Relaxed lakeside cabins with BBQ & kitchenettes on a woodsy property offering a boat dock. On a 60-acre wooded plot along the shores of Lake Superior, this woodsy property off Highway 61 is a 6-minute walk from local history displays at the Cross River Heritage Center. It's 4 miles from hiking at Carlton Peak. Rustic cabins, some dating from the 1920s, come with kitchenettes, dining areas and BBQs. All have futons. The 2- and 3-bedroom cabins add separate living rooms; 1 has a flat-screen TV and a wood-burning stove, while another is lakeside. There's a boat dock. Campsites are available. Minimum-stay rules may apply.

My whole family tent camped here for 3 nights and loved it. The beach was fun, the showers were nice and hot, and the location to all the state parks was great. Being mid June it was a little chilly overnight so we needed a couple extra blankets. Overall we had a great time and I will definitely look to stay here again the next time we visit the North Shore!

Great property with great access to the North Shore generally speaking. I still like the place but thought it was better when I first started staying here. From my perspective the place has seen increased visitors over the past five years (I've been staying here annually for 20 years) and has not kept up with the resulting volume when it comes to non-plumbed facilities.

Rented an rv to tent camp since I wanted electricity and to be across from the bathroom and this was perfect! Very private and convenient! There’s two areas you can walk down to the lake, one with a black sand beach, there’s an arcade, group sites, and even a bakery restaurant out front on the main road in case you are tired and need a break from cooking. I would definitely stay again!Nearby activities: An arcade on site and temperance park with tons of hiking trails only a couple blocks away.Food & drinks: There’s a to go restaurant/bakery off the main road in front of the resortNoteworthy details: Right on the lake, has a black sand beach and tons of hiking all around it!

It is so close to the busy highway you hear truckers with jack breaks all night and day. It's hard to sleep. The bathrooms are separated from the shower. So after a shower you have to go back to the other side where the toilets are to comb your hair and brush your teeth. The mirrors are so low you have to squat to look in. The handicap shower my mom had a hard time. Put her shower chair in there for her to use. The shower head was 7' high. She said it took forever to wash her hair. You really need a hand held shower head. It would make more sense for a handicap shower. We were camped in the tent area. It was a long hike to the showers. They really should have the bathrooms closer to the tent area and not RV sites. Or put in another bath house closer to the tent area. It was nice to have a porta potty located throughout the area. But they get stinky. But for that many sites you really need to upgrade and add another bath house. KOA's and better than this resort.

Pleasant private camp ground right on Lake Superior. We booked only a month or so in advance, so we didn’t get a lakeside campsite, but we could walk right down to the beach. All public campgrounds were completely full. Great location. Other campers were quiet, no loud parties, etc. Main bathroom was clean. Porta potties should have been emptied more often than what looked like a once a month schedule, but they were plentiful around the camp ground. I’d recommend getting a site as close to the water as possible, and as far away from the Highway as possible to avoid truck noise. They gave us a flyer about reservations for next year, so I got the impression that campers returned year after year, which is a good sign. Very family oriented. Nice to be able to walk to the coffee shop next door. It was a great base of operations to explore the area.

We used Lamb's as a base for a bike ride from the Canadian Border to Duluth. They were so accommodating and encouraging. The camp hosts were very helpful as it was my first time backing my trailer in. Would absolutely recommend to anyone.

Campsite was super clean and well taken care of, a beautiful location right next to the water with a cafe and some great merch just up the hill. If you have a lakeside camp site, I'd just recommend earplugs! The waves can get really loud on windy/stormy nights.Nearby activities: Some of the most beautiful hiking trails I've ever walked are just down the road, Grand Marais is a great little town about a half hour away, and if you have trout fishing gear, the streams up there are absolutely stuffed with beautiful fish.

Great ma & pa owned private campground. As advertised and posted it was quiet after 10PM.. The bugs were very surprisingly not a problem. Campsites spaced out nicely. Water and electric worked. Walking distance of the coffee shop/bakery. Showers were clean.

We just happened to see this campground as we were traveling and needing a place to stay for the night and WOW were we impressed. The camp host was very nice. There is a cool little arcade! The playground was great for our son. The showers were the best showers we have ever come across at a campground and were VERY clean. We got so lucky that we got a lakefront spot and let me tell you that it was AMAZING! I would 10/10 recommend this place and DEF camping by the water!

We love being on Lake Superior it's always so beautiful. Had a different site this year with more if a view of the lake. The weather was perfect. Missed having a fire because of the restrictions but better safe than sorry. Black flies were pretty thick. All in all a good time.

