This place is amazing and Shirley the Vet there is a complete blessing to any animal she treats! Took my baby there recently as he had a big squishy sore on his head that I was told by two other Vets that it would go away or fall off! Shirley took one look at it and knew immediately that my baby was suffering in pain and it was s cancerous tumor and needed to be removed ASAP! She got him in right away and went above and beyond to help him. And she also cleaned his teeth and extracted 7 bad teeth that were causing my sweetie pain also. She truly genuinely cares for animals and I wanted to vie her the biggest hug! And it didn’t cost me an arm and a leg! Absolutely unbelievable! I’m so happy I found a place to take my BB and I know he’ll be in the best hands!

Shirley is an amazing veterinarian! She took in my sick mama dog and her 9 puppies, when she came down with a uterine infection.She stayed 2 days and I felt she was in the best hands possible!We are truly thankful for everything!

Called to get my dog seen for a mass. Lady who answered phone asked if we had been there before. I said I usually vet somewhere else but I wanted goldmount to take my dogs case on this. Lady promptly said they are no longer taking new clients and pretty much ended the phone call. Very disappointed in the way this lady was on the phone. She needs some compassion training.

Called in to make a possible appointment, was pretty much told to get lost as I’ve visited other vets before. One of the dogs I was bringing in was untreated by the other vet, but in my book you do not shoo customers away like that.

My lab mix Chance absolutely hates going to the vet!I was out of town when he suffered a cut to his side, so I needed to bring him in. I was amazed that he did not hesitate to walk into the Goldmount Clinic. Maybe it's because Dr. Kittleson's office is in her barn. Maybe it's because she has her own dogs milling around. Maybe it's because of her gentle nature. Maybe it's all of these things.I am so grateful for this stress-free visit for my best friend. Wonderful experience!

I had taken a cat with a wounded eye, several times to my vet to no avail (3 rounds of eye drops) so I tried Doc Kittleson. I knew of her excellent rep with horses. Sure enough one look at him and she diagnosed the problem and he has since had surgery and is healing nicely. Well he's NOT a fan of the cone around his head, but so far, so good.

I brought in my dog to be put to sleep. A family member of 15, almost 16 years. The whole procedure was, horribly unprofessional and traumatizing. Unprepared. No privacy. People were walking in and out of the room we were in. No form of sedative whatso ever. They said it was hard to find the vein because she was so old and they said 1 shot would be plenty. We ended up preparing 2 separate times, watching my dog struggle to breathe, and limply handled because she hadn't had enough euthanasia to put her to sleep. The whole thing took an hour. Blood everywhere. And she didnt bother to shave her arm until the last shot was put in. Her arm was swollen from all the poking. When you are a vet, it is your responsibility to make this kind of situation as quick and easy as possible. I cannot believe there was no sedative whatsoever. No animal should have to go, struggling, and scared that badly. I'm so so upset and sad. I am full of guilt. I know she didn't mean to have the process go that horribly, but the things she did made me think she was unprofessional and so unprepared. I've never heard of someone having such a traumatic experience. I'm so appalled.

Dr. Kittleson is amazing! She has done excellent with our dog's & horses! We drive over an hour to go to her, & her only, even though there are many vet's closer. We highly recommend Goldmount Veterinary Center!!!!!

We had taken into consideration many different recommendations when choosing Shirley to take our senior dog to. She seemed very nice at first and we felt at ease leaving our darling with Shirley. However, our dog had passed while at goldmount vet, and we were not notified until the following evening when we had called to check in on her. This was our family dog of 15 years, and we all loved her dearly. To have a vet not call when our family pet had passed even just out of sincerity or empathy, is appalling. When we went to pick her body up, it appeared that she hadn’t been moved whatsoever, as she was still surrounded by the other dogs, and this was 2 days after she had passed. Another thing that disturbed me, was that there was a dog that was dripping blood from its mouth out and about greeting people and other animals. I will not be taking any future pets of mine to goldmount in fear that I will not be notified if something were to happen.

Dr. Kittleson and her staff at Goldmount are what a great country vet are all about. Very, VERY accommodating, understanding, clear explanations of any issues. They obviously love animals and take great care of them. We live in the Twin Cities and make the drive to Goldmount with our dogs - well worth the extra time on the road to bring them to Dr. Kittleson.

All I can say is amazing we took my dog out last year to have a mass looked at it was looked at and by the weekend it was gone (it was Cancer) and now he's running like a little lion on happy juice and the about 4or 5 yrs ago we took our oldest cat out cuz of a very bad infection and tartar build up needless to say he's still up and acting like a kitten.

Staff and vet were all friendly and seemed to know what they were doing. Reason for low stars is I brought my horse who had occasional lameness in front feet, vet diagnosed navicular syndrome BUT SHE DID NOT WANT TO TAKE X-RAYS. She recommended a farrier who said he would not shoe the horse with out xrays. Later got a second opinion from a vet who did take xrays and we found the horse had a fractured navicular bone, had been nerved (so he couldn’t feel the break) and he had arthritis developing in the leg with broken bone which was the actual cause of his occasional lameness. Long story short I believe Shirley is more old school and diagnoses off of “feel.” “Feel” works fine unless you really want to get to the source of your issues with proof. Could have had answers a long time ago but didn’t due to xrays not being taken.
