I've been going to this hardware store at this same location over the last 25 years. While the names have changed several times, the customer service has remained fairly well. Sadly, after the last changeover of ownership, the customer service has to hit an all time low. Usually there is only one person working and they are always on the phone. When you ask a question, they don't end their call but they continue to stay on the phone as they try to help you. Needless to say, they usually are not able to answer your question or help solve your problem.

I can usually get whatever thing I need here, plus other things, but They have changed the way they handle customer service. I used to be able to walk in, and immediately the cashier would ask me what I needed and direct me to where I would find it, take me over there and help me look and pick it out. Now, no one says anything to to me when I come in. The guy behind the big long counter doesn't even acknowledge me, and I'm on my own to figure it out where the thing is that I'm needing. This place no longer feels like my friendly neighborhood hardware store. If I want to be left alone to search the entire store for my thing, I'll go to Walmart, where I'll be doing the same amount of searching, alone, but I'll be paying a bit less for all my efforts. It's really too bad that they stopped caring about the customer, and took the 'neighborhood friendly' out of Hardware Hank.

I go to the store when I don’t know what I need or I need help finding what I need. The staff in the store are knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. You may pay a little more than the big stores, but it’s well worth every penny for the kind of service you get here in my opinion.

Visited here for some parts for a project after being taken back by another stores prices.Staff was able to point me in the right direction for almost any project. When they didn't have 1 peice, they were able to point to me where I could go for the tool and exactly what I needed (as to not over buy)In comparison to other hardware hanks, this one is worth the extra mile drive for service and prices

Absolutely terrible! I bought a piece for our sink yesterday and the man working said not sure if it will fit, just bring it back with the receipt if it's not right. If it was all sales were final I would have not bought it. It wasn't the right part. My husband brought it back the next day and refused to do a return. Incredibly frustrating.We have been going there for 9 years. I am very disappointed they are willing to lose customers over a 25 dollar part. They didn't stay true to their word. They lost some very loyal customers over something so trivial.

My favorite Hardware store, great flower options, I get my bird seed here and even the shampoo cleaner is great. The staff is also so friendly.

Staff knowledge can be hit or miss. Some are great and can help solve the problem better than my solution. 3 star as it's 50/50 on whether they have what I need. Frustrating as many times I need to run to big box store to complete my project.

I recently went to the Sartell Hardware Hank, to send a small suitcase to my son in Canada (they have a UPS service in the store). After explaining that my son had mistakenly left it and that it had his CPAP machine and clothes in it and that I needed to get it to him as soon as possible, they offered me two services (overnight $480 and expedited $370). Though this seemed really expensive, I figured I had no choice, so I opted for the expedited service which they claimed would arrive within 48 hrs.The next day Bobby (manager of Hardware Hank)called me to tell me the package was being held by UPS because it needed an invoice declaration for the CPAP. So I had to drive to the UPS depot in St. Cloud to make the declaration. I tried explaining to them that it had no value, since it was my son's own used machine, but they insisted that I had to put something on it or Canada Customs would not let it through. This evidently resulted in my son having to pay over $40 in taxes.I have since found out that this whole expensive mess was because the package should have been classified as "personal effects" and that it could have been sent at a standard rate of about $80, which as not offered to me even though it only takes about 6 days to get there.When I went back to the store Bobby told me that the store would not be be responsible for the costs and would no longer be offering international UPS services. I also went back to UPS, but they say that they provided the service that the store requested, so we needed to go through them if we had any complaints.Neither UPS or Hardware Hank appear to really understand this service they provide, as they did not classify the package correctly even though they knew what was in the package and what it was for. And it is now clear that they will not honor their own deficiencies.This is not good customer service.

Hardware Hank so much more convenient helpful and engaging than any of the big box hardware storesThey carry a Hillman section which offers the ability to individually purchase that oddball screw or connector or furniture piece along with imperial and metric hardware in stainless through grade 8Support your local hardware store!!

This business is an absolute joke. I tried calling 3 times and on the 4th time they finally answered the phone. I went to rent an aerator from them, and they told me I needed a Minnesota driver's license to rent his equipment. It was clear he just didn't want to do the work. This place doesn't deserve business.

Super helpful people, quick shopping experience. You might pay a little bit more here, but with the time savings alone you make it back in a heartbeat. Love the local hardware store!

The selection is on point for a small town hardware hank. Staffed by mainly teenaged kids like a lot of hardware hanks but they're respectful and helpful.