We stayed here for a Labor Day weekend getaway. We loved it so much that we extended our stay for 2 additional days! They have so much to offer here! Playground equipment for kids, a large beach, small hiking trail by the river, and clean bathroom facilities. It was a busy Labor Day weekend and I didn't have much luck finding hot water during shower time. But our overall experience was GREAT!! We are planning on coming back next year. The staff we had contact with were very friendly and extremely helpful.Update: They have a new shower facility as of 2017. Unlimited hot water and new showers!

A beautiful campground and cabins. Something for every nature lover here. The small beach is beautiful and clean. The campsites themselves are very varied, only a few sewer hook-ups. Facilities are well-maintained. No dump station however, which is an important factor having a camper and driving from 8 hours away. In the end definitely worth the hassle though, will be back.

Camping trip to get out of the hot weather in Twin Cities, had lovely weather, communed with Lake Superior, had a spot with full hook-ups for our camper, but may want to try lakeside primitive sites. Sun-Wed not too busy, quiet, close to many great attractions and Mother Nature. Campsites were clean, well-maintained, bathrooms and showers were the same. Love that the Schroeder Bakery was within a short walk for morning lattes and scones.

This June we took six of our children camping at Lambs. It was our first time there, and it was great. We had the furthest two tent sites on the lake a few steps up from the lake. It was amazing listening to the waves all night. The beach area is open to the people at Lamb's, but it wasn't super busy. It is an absolutely beautiful place, well taken care of and clean. We've only been camping in the Boundary Waters, so this was cushy! :) I would say though, that if we go again, I will definitely take a camp stove. We cooked meals over the fire which proved a bit tricky (and expensive) because you have to buy firewood from them, which is understandable, but it's NOT seasoned so it smokes and is difficult to get a really good long, hot burning. Also, the drinking water tastes pretty gross. It's very convenient and great for cooking but we went and bought bottles for drinking.

Was a great experience! It was a little more rugged than state parks. We liked that though. A hidden gem with waterfall and two beautiful beaches. People here were kind and very knowledgeable! Not much in gift store but to be fair covid happened..showers clean and bathrooms as well.

A very nice family owned resort. Beautiful camp sight spots. Right up against the beach of Superior. the grounds we're vast and clean. So you don't feel cramped in like many other camp sites. The bathrooms we're also clean as we're the many portable John's dotted around for convenience. Our friends stayed in a cabin. That was also nice and even kept warm in October.

We really enjoyed our stay at Lamb's Resort. Campsite #7 is absolutely stunning with direct access to Lake Superior. The bathroom and shower facilities are clean and in good condition (I discovered from staff that the showers are new within the past year). The resort hosts are very friendly and helpful upon arrival. It's only a short walk to the private beach, which is a lovely spot to enjoy the lake. We're already looking forward to our next stay!

Lovely campground RIGHT on Lake Superior and Cross River. Perfect if you'd like to get some hiking in, take in the fall colors, or admire the rocks and waves at the beach. For tent campers, there are clean restroom and shower facilities centrally located, as well as the port-a-johns and drinking water taps scattered throughout. Well maintained roads and campsites, firewood and ice for sale onsite, and a fire ring at each site. You can do a little hike right from your campsite to some lovely falls (lake walk trail to the falls), or find any number of great trails in easy driving distance. The owners and staff are wonderful. We've tent camped two years in a row, had A+ experiences both times. It even has a playground, dishwashing sinks, a small arcade, and doggy cleanup station. Book in advance for weekend visits.

We have been camping here for probably the last ten plus years, and keep coming back year after year. The tent sites are good and they have showers and restrooms for everyone to use. You can also get doeis right on the lake which are very nice. The cabins are great too. Very rustic and wonderful views of the lake and you have the Cross River got next to you. Also, their prices won't break the bank either which is always a plus.

My favorite place to camp on all of the North Shore! Great location and close to hiking and sight seeing. We love the little bakery/coffee shop that is located near the campground, but owned by someone else. Get a camp site right on Lake Superior Shore line ... but plan ahead! This place is always busy and it’s tough to get a spot last minute. The shower house is newer and is well maintained.

Like taking a trip back in time. Perfect retro space. Wonderful staff. Cabins are a rare experience. Like a Girl Scout Camp.Rooms: Deliciously rustic cabins with tidy little kitchens.Nearby activities: Hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, running.Walkability: Plenty of trails on and nearby.Noteworthy details: Old school campground and cabin life.
