One of the best campsites I have ever stayed at! The staff were extremely accommodating and kind, especially for my last minute booking. The spot was quiet and absolutely beautiful! It was also inexpensive for such a pretty campsite, right on a lake, had ice cream, and was relatively near several gorgeous areas around Lake Superior to explore. I will definitely come back if I need a camping spot in this area again. Could not be happier with how my weekend turned out here!

We loved the peaceful environment, wildlife, cozy feel, and ice cream! Owners were extremely accommodating to our last minute switch to a larger camper. The bathrooms were very clean. Easy drive to many state parks/other tourist attractions.

Camping at Lax Lake is always a relaxing and pleasurable experience. The owners are amazing and the site beautiful. Whether one is wanting to rest and get back in tune with nature, boat, canoe, fish or be halfway between everything the North Shore has to offer, Lax Lake Resort is a great destination. The pet free resort has camping, cabins and all the facilities for a comfortable stay! We've stayed multiple times and will be back again.

Updated- we stopped in today 9/3/23- they are still open but the phone does still ring and ring! We booked the WRONG weekend, meant for the 29-30- can we switch!?? Can you please call me!? I’ve called and called- just rings! Thank you!We love this resort. The views are awesome, the management is so kind, the facilities are clean. We usually bring our Pop Up. I am not sure it is open any longer tho? No one answers the phone and they have no email to contact. Sad! We were trying to book again! Hopefully someone can get back to us or answer the phone?

This is the perfect place for your vacation! I don't normally write reviews but this place was amazing! The campground was extremely clean as well as the showers and bathrooms. The owners and staff are incredible as well, they were very accommodating and kind! The location is also perfect to get away for awhile, while being close enough for all the main attractions on the north shore. The campground was quiet and peaceful, and the rentals for lake fun were very reasonably priced. I can't wait to come back!

We had such a great time at this cozy campground! Really great alternative to camping on N Shore! Less than 15min drive to shore. Lake is really clean and beautiful! They have cabins and nice sized camp sites. Nice facilities and swimming area. Plus Ice Cream and boat rentals on site.

We are so impressed with our stay. We booked a site at another campground that when we arrived, we didn’t even get out of the car. We drove around trying to find somewhere else to stay and everything else was reserved.Defeated - we were going to drive the 3.5 hours home until I saw a sign that said camping. When I arrived, it appeared that lax lake had no vacancy so I was asking the gal at the office if I could borrow the WiFi To get directions when she told me someone just cancelled and she had a site open for the night. We jumped on the offer because the price was SO fair.Let me just say, the folks that run this place are sweet as pie. The lake that it sits on is so clean, you can nearly see the bottom. Plus it’s great fishing!The bathrooms are clean and they even offer laundry. If I had to recommend a place to stay to someone, I’m 150% recommending lax lake. Plus, it’s even quiet at night. There weren’t any drunk neighbors chatting all night. It was just crickets and lions and the sound of the fire pit crackling.We will definitely be visiting again!!!

My family stayed here in August and absolutely loved it! It was just close enough to all the places we wanted to go see but far enough away that we felt secluded. The owners were so kind and helpful. My kids loved that we could rent kayaks right there to go out on the lake. I think this little place will become a family tradition every summer.

I showed up here thinking that this is where my friends booked our camping trip. It turned out they forgot to change the address on the invite. With no reception I was beginning to worry but the owner was very kind and provided me directions on where I needed to go as well as allowed me to connect to their wifi so I can quickly download offline maps to make it to my next destination. This kind gesture to a weary traveller has left a lasting impression. I plan to book my next camping trip here.

A few friends and I planned a last minute girls weekend and Lax Lake Resort was the only place with a room open. I couldn't believe how great it was when we got there. The facilities were clean and well kept, the room was large and offered plenty of room for the 4 of us and the staff was so helpful. The views are simply spectacular! And there are so many things to see within a short drive from the resort. We will definitely be back. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Great campground. Nice bathrooms, beautiful view of the lake, pretty quiet at night when we were there. Lax came in clutch for us when we couldn't find a tent site anywhere in the fall, they managed to sneak us in and were so happy to have us. Will definitely return if we get the chance!

