a new treasure. They have one of the best gun and gun accessories assortments I have seen and the employees are helpful, friendly and know their stuff. The store itself is very cool with log railings and accents, and they stock a great variety of clothing, hunting, fishing and recreational gear, garden and home decor, shoes, boot and sandals, and kid water safety equipment as well as water games and toys. A must stop when you're anywhere near the area.

Great place for all of your outdoor needs. If you need a propane tank filled they can take care of you. Maybe you need a new fishing pole, net, tackle or bait, if so they have that too. They have a variety of hunting gear for all hunting seasons and even gear for fun at the lake. Mel's Sport Shop has it all. Definatly will shop here again and recommend it to area sportsmen/women.

Love the new layout. Everyone in the firearm section is extremely knowledgeable, and the entire staff is considerate. Weather its gas, guns, booze, or equipment I recommend shopping at this local business.

Besides the gas station, convenience store, and bait/tackle shop, there is a really nice sporting goods store. It is just recently stocked with summer stuffIf you visit Spicer, Mel's is a place you will not want to miss.

I didn't get the guys name but the staff was friendly, helped me find my ammo, got me a box for my purchase, helped me purchase the correct ammo as this was my first fire arm. Will definitely return.

Mel shop was very helpful, " always constantly asking us if we needed anything, again can I help you find anything. Again asking if we're looking for anything in particular. SO I DONT KNOW IF THEY WAS BEING HELPFUL OR WATCHING US IF WE WAS TRYING TO STEAL SOMETHING BECAUSE WE LOOK DIFFERENT IN COLOR.
