I love that Rockford has a Dollar General. You can definitely see that there were growing pains when the store opened. However, it looks like management was working really hard to getting the store dialed in. I have never seen the aisle so pretty and her knowledge of the store is exceptional, for the small amount of time she’s been there. I believe her name is Patience. I love the seasonal stuff. I was able to get everything I need for whatever holiday was on the plate. Just finished buying all the stuff I needed for Halloween. Patience took me on a tour of the stuff that she had there and I was able to get everything and she spent quite a bit of time helping me out which doesn’t ever seem to be the case anywhere else I shop. I felt like the most important customer of the day.

Under staffed under paid the isles are full of stock and unpassable just another example of DG's corporate failure don't waste your time I'm guessing they are too busy paying fines good thing Kwik Trip is right up the road

I shopped in their store 9/17 what a disaster and safety issues full u-boats in almost every isle some had 2 U-boats in them making shopping impossible! Forget a wheelchair from getting down any isle which is a violation itself! The emergency exits were blocked as well, only one person in the store that we saw. Also a small child had wondered off as children do, from his mom making it impossible for her to see him down any isles, luckily were saw which way he went. Not sure if this store is ran like this constantly, but if so OSHA should be contacted the serious dangerous violations!! Tried contacting the manager will not return to this location and continue at Maple Lake location.

I love the Rockford mn Dollar General! I go there almost daily. They always what I need. And it’s such a warm friendly environment. They treat you like family. The new store manager is so kind and approachable. And really seems to know the store! I definitely give this place a five star rating !

I’m disabled and have a very limited ability to shop. My shopping experience was wonderful. I was given help with items I couldn’t reach and helped me with gathering my goods. The manager of the store Patience, was so kind and helpful and she even brought my items out to my car. Thank you for your service and thank you for all the staff who definitely love their job. I’ll be sure to shop there again and again. Keep up the good work. God bless you all.

It's nice to have a store with some everyday items in town. But pretty pathetic that I usually have to drive to Delano because the rockford store is always closed. Poorly managed! Delano also has fresh produce, and much more organized.

They have been randomly closing multiple times a week. This is sad it let’s down a community that depends on them. Figure it out or change your hours.

They’re closed for stocking every other day for some reason and even though they have a self checkout they don’t use it (or remain open during normal stocking for that matter???) sounds like the owners need to actually pay employees more or actual do something so they’re open half the time. CrazyOh yeah and they constantly have outdated coupons on display so you end up paying more than advertised unless a worker knows how to manually adjust it which is rare. Do some training hire some people sheesh

Nice store. Easy access. Limited parking. Tight aisles. Have to be careful at checkout to enter your phone number on the pad to get your digital coupons from the app. I think they have to start the check out process first and then you enter your number to get your digital coupons applied before they finish scanning your items.

This store used to be ran great but now is being run into the ground. Staff cusses and swears in front of customers and children, closes early, you never know when they are open, you can barely make it through the aisles, clearance items are never rung up properly. The staff used to be great but none of them are there anymore! It’s a run down piece of junk store in our city.

Call ahead before you take a special trip to make sure the store is open. Three times now, on random days over several weeks, they have been closed due to "stocking" or "inventory." It's super frustrating.

Horrible manager I will drive 20 miles away rather than set foot here again until she's fired, she's rude, lazy and verbally abusive to staff. Not shocked every good employee quit or leaves quickly after being hired under her.

Great selection! Staff was very accommodating and helpful. Love the deals they have on Gain laundry products. It's like Target for me, can't leave without spending more than planned. Love the app. with the cart calculator and shopping list!

Expired coupons on all of the pegs and management refused to honor any of the pricing. She seemed to be slurring her words and having trouble keeping her eyes open.

The prices rarely ring up all correct when you go to the checkout, but usually the managers are willing to fix to the displayed price. However, today, now there is a young man there that is literally trying to imitate a lazy sloth who is also rude! Never have I ever been treated so poorly there. He argued with me, in a quiet condescending tone, about a price and was unwilling to get his manager and told me I could "take them or leave them, That's the price" and his manager "wouldn't be able to do nothing either". I stayed as calm in voice as I ever have and told him to please get the manager 3 times before he complied..at the speed of a snail! When there were 2 and then 3 more people waiting! My patience was put to the test, as was those peoples. The manager came and corrected the price. Apologized and said she would talk with him later. Then as I waited for my daughter, who had to use the restroom, I watched as he rudely obviously told some other lady the discount would be on the receipt and watched her walk out very perplexed as to where this so called discount was. Then I seen him wait on 2 teenage boys that were happy when they came to the register. But looked very unhappy by the time he "handed" them there bag, really I should say DROPPED it into their not ready hands and so the bag with several canned beverages dropped and rolled out on the floor... He never even attempted to help! Never will I be waited on him again. I will request someone else check me out. I get DG is so desperate for employees because they do not pay enough, but this is just a rude personality.

Best Dollar General I've ever stepped into. I'm always greeted by an employee even when they obviously have a lot going on. Clean organized store. Everyone friendly and helpful. The people working here should get some sort of raise for how hard they work.Love having the staff we do at this one in Rockford

Horrible experience today a lady working was yelling loudly about a costumer that came in made me so uncomfortable I told her to stop she was making me uncomfortable shopping I don't appreciate her yelling about someone who shopped there . She needs to be fired I asked for manager and the manager was joining in on the conversation so unprofessional so no worth shopping there

Prices are excellent and the selection is very good. It's so nice to finally have small store nearby.It's my understanding that this location is working on getting a liquor license. I will change my rating from three stars to five stars as soon as they begin selling beer!Update: This location has begun selling beer! They have a few popular brands available however they sell out very quickly. I have increased my review from 3 to 4 starts and will bump it up to 5 once they get control of their inventory.

The service is always great! They have the best prices on some things, but it's best to shop around unless you are just going there for convenience. They do have great clearance sales quite often, with prices that can't be beat! So it's worth stopping in to take a look often, and to save the most shopping there, I recommend downloading the DG app.

What sets this "dollar store" apart from any other is the stellar service that you always recieve. I stop in a couple times a month for milk, cat food, laundry soap, etc and it doesn't matter the service is consistently good. Especially the gentleman who has been there since they opened (sorry, I should know his name) is phenomenal and the store is fortunate to have him.

Everybody there is so kind! I literally was a couple bucks short one day for my dinner sides for me and my daughter , and the gentleman literally reached in his pocket and borrowed me the money and told me to pay it forward! That’s amazing and beyond customer service ! Plus they actually have a really decent variety of stuff pretty much everything we needed in Rockford !!! Love the store and adore the staff!!! Somethings could be priced better for a dollar general but I am aware that has nothing to do with the individuals working there. The Manager is very personable and engaged with her customers and very good at remembering her regulars.

Appreciate the convenience as Rockford did not have a whole lot to offer. Wish it was larger and offered more. More than once, there hasn't been a cashier at the front when I went to check out. I understand that it's not busy all the time but the cashier should be able to see if someone is at the register.