Cute and Cozy! We stayed in lodge room our first night. Perfectly adequate with two beds, multiple tables, balcony and fan. Note: there is no TV or bathroom in your room... bathroom/shower room is shared downstairs and you really don't need a TV on the North Shore! Our second night was in a campsite. Get a lake site if possible. The loons are active and the lake is gorgeous!! There are kayaks, paddle boats and a pontoon for rent. Very close to many great North Shore favorites and fantastic little restaurants. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful campground right on the lake. We were traveling through the area and they had 1 site left for a Friday night. Enough space for our 30ft class A, we used the 30 amp service. (Also had cabins and tent sites) Very friendly and helpful staff. We used their laundry facilities. A short drive to many local attractions. We will stay longer next time. We would recommend this place to anyone.

We have been to Lax Lake Resort six times. Each time we leave there relaxed and refreshed. We are basic, rustic people and this resort fits us to a tee. The beauty is breathtaking. Our lodge room overlooks the lake and that lake is gorgeous. Melodie is wonderful. It is a very clean, comfortable place with everything we need to be on vacation. This is all very hard to put into words, and my pictures don't do it justice. We have never stayed at a hotel or resort more than once but this place is one that we keep coming back to because the minute we walk into the room we feel at home and at peace. We are very grateful that such a place as Lax Lake Resort exists! LOVE it!!!

Had a site with electric which my travel trailer uses otherwise battery would not last for the stay, site was perfect for my uses, very quiet, and clean camp area, friendly people and helpful , the lake which the campground borders is very clean and the lake shore very natural, rentals are available including pontoon boat for a larger group of people, the swimming area is delightful and even has a floating dock for swimmers to gather on. A family would find this place very accommodating for children and couples would equally enjoy the solitude. Tent camping is also very appropriate here if so desired. It’s not a place for large RVs or long camper trailers, 20 foot trailers or RV are easily parked on most sites with electric, but no water hook ups or dump available at this Park which is not a problem if water useage is minimal.

Very friendly staff, and enjoyed hearing and seeing loons on the lake. Supply shop is pretty basic so bring most of what you think you'll need. Stayed in a room, which we felt was very reasonably priced.But, just so you know what you're getting into this isn't the type of place with a tv, AC, or wifi and cell service is spotty. Depends on the experience you're looking for.

The pricing, staff, and area was great! It's a small camp ground and easy to find your way around. The only issue I found was that the bathrooms could use a bit of maintenance such as fixing the stall doors in the bathroom area and perhaps changing the hot water timer on the showers (you used to have to pay a quarter for 5 min of hot water at some point but they have taken out the trays on the timers and provide quarters so you don't actually have to use any of your money. It's just a bit of a hassle to operate it while showering.) But I understand that this is probably not a cheap or easy job and I appreciate that campers don't have to pay for the hot water.The bathrooms were kept relatively clean and some towels were provided.It was a good place to camp at and I enjoyed my stay here. I hope to come again next summer!

All the campgrounds were full in Silver Bay and Beaver Bay and this place came to the rescue. The gentleman was very friendly and gave us their last spot even though it was for an RV and all we had was a tent. The views were breathtaking of the lake and trees. Listened to the loons in the evening and morning. Highly recommend this place for camping.

As far as camping is concerned, this quaint spot is pretty amazing! Off-shore fishing, paddle boats, board game room, hotel-style rooms available, cool staff, campsites spaced far enough apart for a good camping experience, clean bathrooms and showers. Great North Shore experience, close to iconic State Parks and nature sites. Highly recommended!

We came with 34 family members and had a great experience. We used all the indoor spaces and some of the camping sites. The spaces were nice and clean. Owner even came midday to check on bathrooms and showers to make sure everything was tidy. The little kids had a blast on the sand beach. The big kids got to fish to their hearts content off the rocks and docks cause it was far enough away from the swimming beach. It was all very charming and clean.Noteworthy details: It is a campground so there are shared bathrooms and showers. The camper cabins are very charming with no bathrooms but the campground bathroom is very close. One of the cleanest facilities we have been at.

My husband and I camped here for our 11th anniversary. The family that owns this place is so incredibly friendly and helpful! Before we left we booked another weekend to bring the kids. This will definitely be a repeat visit over the years to come! Highly recommend staying here!!!

Great place to relax with the family. Very clean and great views. Owners are very caring and kind. They make you feel at home. Best 3 day vacation in a long time. Tennessee is a great kid. I will be back next year. Save my spot!

It's so pretty and not too expensive. Me and my family comes here almost every year. There's kayak and paddle boat rentals, so you can enjoy a day on the lake.
